Title: Latest Vintage Acquisition
Post by: JesseVader08 on May 12, 2006, 09:44:41 PM
Since this board has been way too quiet the last 2 weeks, I thought I'd try and kick it back into action again.  Perhaps we could use this thread to show off the latest vintage pieces we've acquired.  It could generate some discussion on any number of things.  Anyone want to share?

(Unfortunately, I'm still waiting to pounce on my first Canadian carded Darth Vader, so I have nothing to show.  Yet.  ;))

I'll share.   :party0053:

After a long hunt, I finally acquired the elusive Ewoks Wicket W. Warrick which ended my hunt for my Droids & Ewoks series.

Sise Fromm is the only loose one but in time I will get him carded.

The carded Droids Boba Fett & of course the very elusive Vlix are not a biggy to me. Down the road... will see.  ;)

Impressive. Very impressive. I have been toying with the idea of starting to collect the Droids line as the end is in sight with me only needing a few of the last 17 to finish my vintage collection. I don't remember much of the cartoon from when I was a little guy and truthfully own the Droids DVD's but have yet to open them. But man seeing that pic.......hmmmmm I wonder what they are worth on eBay? :D

Very nice set of figs Vlix. I couldn't even imagin starting to collect those with everything else I've got on the go....

I recently got in the following from a trade/purchase with someone on here.

I don't 100% own them yet as I'm still owed some money.  :confused0024:
Can't 100% say they ARE mine yet.... just in case. ;-)

Anyway, what I got in my end of the deal was the following:

Canadian Carded ESB Fett w/ a Special Offer on it
Sealed Boba Fett Underoos
12" Vintage Loose Boba Fett - Complete with repaired cape.

Want pics? Hit here (http://s16.photobucket.com/albums/b1/bh_toys/) and scroll through for my toy room pics. ;-)

Or.... click the thumbnails below:

Vlix, nice set.  I still need a loose Wicket to finish my Ewoks off, and a handful of loose and carded Droids.

Obi-Roy, Droids and Ewoks figures are on the rise, and some, like Sise Fromm, are getting lots more coin than many ROTJ carded figures, and even some ESB ones too.  Crossover figures like the droids and especially Fett are getting crazy.  (A Fett can go over $1000 depending on condition).

Hey Ian, for sure I see that the Droids and Ewoks are on the rise. A quick eBay search got me a lot of figures but some of the pricing was very surprising. I guess supply and demand really does dictate prices. Still, some Droids and Ewoks carded figures would look great in my cabinet...........

Great run on those figures Dale!  How long has it taken you to get your hands on all those carded Ewoks and Droids figures?

(http://s16.photobucket.com/albums/b1/bh_toys/th_P4060116e.jpg) (http://s16.photobucket.com/albums/b1/bh_toys/?action=view&current=P4060116e.jpg)

That 12" vintage Fett looks to be in great shape.  Nice!  I think the Fett is one of the best looking vintage 12" (besides Vader, naturally ;)).

Underoos - I'm loving that packaging.  I'm pretty sure that's the first time I've seen them.  Too cool!

Pfffft....Droids and Ewoks suck. I don't know anyone who likes that stuff.  :tongue0024:

And Ian...you've got to stop showing off that Vader. It makes me cringe every time i see it! LOL...

Not too much SW stuff new on my end these days actually, it's all been GI Joe. I finally landed a little something i never, ever thought i'd land and should have it in a couple weeks/ I'll post some pics of it then.

I did manage to get this beauty off eBay for an absolute steal a few weeks back:
http://threads.rebelscum.com/photogallery/showphoto.php/photo/2430/cat/500/ppuser/2611

Cels from the first 8 Droids episodes are incredibly hard to find so needless to say i was pleased to get a multi-layered cel with handpainted background and foreground featuring the main character from the 2nd story arc. ;)

Well ... I had this little goal of having a carded version of every vintage Leia figure (not teeny tiny variations, just main figs).  I have Princess Leia (white) on SW 12 and ESB backs (one of those Canadian Toy Fair versions), Bespin Leia, Leia Combat Poncho, and Leia Boushh.  And here is the last one (still in the mail!):

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6055143998&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

Ok .. so it's not perfect .. I liked the price!

hmm .. maybe I'll get one of these signed when Carrie Fisher comes to SFX 2006!!

That's a thing of beauty Ian!  When did you get David Prowse to sign that?  C3?

Actually, it was at C2.  Created a bit of a stir, because at first Prowse refused to sign it, saying it was too valuable of a piece.  I told him then, and still feel now, that it is MY item, and I am NEVER going to resell it.  It made my fave SW item that much more meaningful to me personally, and even if we had a house fire - I would run to rescue this item.  If one day came and I did have to sell everything, this would be the last item I would ever part with.

Ever since, it has been horrifying people like Shane (btw Shane, it's you I was thinking of when I posted the pic again  :) ).

I'm currently moving my entire collection to another room which is slightly bigger - I think I'll take pics of all my autographed vintage as I move them.   They include 12-backs signed by Carrie Fisher and Peter Mayhew, and a Tusken signed by the late Peter Diamond, not to mention my gem mint ESB Fett by Jeremy Bulloch. :)

Ok, so it's been a little longer than two weeks but i finally have gotten around to uploading pics of this little score.

Straight from the annals of obscurity, i present a complete set of Dunkin Droids and Ewoks mini-figures from Spain: http://www.tattoosandtoys.com/images_yours/DunkinSet01.jpg

And yes, the man himself was included:

 http://www.tattoosandtoys.com/images_yours/DunkinThallOrange.jpg

Granted, i still need to get the Thall in green, blue and yellow but just having one is rare enough.

I really lucked into this set, as trying to put one together piecemeal is literally, an impossible task. Why? Because these were originally sold inside cupcakes from a company called Panrico in Spain and very few have even been found there. Some lucky guy in California managed to find a sample envelope sent from Dunkin to LFL at one of the charity sales. There were full sets of each colour as well as a couple extra sets in the envelope and i was able to get this orange set from him, for a pretty hefty price.

So you finally got them eh? Very nice! And to have gotten a complete set in one shot was really lucky too. I have only seen one or two individual figures here and there but I have never seen a Thall for sale by itself. You must be on cloud nine. Congrats!

I just picked up these two rather hard-to-find vehicles lately for what I think was a decent price.  Mind you, the cards are really beat up, but the toys themselves are still in mint shape.  I am happy to give them a decent home.

Yep.... well... that and the dent in the top of the bubble.... and the Woolco price tag.... But besides that  -  YEP! :-)

Problem is, the cape is over the saber and there's no way to move it. That means there's no way to tell if it's a Telescoping saber or normal (back pic would promote telescoping).

I'm not at the 'nuts' stage yet...... I know what I paid for it, and I'm happy withit even if it's not a TS vader.

Originally I gave a buddy of mine 'first refusal' - told him he could just pay me back what I paid and it would be his....... he wants an ESB one more?!  :speechless-smiley-004:

It's on a 12a card, so you never know.   I don't suppose you want to take a paperclip into the bottom of the bubble and try to straighten out that cape. ;)

I've personally never heard of/seen any Canadian 12 back DT figures MOC.  The two Lukes that were bought at a Toronto show years ago were on U.S. cards.  Anyone else have?  (And the 41 back ESB Luke in Jim's book is not a DT.)

I picked these up on my drive home to Edmonton from Seattle a couple weeks ago.  I stopped in Aldergrove, BC to meet a guy who deals in antiques and he dug these up to my surprise.  I almost had to pass on them since the new car we bought in Seattle was literally packed to the roof already, but I was able to make some more room for them, and my wife didn't even complain. :)   They are all in good shape and complete.  I've now got an extra 12" Fett box that I am selling, check the classifieds to see it and some other vintage Cdn stuff I have for sale.

Hey guys - kind of a slow Friday night so I thought I would limelight a few of my summer purchases.  My crappy picture taking skills don't really do the figures justice - but here goes:

Canadian 12 Back R2D2 GDE - very nice card and unpunched.

Canadian 12 Back Luke Skywalker Unpunched - I picked this up from Jim McCallum.

Canadian 12 Back Chewbacca - picked this up on Ebay in August. It does have some edgewear on the left side but the rest of the card is very nice.

Thanks for the comments Dale.  I really like the GDE cardfront but I can honestly say that I never had one as a kid.  My mom was pretty quick to pick up the newest figures so I think all my original 12 were on 12A or B backs.  I'm really not sure if they were available in my neck of the woods or not.

Scott "samseventy" just picked up a nice GDE Ben from Ebay and there was a GDE 3PO on Ebay 2 weeks ago. Pretty expensive to try and get a full run of them

Landram - Treads & No missile launcher $80.

Landram - Treads & missile Launcher 100-150 (No alternate wheel base)

Landram - Alternate wheelbase and all 175-300 (the 300 is the highest I've seen it go for and may be a blip.

Landram MIB with everything - 500+  Depending on who's looking for one, I'm assuming that a boxed landram could end as low as $350 in poor condition, or as high as 1000+ if it's still sealed.  This is just an assumption on my part though, the rest of the prices are what I've seen on eBay.

...and on the off chance someone doesn't know what this is, read up:

You got a great price!  I was basing the price for treads/no missile launcher on what I paid for mine ($90) as it's the only one I've seen sold in that way.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&&item=220050547202&rd=1&rd=1

I thought that one might go higher as it looks to be in super duper condition.

Nice pickup on the gun Mike!  I've yet to find a loose saber myself, but I have a few of the belts hanging around as well.  (Those never seem to sell well on eBay like the guns do!)

It looks like the Toronto vintage market is pretty dead now.  I didn't even bother with the Int'l Ctr show this time around. ;)

I only got $275 out of mine with no missile launcher but it had the box so it's safe to assume that the prices really do run the gamut and aren't easy to peg down.

It looks like the Toronto vintage market is pretty dead now.

See what happens when a toy store in Hamilton closes up. ;-)

Seriously, I don't think it's 'dead' as you put it - just misunderstood.
There's still alot of people that think they'll get top dollar for things on ebay.
I look at ebay as a virtual garage sale - some stuff is priced good, others priced high.

The Toronto show actually had some Vintage at it. Some prices were out of wack, and others were dead on or better.  I think the collectors of today don't appreciate or respect the past of the current toy lines they're collecting.

There is NO reason in the world this Star Wars pistol should of been sitting on a table for 3 hours going unbought. I should also mention, that had I not asked the seller if he had any Star Wars weapons, he wouldn't of pointed it out and shown it to me.

My cost - $2.00 for the gun.

Now if all of this guys stuff was that cheap, he may of had a good day - but I'm thinking he had stuff kicking around and just 'brought it' with him to sell with his overpriced POTF2 figures.

So, I wouldn't say it's 'dead', just no one cares to learn about the Star Wars items that came out before 1995.
It's sad really.

As a few of you know. I've given up collecting new stuff to concentrate on my Vintage collection. This is my latest acquisition. A ROTJ Boba Fett 65 back.

Thanks Craig. Yeah, I'm very pleased with it. Bubble is yellowed as you can see, but it's firmly attached. No dings or any damage to it. Lays flat with no edge wear. Got it for

Honestly, I think this is the only reason I hit this site anymore.

Yeah, I post in other sections, but it's all about the Vintage for me - so when one of my fellow collectors get's in something they need/want - it makes my day.

I wish there was a 'vintage only' site around.

Now if I could just track down the last few vintage things I need. ;-)

I found a nice little vintage collection the other day.  There was an estate sale accross the street from my cousin's place, and he told me to check it out.  There was a loos vintage collection with about 50 figures, and a dozen ships, etc.  Included were an AT-AT that had everything - chin guns, etc, all in great working order.  There was a Y-wing that had everything, including the bomb.  The millenium falcon, including the jedi remote.  Everything was in great shape and not missing any parts, etc.  I was pretty excited.

I finally have something to add to this thread again.

My first pieces of the Micro Collection arrived - the Bespin Gantry and Bespin Freeze Chamber!

I think I'm hooked.  Some of the figures were still sealed in their baggies, but I couldn't resist and had to open them to see their perfect condition.  I know some guys are displeased when the 3 3/4" baggies are opened, but I don't think there's nearly the same feelings with the Micros.

I love the minute details involved and they're even fun to play with set up.  :D

I played the hell out of my micro playsets back in the day, I had both the entire Hoth World and the Bespin World.
Funny story about those playsets was there was a Kresges just down the street from where I used to live and I remember walking in there at about 8 years old and being blown away with how much stuff came in the box (even though everything was tiny).  I wanted that Hoth Playset soooo bad but my mom wouldn't buy it because it was around $50-60 (which was more than an AT-AT if I remember correctly, or right around the same price)!!!  Well to show you how much that line crashed, my mother kept going in and checking on those because the price kept coming down (they were bombing I guess).  It took about 4 months before they were off the end-cap although there were still at least 8 of them in the toy department (4 months after they'd been released)!  I sold mine long ago, but I can still remember the first dicount was half (around $30 off), then half again--my mom ended up buying it for me for $7.99!!!  And they still had some left back then, I swear to God and this was the big Hoth World, not just one of the sets that was included, I was soooooo happy!
Just thought it was a neat story in showing how a line performed back in the good old days.

Just received my MIP 1982 Survival Kit Accessories that I got off of ebay for 18.50 USD.

The package has 4 backpacks, two belts, two line and hooks, two long blue guns (look like snowtroopers') and two different black riffles.

All dated items are 1980.

I'm very happy with this purchase.  Thing is, it'll probably be an item that I never open.

I had a lot of trouble, I remember that. The Dagobah backpack was supposed to hold Yoda - that didn't work - the gas masks were tough to get one.... one thing after another. There are a lot of things that are better nowadays, but the new figures just don't have the same allure as the vintage stuff.

Quick!  Flip it on eBay before people realise how common it is!!! :)

I love hearing the stories about how the molded leg figures turn up so readily, and yet people toss $50-$150 down to buy them on eBay.

Here's my latest pickup - 31 back Debut Lando.

I finally got my vintage Anakin, which had been mailed to my brother in Minnesota a LONG time ago (I typically do this to save on shipping, but it often takes a few months for him to make a trip up here to deliver it).

He's in great shape and included a Kenner Baggie (which had been opened and was kind of nasty so I tossed it in the garbage).

I'm now at 7 more figures than I had when I was a kid - but I'm still missing 4 that I had back then.  :speechless-smiley-004:

Let's get this thread going again!

I recently was able to add and upgrade a few pieces in my Micro collection.  Here's some current photos with the new additions.  I'm still looking to upgrade the 4 Kenner US sets; Turret, Wampa, Gantry and Control room for Canadian versions, and add the items I am missing like the Death Star Commpactor and Hoth Ion Cannon.

Most of the sets are unused and have all sealed parts, inserts, stickers and instructions etc...

Very nice Rye_n.  I just sold Scott a CDN Bespin Gantry in very nice condition. Opened but basically NRFB. All the contents were untouched, sticker sheet, baggies, inserts etc. Perhaps you could give him a shout and see if he'll part with it.

I was going to try and work on the CDN Micro pieces (I had the Gantry and Tie Fighter) but I then decided to refocus on completing my CDN MOC's.

Got this on a Best Offer from Brians off EBAY.

I've just started into Vintage Collecting. I've got a couple other peices on the way mostly cards that are a little beat up, nothing a nice as this one.

One question I had though was AFA gave the bubble an 85 I figured 85 would mean pretty darn mint. The bubble doesnt have ANY cracks or dents but it does have a tinge of yellow - could the yellowing have happened after the grading??
Title: Re: Latest Vintage Acquisition
Post by: MacKillop on February 12, 2008, 09:12:15 PM
Hi Nighttrain. Your image is not showing up for me. Not sure why.

In most cases, if the bubble was starting to yellow before it was graded, it would receive an 85Y instead of an 85.

Just got this one in today, it's a 65 back. It has some flaws, but for my collecting budget it serves its purpose as an untouched Jedi Luke figure on a nice looking display card.  The bubble is fully sealed around the edges and is crushed on the top, but it's not cracked and doesn't appear to be ready to split open anytime soon.  The card is in half decent shape with a few age marks here and there upon close inspection, but it displays well in a star case on the wall. :fighting0003:

My latest SW acquisition, the ever elusive Canadian Open Belly Taun Taun.  This was the first one I think I've ever seen on eBay.

I had to get this one from Australia, they seemed to get a good deal of the last wave of Canadian Empire stuff, especially the 47 back.  Has anyone ever seen an open belly taun taun with a Canadian Retail price sticker?

I recently managed to find a couple of little vintage pieces that have eluded me for some time.  A Taun Taun with the split belly, complete with reins and saddle...pretty decent shape, and also a POTF Security Scout mini rig.  This was one of the last few vehicles released and is quite difficult to find.  I settled for this one loose, and the seller threw in a vintage Leia in Endor garb.

I have never seen or heard of a trilogo'ed 4LOM and have only seen a POTF proof. However it is possible that they may be out there. The one I just got is a sample, possibly first shot fig on a 45-Back card sample card.  If this was found who knows what else is out there!

if you can get a bank loan, i found a couple vintage vehicles at the barrie flea market.
an AT-AT for 399, slave 1 for 180 and the one i want but can't afford, a rc sandcrawler for 369.

I've got one of those too.  It's card is unpunched, but has some slight creasing.  And someone wrote the number 38 on the front in ball point, so that hurts a bit.  Still it's a great figure.

I went on a bit of a tear to end the year I'm afraid :-[

Vader and R2 are unpunched.  My latest trilogos:

I managed to find a few Star Wars carded figures.  They're in ok shape, AFA would be pretty harsh I'd guess due to some damage to the backs, but from the front they're not too bad.  The Sand People figure is a 12-back and fits my category of $100 or less.  I'd have preferred to have the others without the offer, but oh well.

Along the same lines, a few carded ESB figures came my way.  All are unpunched and quite nice indeed.

Finally along the same line as my infatuation with trilogo stuff I also wanted to pick up an example of Canadian carded stuff with the French on it.  I'm always watching the mini-rigs with fascination and my goal is for them to be complete, of course, but also to have the inserts.  This one was a bargain, under $20, MISB.  Not sure why there were so few bids, but I was pleased.  I'm pretty sure I already have a nice Desert Skiff in a good box, but it didn't have the Francais:

Heres a bit of an update on my 4-LOM focus. I've got one more pre-production piece coming in soon too!

Everything:

Pre-production:
ESB 45back carded sample and a Return of the Jedi Proof

A complete Palitoy run...I think:

My Kenner stuff, just missing the ESB offerless, which is one of the hardest vintage MOC to find:

Here is my newest acquisition:

Even though this is an American Kenner 48C it does have the Canadian applied stickers on it. This is as close as it gets to a carded Canadian 4-LOM, no other has been found yet. Samseventy from these boards found it and sold it a while back, I tracked it down and added it to my collection!

I'm finding the 4-LOM stuff is getting harder and harder to find. I've pretty much got the elusive offerless ESB to go and then I've got all the production. In the meantime I'm thinking this piece might sway me into collecting Canadian carded figures. It just felt right to bring 4-LOM back home!

I finally got one of the rarest production figures out there. The Kenner ESB offerless 4-LOM. You can find ESB offerless cards but usually they are from Palitoy (UK release). You can tell the difference between the two as the Palitoy version does not have the white and blue Kenner logo on the bottom right of the card.

The bubble has taken a beating over the years but the cardback is fantastic. Given the rarity of the figure, I'm happy to display it in this condition!

Kenner ESB 48A Offerless:

Here is a pic of the Palitoy ESB Offerless for comparison:

Down to these ones now:
1.Kenner ESB Regular front, 47 back 4-LOM Offer
Kenner ESB Regular front, 48 back
Kenner ESB Ackbar Offer front, 48 back Ackbar Offer
Kenner ROTJ Nien Offer front, 48 back Nien Offer
Kenner ROTJ Regular front, 65 back Ewoks blacked out
Kenner ROTJ Regular front, 65 back Ewoks visible
Kenner ROTJ Emperor Offer front, 65 back Emperor Offer
Kenner ROTJ Regular front, 77 back
Kenner ROTJ Anakin Offer front, 77 back Anakin Offer
Kenner Coin Offer front

Clipper ESB Printed Offer front, 45 back Offer
2.Clipper ESB No Offer front, 45 Back

Palitoy ESB Bounty Hunter Offer (Clear Text Box), 45 back Bounty Hunter Offer
Palitoy ESB Bounty Hunter Offer (Black Text Box), 45 back Bounty Hunter Offer
Palitoy ESB Regular front, 45 back Bounty Hunter Offer (45B)
Palitoy ROTJ Regular front, 45 back Nein Nunb Offer (45)
Palitoy ROTJ Regular front, 65 back Chewbacca Offer (65D)

PBP ROTJ Offer front, 65 back

3.Toltoys ROTJ Nien Offer front, 65 back Nien Offer

There is also an ESB with a Canadian ROTJ transition sticker that was just sold on eBay a couple months ago that I missed out on. I'm not to sure what that one is classified as!

Is that an open or solid-bellied version?  I still need to track down an open-belly version someday.

Ya, it's great.  It's my first ESB card.  My second ESB card, Hoth Luke, is due to show up sometime this week.  I'll post pics when it gets here.

These figures have shown up over the last few weeks.  Pop-up R2 and Romba are mint, Boba is in great shape overall but it's missing the POP which is why I got it cheap, the Rebo Band outer box is pretty rough(c5) but the figures are mint and unopened so I feel it was worth the $42.

I've picked up a few pieces lately.

The last Canadian MOC I needed for Kenner Canada (not counting Yakface as he was an overseas release);

12a Tusken Raider:
http://www.womprat.com/images/figs/12aTusken.jpg

41 back Powerdroid
http://www.womprat.com/ccba/figures/Mikefigs/41CPowerdroid.jpg

And last but not least this bad boy came in today:
Canadian Darth Vader's Tie Fighter (Extremely rare Collector's Series)
Hopefully this one will be an upgrade to my previous one, as they are extremely extremely hard to come by in the Canadian box.

Thanks. These ones are actually in really great shape.  Pictures never do justice to how nice they look holding them in your hand, especially when I'm the person operating the camera.  I don't actively seek pristine type figures.  AFA means nothing to me but higher cost.  Minor veining, small bubble dents, and price tags don't usually deter me as long as the figure shows well overall.

This came today.  There is a scratch on the litho beside the bubble and a STUPID price tag, but otherwise it's an excellent addition to the collection.

What was the comic book guy thinking by putting a price tag directly on a vintage figure?  I don't mind vintage price stickers at all, but this one is just dumb.  I've run my finger over top of the sticker and it doesn't feel like there is a rip under it from an original sticker that he was trying to cover up.  There is a phone number on the price tag, i kinda want to figure out the area code and call and place a complaint.

Some people are morons!  Yeah, the original K-Mart, Zellers, whatever stickers are one thing - although it detracts a bit from the card, it gives a bit of a nostalgic feeling to be like "remember when these were $1.99!".  But to have a nice vintage card with no sticker and then to put the price tag on years later... :speechless-smiley-004:

My Dad, my brother, my son and I went to Dunkirk this pass weekend to an old car swap meet.  Lots of guys in fields and buildings selling old car parts.  But in one of those building what did my 9 year old son and I find? Vintage Star Wars figures sealed in a glass display case.  There were probably about 30 figures.   Now as part of this trip we had discussed with my son the fact that at shows such as this you can negotiate on price.    So I could not think of a better time to get my son to make his first big deal.  So I took a look at all the figures, looking for mint figures that I wanted with the correct vintage accessories.  I found 7.  I asked the guy the price and he said $10 a figure.   Which I thought was a fair price to begin with.

So I got my son to ask the dealer, what his best price on 7 figures would be?  The vendor scratched his head, wondering how much of my son's lunch money he could have.  He shot back $50, that is like 2 figures for free.  I ask my son what he thought and he said that sounded like a good deal.  I quickly shushed him and whispered into his ear that he should counter offer $40.  So he put his best poker face on and said "How about $40?"  The vendor pondered the offer from my son and then said "How about we meet in the middle at $45?"  My son looked at me and I gave him a nod of approval.  The vendor and my son then shook hands to seal the deal.

We opened up the case and went through the figures and they really were in amazing shape and they had original accessories.  Certainly at $6.25 a figure it was a great deal.

At the end of the day, I sent my son back to the same vendor with $6.00 to see if he could make a deal on one last figure.   My son came back with the figure in hand and even more importantly a sense of accomplishment and confidence in his negotiations skills.

I can't wait to see him in action at Celebration 6!!!

That's a great story on many levels, random/unexpected vintage find, good deals, and most important a great family bonding and learning experiance.  Sounds like a memory he'll be able to look fondly upon for years.

Won't be long now 'til Canadian Jedi Jr. :snowtroopers: is posting and showcasing his latest vintage acquisitions.

Thanks for the comments Thirdfloor.  I was thinking today with Star Wars turning 35 today, that 35 years ago I was a nine year old boy just like my son is now today and I was sitting in a theatre far far away being amazed by a movie called Star Wars.   Quite a journey from then to now.  It is great that we both can share a love of Star Wars.

Kenner Darth Vader - this is rather unique because it is a 77back on a US card but it has a CANADIAN Consumers Distributing sticker.  That store was a huge source of figures for me when I was a kid!

Items that i've grabbed over the last few weeks.....(had problems with my digital camera, so for some pics i had to use either the auction pics or stock photos of the items) Very happy with items....punch out books are complete and the Empire Panorama book does have the punch out figures as well, which apparently is had to find.

Got this guy in the mail today.  There are condition issues with the card and bubble, but its my first Clipper card and for the $12.49 that I won it for on eBay I think it was worth the price.  The seller said they bought it in France back in '83, but I'm pretty sure that Clipper was a Dutch company.

Yes, it was a pretty sweet lot if I do say so myself.  I generally like my carded vintage to have very nice cards, and ideally unpunched.  Most of these fit the bill perfectly!

Awesome scores, those are all great figures and all are figures that I still need for my collection.  I have a loose beater Han but with no carbonite block.  I put a pause on collecting loose vintage to focus on carded vintage.  Are you going to try to track down the final 5 during this year or are you going to stretch it out a bit longer?

Here's what my buddies José and Darth Mink gave me for my birthday present this year!

A very nice Vintage Kenner Hoth Ion Cannon from the Star Wars Micro Collection, complete with all the 8 diecast mini figures in perfect shape!

Also, I got the Hoth Wampa Cave with all its 5 diecast mini figures in perfect condition, as well as the box in very nice shape!

It was a real surprise, I was so thrilled to get these! People knowing me understand how fond I am about the Hoth scenes from ESB! I recently was looking at these sets, strongly considering getting the Ion Cannon to put on my vintage shelves in the background. Now my desires are fullfilled thanks to my buddies!  :)`

I was quite moved with the gifts and I'm so glad to have found such nice friends! It's so cool to see friendship rising from this Star Wars "obsession"... :)
