Star Wars Holiday Edition 2 pack?
It seems a Xmas set with R2D2 and C3PO has shown up on Ebay. Check HERE for the auction and for further info head over to Artoo News. This looks along the line of the 25th anniversary 2 packs that came out. Well something with a Christmas theme would be great for a gift at that time of year.

Disney Star Tour Toys and Canada eh!
I talked to a Disney rep today regarding Star Tour Droids that are available to order by phone. I was told that Canadians can order through their toll free number,  but that the customer is responsible for paying all handling fees and Canadian taxes. Those who order from the Fan Club know about that. I was told the limit is 5 of each figure and at this time they are out of stock until next month. You can contact them yourself @ 1-800-362-4533

KUBRICK Official Star Wars Mini-Figs by MEDICON!
Here is something from Medicom Toys. Its called the Early Bird Certificate Package. Which includes: LUKE SKYWALKER, PRINCESS LEIA ORGANA, CHEWBACCA, and R2-D2. This item is apperantley only avaible in Japan sorry to say, according to this article. But needless to say I would love to add these figures to my collection. Personally I think Chewie & R2 look Awesome! Also a nice surprise was this pic on SirStevesGuide. that shows the next set that features The BOUNTYHUNTERS from The Empire Strikes Back!!!!

Starfighter sale @Wal-Mart
Stopped by a local Wal-Mart this morning and found the Jedi Starfighter on sale for $20.00. They had few on hand and at that price they will probably sell quickly. Although they did not have any Slave 1's in stock, it might be worth while to take a look to see if it is on sale as well, and if you see it on sale let us know.

Weekend Update!

The Accessory sets are now showing up in Alberta  Zellers and should be in rest of Canada soon. The X-wing has shown up on Vancouver Island but still has yet surfaced in the rest of B.C.. The Luke and Tauntaun are in very low numbers so far and only at a few Toys-r- Us stores.

Parmalat Promo: "Discover the Secrets of The Stars Wars Saga"
Parmalat Canada will begin a promotion this fall with Lucasfilm, Nintendo, Hasbro and Lego where you can win a Star Wars prize such as a limited edition Game Boy Advance with an attack of the Clones game, an R2-D2 droid from Hasbro, a Lego Star Wars prize pack or an Episode II movie poster. The grand prize is the Ultimate Star Wars prize pack, which contains one of each instant win prize. The contest involves special cards included with four million packages of Black Diamond Cheesestrings and Black Diamond Process Cheese Slices which began rolling out to stores last week. In Quebec the promotion will run on packages of Lactantia's Ficello and Process Cheese Slices.
Each card also contains a "Saga Secret" and a code number. Consumers who check a code at the Web sites of the participating brands, may win a Star Wars prize.

More on Accessory sets
Seems these sets are not in the Wal-mart or Toys-R-us computer systems (yet), or will these will be a Zellers "exclusive" in Canada. Obiwan18 (who works at Zellers) reports that Ontario stores will be getting  in 1 or 2 cases each depending on the store, with 1- 2 cases on order as well. Out west they have only still surfaced in a few Zellers stores so far, it seems we are at the mercy of the stock people and have to wait until they get them out on the shelves. If you wish to enquire about these in your local store, the SKU# is 5114 2218 4733. They should be spreading across Canada soon.

Spencer from John's Collectables in Richmond B.C. let us know he has some of the Wal-mart Cantina sets and  Playskool sets in stock as well as more Saga figures.

Target Accessory sets found @ Zellers in B.C.!!!!
Went to my local Zellers tonight and found all 4 Target exclusive accessory sets. Price is $14.93 and they are in U.S. packaging, they must have just put them out since the upc code didn't scan. The case assortment seems to be 2 of each. Way to go Zellers!

Luke & Tauntaun has arrived @ Toys-R-Us!
But in very small numbers, according to the customer service person I talked to, the warehouse received 20 pcs so far and that is for Ontario and Alberta. They also say more is on the way, so the rest of Canada will have to wait a while longer. The SKU# is 679221 if you want to check your local Toys-R-Us. The retail price is $89.99. Cantina Figures arrive in the US
Yakface.com is reporting that the new Wal-Mart exclusive Cantina figures have been found in Arizona. The case has 8 figures in it, with 2x Greedo, 3x Momaw Nadon and 3x Ponda Baba. Hopefully, these sets should arrive soon in Canada!

Week End Update!

More X-Wing Mystery!

"Hi, I just wanted to let everyone know the deal on the x-wings, landspeeders, and 12 inch Jango. My best friend works at a Toys-R-Us in Ontario and he told me that the company is starting to only send some of this stuff to the stores they think will sell it .This is something new as I worked at the same store for nine years and they sent the same stuff to every store. I guess because of all the overstock left it makes sense to them. My friend also said they have no more orders for the new figures, they will still  be getting the playsets and republic ships though"
The best thing is to contact your local Toys-R-Us to see if they will be receiving them, remember to give them the SKU# -679232

Wal-Mart finally  putting out more stock?
There are reports of Wal-Marts putting out more product, although nothing new has shown up yet, if you missed a wave or a few figures it might be best to check your local store. My local Wal-Mart put out about a case of figures after about 3 weeks of  having nothing on the pegs.

Getting Impatient waiting?
If you are tired of wondering  if and when we will see more Star Wars product in Canada, go to the source. Customer service for Toys-R-us Canada and Hasbro Canada can be found HERE. It might be time to let them know there is still  people interested Star Wars toys in Canada. Let them know what you are looking for, new figures, unleashed, vehicles ect. they are helpful and will try to answer your questions. It is helpful to supply the Hasbro product # that can be found on the Cargo Bay. We have posted some upcoming product in past posts, so you can check below to see what we have found out so far.

If anyone has contact information for Wal-Mart Canada's head office could you send it in.

Into Micro Machines?
The latest issue of Lee's Toy Review magazine has hit the stands, in this issue they have a "build it" guide to Star Wars Micro Machines. This includes pictures of Action Fleet, Die Cast, Transforming Playsets and every other type that has been available from the Trilogy and Phantom Menace. If you collect these it is worth picking up.

X-Wing has landed in Canada!
Hacal let us know that the Toys-R-Us exclusive X-wing with R2D2 has arrived in Edmonton. It should start spreading across the rest of Canada soon and as posted earlier the price is $54.99 and the SKU# is 679232.

Update: It seems they have only initially shipped small quantities and are only showing up in some parts of Canada. Best check with your local TRU to see if they will be available at a store near you. Just take the above SKU# to customer service. I was told they will be receiving more at the warehouse soon, but other reports have mentioned that not all stores will be getting them.




$5.00 Acklay @ Wal-mart????
Being the creative type, I copied the UPC from my Acklay I purchased from Zellers and scanned it at Walmart, it came up $5.00. Although this could be a computer error, Walmart has been know to bring in new product at discounted prices.($5.00 preview figures) Keep an eye out and let us know if you find one for this discounted price,

Received an email back from Toys-r-us Canada regarding the promotional R2D2 that is coming out this fall in the U.S.: "Thank you for your email correspondence, Unfortunately this promotion is only available in the U.S. only." Hopefully things will change in Canada by November, check back for updates!

Landspeeder Found!
VLIX sent in word of his find:
"Just picked up the new Landspeeder from A New Hope at TRU West Edmonton. It's a US release, no French. $32.09 with tax" ($29.99 )
He sent in this picture, no word on the X-wing yet though but it can't be too long before it shows up as well.

Update! The Landspeeder has been found in B.C. as well.



Also  the Mace Windu Deluxe with "Red" battle droid has been found in Ontario and the Acklay is showing up in Quebec and Nova Scotia now too. New product is showing up so let us know what you find.

2002/2003 Star Wars Toys in Canada!
Tod from The Outer Reaches sent us some great news on upcoming Star Wars product in Canada:
"We have just returned from Hasbro Canada's Fall 2002 Preview and Spring 2003 and have some star Wars news that may interest you.

The good news is that Canada will see all 52 Star Wars figures being released this year on tri-cards and 38 new figures for 2003. A new wave will  be arriving at Hasbro's Montreal warehouse in about 2 weeks, they weren't sure on the assortment though. Through September and the early fall they will continue to receive new waves on Tri-cards. Hasbro will be running A TV advertising campaign for Star Wars figures beginning in the last week of September and running to the middle of December. During this period we should see the remainder of figures being released in Canada. As we all know  Canada is 1 -2 months behind the US release of these figures. Canada will also see all the Deluxe figure assortments, which will be a total of 11Deluxe figures.

Shipping soon (1 to 2 months) from Hasbro Canada will be the Republic Gunship, 12" Electronic Assortment, Interactive R2-D2, Micro Machine Action Fleet vehicles and the Arena Playset.

Looking ahead to 2003 is some very good news, Hasbro Canada will have the following available to the Canadian market, 22 new Collection 1 figures,16 new Collection 2 figures, 9 new Deluxe figures, 2 different Saga Scene Packs, 8 new Unleashed figures, 2 new speeders, a new Slave 1 classic vehicle, 6 new Micro Machine vehicles and 1 to 2 new lightsabers.

For some unfortunate news Hasbro Canada has not yet received Unleashed Series 2, it may be a while before we see them in Canada but all seven Unleashed figures for 2002 will be available. Hasbro Canada also decided not to bring in any Playskool Star Wars items, there still is the slight possibility they will turn up at Wal-Mart or Toy R Us however.

Other interesting news includes a remodeled Jedi Starfighter for next year that will include a new Hyper Space Ring feature. The only unreleased packaged item we saw was the micro machine X-Wing fighter which looked great. These micro machines of the X-wing, Falcon and Tie Fighter come in blue packaging window boxes. The great thing about this packaging is there is a window on 3 of the packages sides."

This confirms some of the information we have posted earlier from Hasbro and Toys-r-Us.

On a personal note, I took a run to Washington state this morning, It is amazing  to see how many figures are on the pegs in Walmarts and Toysrus. I  did see the new deluxe Yoda, Action Fleet battle packs and the new Saga X-wing (which will be in Canada soon) The one thing I did get was the Playskool Millennium Falcon set, for those who stray from the  3 3/4" line this is a great piece to get.

Acklay Rears Its Ugly Head!
Darth Bane let's us know that the Acklay beast has finally made its way to Canadian stores! For $22.99, it's shown up at the Zellers in Bells Corners outside of Ottawa. Keep an eye out at a Zellers in your area!

New figures have been shown at the SanDiego Comic Con today! The figures include:
Clone Trooper (Deluxe) with Speeder Bike and Removable Helmet, Clone Trooper (Pilot) with Yellow markings and Gunship Pod, Jango Fett (Slave I Pilot) with Flight Headgear and "Quick-Draw Action!", Battle Droid (Red) which is the original droid re-painted, Count Dooku (Unleashed) holding onto his swirling cape, and finally Mace Windu (Unleashed) with his flaming cloak on the Arena floor (Very cool!)
