The mail aways won't be directly available in Canada, but we will be able to mail our stuff to the US and pay a couple of bucks more for shipping to get the items sent to Canada than the US. There are three mail away programs: one for the 3.75" line (mail away crystal skull figure/chair); one for the heroes line (mail away Indy with horse) and one for the 12" line as well.

Looks like the 3.75" offer is $5.99 ($7.99 CAD), the AH offer is $4.99 ($6.99CAD), and the 12" scale ARK is $9.99 ($12.99CAD).

I'm definitely looking forward to these figures. Always wanted Indy Jones figures ever since my dad introduced the movies to me as a kid.

I plan to build a German army to rival my Imperial armies. :tongue0024:

Glad they're making characters from the old movies too... I hope they eventually do that guy who takes hearts out of people in Temple of Doom!

I just saw the new Indiana Jones figures at TRU!

Well, not exactly.  What I saw was a couple of shipping boxes for the first wave of 3.75" figures out on the front counter, and they had a shelf date of "Not before May 1."  At least we can be assured Canada's getting them, even if it's not for a couple of weeks.

The one I'm most interested in is the deluxe "Indiana Jones with Temple Trap" set. It looks pretty cool. I'll probably pick up some of the regular figures as well. Indy for sure, as well as any of the KOTCS characters if I like them in the movie. I would also like to see Toht eventually get made. And according to CoolToyReview.com, wave 3 will include:

Dr. Elsa Schneider
Colonel Vogel
Young Indiana Jones
The Grail Knight
Dr. Henry Jones, Sr.

$17 for the deluxe figures?!?! They're $9.99 in the US. What is with the pricing on stuff here in Canada? I understand a bit of a mark-up over the US pricing, even if the dollar has been at par for months, but 70%? That's beyond ridiculous. Comic packs are the same thing. I'd really like the indy with the arc, but forget it if they're charging $17 plus tax.

None of local walmarts had them out this morning( no suprise here) , but did see them at TRU. This is pretty much out of character for me but I did not even buy 1 figure ,although the roleplaying whip did apeal to me ;)

The figures just don't look that great, the Disney store ones were much better. I will probably break down and get a couple and pick up some more when they go on sale.

Now that you have seen them in person, what does everyone think of them? Maybe those who opened them up can give some reviews :)`

Some weird stuff out there.

Zellers - nothing at all.

Walmart - only one of four stores had anything and only a couple of deluxe (tomb trap, German motorcycle) at $16.92

TRU - some basic figs, some deluxe, vehicles.  Reg figs $9.99.  Some of the deluxe scanned at $16.99 but some at $9.99 :sign0065:  I bought the $9.99 deluxe figs - German two pack, Marion and Cairo thug, Indy and Ark, Indy and golden Idol trap.  Rest scanned at $16.92.  Something's screwed up there.

Wanted to buy the basic Indiana figures too, but the eyes were all too buggy.  Even a lot of the deluxe version eyes were screwed too, but I found a couple of decent pieces.  I'd really rather have had the basic Indy with jacket and idol, but couldn't find a good one, so opted for the dlx version.

Don't know how this line is going to do up here.  Too much speed racer, iron man, Narnia and Transformers.  There's a whole wall of Transformers at TRU now. :mad0218:

I also found nothing at my local Zellers (although in my case, the employee told me the overnight staff had misplaced their Indy figures and could only locate the Indy lego toys).

Better luck at TRU where they had put out some deluxe and some basic figures. Not all of the deluxe packs were there (no Ark+Indy, no Marion+Cairo Swordsman).  Since I have a very limited toy budget nowadays, I decided to only buy the Raiders Indy with the fertility idol and the Deluxe Indy with the SA horse (always wanted a SA horse!)

Main criticisms:
- almost all the basic Indys had terribly painted eyes. He looked either bug-eyed or as though he were trying to half-wink with his left eye.  I bought the least silly-looking one out of the lot.  The head sculpts on all the Indys didn't remotely resemble Harrison Ford either.
- while basic Indy has a short neck peg and seems a bit too short, the Deluxe Indy has long legs and is a bit too tall (I'm using my SW figures here as a "standard")
- $17 for the Indy+horse is too expensive; should've been more like $15 incl tax.

Positives:
- you get some nice accessories with Raiders Indy... both the coiled and uncoiled whip, pistol, idol, and "secret" relic in a nice fake wooden box.
- I do like the packaging that the basic and dlx figures come in. Very nice design and form factor. Certainly better looking than the white blandness of the forthcoming SW Legacy line.

Hopefully they will eventually release an Indy that has a way better face sculpt and paintjob. The conspiracy theorist in me says they are waiting on year2 to really pull out the stops on this line so that we have to rebuy some of these characters again e.g. Indy with Gree-style ball-jointed hips.   And I'm hoping for a Toht with optional "melty face" head!

I picked up the Basic Indy tonight at my TRU.. the paint and sculpts are junk.. to put a small point on it, the cashier looked at the fig and said "Looks like Don Knotts".  I grabbed the best of four and I'm still a bit disappointed.  I'll look out for an Indy with Horse.  My Daughter will go absolutely bonkers over the horse.

:mad0218: I've been getting a lot of "stunned cow" looks from the merchandising staff at Wal*Marts...
..."Indi...who?", "the standard..."if we have it it should be...", "I haven't seen any".

TRU did have a selection of items but was far from complete and, once looking at the paint apps, not sure if these'll do well.

Yes, it would seem no one knows anything and poor planning on Hasbro's part. Heck, there's more promo for SpeedRacer than there is for Indiana Jones.

And, to bi&$*, have yet to find Adventure Heroes (or Muggs) anywhere  :sign0065:

And, doesn't sound like it's all that much better south of the border either.

I haven't bought any of the basic figures yet, so I need to ask: is the mail away offer available in the trilogo packaging?  It's supposedly like the VOTC/VTSC sticker thing with a little sheet for mailing away.

Oh and in looking over my Indy from the deluxe temple trap version, he seems to be missing his thumb on his right hand.  Did they cast this thing from a busted vintage Indy figure? :sign0065:
Title: Re: indy toys...wHOOO HOOOO....POST YOUR FINDS!
Post by: napseeker on May 02, 2008, 03:45:27 PM
Just to follow up on winbrant's comments... it was actually a surprise to me the other day that in my TRU, the Indy toys are way WAY in the back of the store. I thought that Hasbro would pay for an endcap display or even upfront near the doors (where Speed Racer toys sit right now en masse).  Instead, the toys are buried near the bicycles.

I went over to Zellers again today just to see if they found their missing figures and nope, they have no idea where they put them (and by the sounds of it, they could care less... no one even knew what Indiana Jones referred to... "is that a movie?")

If it's targetted at collectors, they should have focused as much on the paint ops as they did on the articulation (which is superb for the most part).  Badly painted eyes are always what stop me from buying any figure, even the rarer ones.

It's odd - the Speed Racer toys are right up front, but both Indy and Iron Man have been buried at the back.

Post by: Morgbug on May 02, 2008, 04:34:50 PM
At least they made it out in some stores.  In the US, the Dark Knight and Hulk toys are also out and competing for space with Iron Man and Speed Racer (I smell a loser here) as well as the IJ toys.

My TRUs had the center islands close to the front of the store at least, so not totally buried.

TRU in my neck of the woods as Speed Racer on an island near the front and a front end in the boys dept with a dvd of the trailer playing.  they have an iron man island in boys, a narnia island in boys and ij on a front end.  no sign of hulk stuff.

I have been cruising around the last couple of days in Durham and have found 14 different basic figures still looking for 9 more.   Found 4 out of the 7 deluxe figures.
Found 2 out of 3 vehicles.  I have not seen a German 12" officer yet. And I have found 9 out of 12 Galactic Hero sets.

I am enjoying the hunt for Indy items.  It seems though that most Walmarts do not have any stock yet.  They have Speed Racer, Ironman and some have Hulk items.  Tru is poorly stocked in our area and most Zellers in our area do not have much of Indy stock.

The 9 basic figures I am still looking for are: Colonel  Dovchenko, Irina Spalko, Ugha Warrior, Colonel Vogel, Dr. Elsa Schneider, Grail Knight, Henry Jones, Indiana Jones with the machine gun and Young Indy.

Reporting in from Markham - I've found Indy figures at too local walmarts but not TRU. On May 1 I found only the deluxe Indy figures. I bought Indy with horse and Indy with Temple Trap - got ripped off at 16.92 for each of those.

On May 2 I found the whip, the Mr. Potato, the 12inchers and only a few of the basic carded figures. I picked up the German Soldier with motorcycle and rang through at 12.92! What gives with the inconsistent pricing on the deluxe figs?! I also picked up Sallah on single card for 9.92.

I think with this line I'm going to stick with the original three movies and mainly Raiders at that. The other single carded figs I saw were two versions of Mutt and Indy with an RPG, all from Crystal Skull.

What I haven't seen yet are the vehicles... and I really want that truck!

Got my first Indy (Crystal Skull). Nice. Dissappointed with the 'head' paintjob on an Indy (Raiders). Passed on it. The CS Indy has a remarkable likeness to Ford.

Found a small amount of them at a local store, they had the 12" Indy and Swordsman, and probably a dozen basic figs and the whips. Grabbed the KOTCS Indy (I wanted one where the hat comes off) Good likeness and articulation, but the hands can't hold squat!

I've read of the truck being found at Zellers....I myself will be looking to get it and probably Indy on horseback and the motorcycle along with Henry Jones Sr...The rest are hit and miss. Depends on how much I dig the new flick.

...maybe so,But I'll be after the mail-in's plus the vehicles(PLEASE TOY GODS ,let these show up in CANUCKLAND!)...
happy hunting....

fett1...outt!!! :fett: :r2d2line:

Yup, quite 'crappy' all right. I picked up a Crystal Skull Indy today. Best Ford sculpt of all the others. The Raiders Indy's eyeballs are poorly painted on all the examples I saw here in Kingston. I passed on everything. They didn't capture Harrison at all!! Very surprised at this with the massive progress Hasbro has made with the SW line. Then next wave of Crusade figs look good from afar, but, up close may turn me off as well. Not happy with the product thus far.

As far as the figures go... meh.  I bought Indy from CS, the German soldier 2-pack, Mutt Williams with foil and a Russian soldier.

CS Indy - pistol is not able to go into the holster as it seems to be able to do on the ROTLA version.  Whip fits onto the belt but doesn't coil up well at all (that is to say it doesn't), he comes with a left hand with the Crystal Skull attached and a separate, empty hand.  Hat fits okay but seems disproportionate for some reason.  He also has grey hair, so I guess that's true to life.

Mutt - WTF?  He has a fencing sabre/ foil and that's about it.  Looks like he belongs to the biker gang, Rebels Without a Clue.  Wonder whatever happened to Jeff...

Russian Soldier - AK-47 is pretty darn soft, so it kinda points upwards thanks to Hasbro's packaging skills.

German Soldiers - there is a visible indent around their heads for their hats.  Their legs seem to bow out at the knees... I don't know if this is a manufacturing fault or an attempt to pose them.  Lame either way seeing as the other figures aren't posed.

All of the figures have about the same articulation and I'm not overly concerned about their eyes.  Their joints do feel stiff at first so there were some  :fighting0003: >:( :mad0137: :mad0177: :sign0065: type of moments when I took them out of the packages.

I haven't opened the "hidden treasure" or whatever boxes for fear that it's just a silly prop with nothing in it.  Anyone else opened theirs?

Overall, I'd have to say 6/10 for quality.  I wish I wasn't such an impulse buyer...  :mad0218:

I bought a second set of deluxe figures in order to return the ones I bought for $16.92 from Walmart and realized that the horse Indiana deluxe figure has a variant. He comes with and without facial hair.

Is that a variant or just another example of craptastic paint application inconsistency?

Has anyone seen anything at Zellers?

Saw some Indy stuff in Cdn packaging at Zellers: ... wave 1 deluxe figures - not priced, 2 vehicles - troop carrier & cargo truck 29.99, wave 1 12" figures - 24.99 ...

Updating info - deluxe figures are 12.99. Only the talking 12" Indy is 24.99, the rest are 29.99.

Not sure what you mean by all. All the Zellers (Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton) I have seen with deluxe figures priced have them at 12.99, Wal-Mart is 12.92 now and at TRUs I've visited  is 16.99.  All the Zellers had only wave 1 deluxe.

Finally seen at Wal*Marts in the Calgary area...not a very inspiring location (found below and around the McFarlane sport figs)

From what I counted there only seemed to be one case each of the Basic Figs, Deluxe figs, Adventure Heroes, 12" dolls, and probably 2-3 cases worth of Idaho Spud. The Adventure Heroes had the 6 Lost Ark 2-packs as well as the 3 Crystal Skull 2-packs.

I don't know about anywhere else but it is seeming as if Wal*Mart is not really jumping on the Movie toys (Indy, SpeedRacer, Iron Man) this time round.

Saw the London Drugs plan-a gram and in the main aisle there is the Indy M&M display on one end and movie toys on the other endcap (of a 6' island). The 5' Indy (brown) and Marion (green) M*M look pretty spiffy.

I picked up Belloq, German Soldier, Mutt, and KotCS Indy Jones today.

Which Indy exactly would be consider the "ultimate" Indy Jones figure? The one that has the best articulation, likeness, etc. ?

This was the only KotCS Indy left at the Wal-mart I was at and so I picked it up just in case... I read here that the KotCS Indy has the best Harrison Ford likeness so I bought it. Upon coming home, I noticed that his hat is nowhere to be seen. :confused0024:

This is the one I bought (the one with the rocket launcher):

http://www.hasbro.com/indianajones/default.cfm?page=Products/Detail&product_id=21804

Is there a hat inclued with this figure? Any other things included other than the hat? Perhaps a gun/pistol? I suspect it may be inside the TOP SECRET box... but I want to ask here to get a definite answer. If there isn't a hat with this one (or if I got the wrong KotCS Indy that I thought everybody was talking about here), then I'm going to return it.

******************************************************

Are Irina Spalko, Colonel Dovchenko, and Russian Soldier out yet? I saw some KotCS figures but didn't see them.>:( Were they bought already or did they not come out yet?

******************************************************

#1) Are the relics inside the crates randomly inserted or no?
#2) Anybody know if there's a checklist of all the relics? What comes with what figures (if answer to #1 is "no"), etc.

Chronos88, you want the Indy from KotCS version that is packaged with the 'crystal skull' permanently molded in his left hand. The fig includes another open hand to hold the pistol or whip. Very good likeness of Harrison (Raiders Indy has botched eyeballs - bad paint job common to all I saw.) No, there are no "accessories" per say in the little 'box' included as far as I know, just 'relics'.

Looks like I'm going to have to return this one then. :(
Good thing I didn't open it...

So there are 2 versions of KotCS Indy I suppose?

Here's a great website that can probably answer all your questions regarding the indy line:

http://cooltoyreview.com/Hasbro_IJ.asp

The russians you listed are indeed out, they're in the KOTCS case (Wave 2).
The relics are dedicated to a particular figure, not random. Here's a checklist of the first 3 waves with their relics. Wave 3 isn't out yet:

Wave 1:
Indiana Jones (Fertility Idol)-Chachapoyan Temple Carving
Indiana Jones (Cairo)-Grail Tablet
Marion Ravenwood-Staff of Ra Headpiece
Sallah-Terracotta Horse
Monkey Man-Nurhachi's Urn
German Soldier-Sankara Stone
Cairo Swordsman-Terracotta Warrior

Wave 2:
Indiana Jones (Cystal Skull)-Diamond
Indiana Jones (Rocket Launcher)-The Dagger of Atreus
Mutt Williams ("Fonzie")-Spear of Destiny
Mutt Williams (Snake)-Eye of Horus
Irina Spalko-Cystal Skull of Akator
Colonel Dovchenko-Chalice of Kali
Russian Soldier-Ankh of Osirus
Cemetery Warrior-Funerary Mask
Ugha Warrior-Ancient Arrowhead

Wave 3
Indiana Jones (The Last Crusade)-Chinese Dragon
Colonel Vogel-Battle Axe of Leif Ericson
Dr. Elsa Schneider-False Grail
Grail Knight-Knight's Shield
Dr. Henry Jones-Holy Grail
Young Indy-Cross of Coronado

I'm pretty sure I'm not the first to notice but on the relic Golden Idol included with the Belloq figure... there's some sculpted parts that are "inappropriate for kids".

 :scared0008:

Looks like some kids may be in for a lesson they normally get in health class at school. :speechless-smiley-004:

Heh, well I never paid attention to the details of the Fertility Idol. All I knew was that it's a large chunk of gold in the shape of a face. That's it... never looked closely.

But now that I actually have it in "figure form", I can see it clearly.

I wonder if Hasbro might get complaints from uptight parents... :confused0024:

Is this a first for nudity on toys available for kids?

Sorry for the double post...

To those who have opened the German Soldier w/ Motorcyle set:

What do you think about the German Soldier figure in this set? I'm not very fond of the motorcycle but mainly got it for the German Soldier because of his long coat.

I was wondering how is the articulation of the figure? The legs aren't fixed posed for riding the motorcyle, etc. is it? And is the helmet removeable?

I haven't opened mine yet... want to make sure I'll like it before opening it.  :tongue0024:

I have a beef about Col. Dolohenkov (or whatever) - his hands are molded in such a way that he can only hold the pistol in his left hand, and even then his finger doesn't really fit into the guard.  His right hand holds it, but because of the articulation around his elbow (the sleeves are molded in such a way that it hinders articulation) if he holds it in his right hand the pistol points downwards slightly.

The articulation also prevents him from gripping the AK-47 in a two-handed grip.

Plus he's taller than the other figures.  Dunno if this is intentional or some weird Baron Fel type mess up.

Well, Indy stuff has started showing up more and more now around my area. I've got all I wanted except for KotCS Indy (the one with the crystal skull in hand) and Colonel Dovchenko. And I do somewhat have hope (which is a rare thing being a pessismist) that I will eventually find them from what I've been seeing recently... unlike the dark cloud I had over me when I couldn't find anything anywhere.

A BOGO sale would be nice to help boost the numbers in my German army and/or Russian army...

I just got back from the states. I did not know about the Indy sale but got lucky at a TRU and bought several figures and saved a ton of money (at least after I return everything I bought in Canada!) The Indy sale in the US is "Buy 2 get one free" and it works for the 3/ 3/4 inch basic and deluxe figure lines. I bought 24 (8x3)Indy items including 9 deluxe figures and the cost per item was $5.88 US including tax. They also had the whip on sale for $14.99 but had no stock - Walmart did a price match though for me. I saved about $175. Other Indy finds were the Jungle Cutter and the 12" German figure. The 12" German figure is a hard one to find one with a hat that is painted well - so if you see a good one - buy it.

Regarding Star Wars - No Rancor in the Buffalo area at all - I had customer service do a check. Got the Saga Fan Choice Troopers. Saw the Big Wing Tie fighters at TRU -passed on them - I got one when Target had them out. Got the At-RT Basic vehicle.
Pegs were bare except for hundred of the white stormtroopers with the staff - way too many of them - if you want to army build head to Buffalo.

So much Indy everywhere; wish this was happening 10 and a half years ago when I was a little youngling. Saw tons of Indy product in Wallmart Last Friday. They had tons of wave 1 and 2 of the basic hasbro figures, but I had to pass on most because of poor poor paint apps. Everywhere I go there is always quite the compliment of both single carded and deluxe German troopers on the pegs. The same goes for the SW troopers. Has the army builder gone extinct? There were no deluxe Indy's with horses, temple traps or pitfalls anywhere. Are those the super popular ones, or are they just all being shipped somewhere other than the West coast?

Has anyone seen the 3 different versions of Indy dvds? Boxed special, collector's single movies with cardboard slieve, and some other  single movies without a cardboard sleeve. I hope the special adition isn't messed up like some of the latest SW OTC dvds.

Noticed a packaging change or variation on the Irina spalko fig.  side by side on the pegs so it was easy to see.  one had her left arm straight out to the side and the other had her arm out to the side and then bent up at the elbow.  not a big collector of packaging variants, but if you are, it's out there.

The artifacts packaged in the cardboard crates included with the figures are re-uses of accessories that came with toys from the late 80s and early 90s. I found the diamond included with the crystal skull indy and the horse included with the sala in a box of old toys at my cousin's garage sale. She can't remember what they originally came with because she was a youngling back then.

Cairo Indy had a Grail Tablet
Cairo Swordsman had a Terracotta Warrior statue
Belloq had a Fertility Idol
Monkey Man had Nurhachi's Urn
Crystal Skull Indy had the Eye of the Peacock (diamond)
Indy with Bazooka had the Dagger of Atreus

I have not - still looking when I pass the pegs.  This morning I picked up an Indiana Jones Official hat for my son.  He graduated from Kindergarden today and for graduation they had to get up a say who they wanted to be when they grow up.  My son dress up as Indiana Jones - white dress shirt, brown jeans, whip, a purse from Walmart that looks like his pack, black belt and shoes and of course the hat.  He looked great.  The Indiana Jones excitement did not stop there - we took him out for supper and then he and I went to see Indiana Jones the movie.  We were the only ones in the theatre. We were laughing out loud and moving up and down seats and even making rabbit ears on the big screen. Can't beat your own personal screening of Indiana Jones!!!

Need 2 yellow spoons..PLEASE HELP...PRETTY please... :happy0025:

I feel your distaste for Mini-wheats now, no pun intended...

All I've been finding are red and green spoons...have 2 of each...and only one yellow spoon...trying to recall which "flavour" I found this one in. The red and green came out of Strawberry and Originals and am thinking the yellow might have come from Cinnamon...unfortunately these are getting harder to find in the stores now  :(

Saw the Wave 1 Mighty Muggs in US packaging for 14.99 at TRU.

Found out here at TRU in Calgary, AB...appears to be about 4 cases...gotta love the US packaging.

Unfortunately the implication of this is that, if they haven't invested in generic packaging, this line will be short-lived...

Hi all. Does anyone have a problem with their 12" Talking Indy cracking? I've had him since the middle of May. I took him out of the package and set him up on my desk, where he's been for two months now. I noticed the latex of his face and his latex whip are severely cracked. He's never been in sunlight, and it' snot that dry here in BC. The facial cracks aren't just around his mouth from the talking movement. He's cracked around his ears and between his eyes and over his eyebrows. Has anyone else experienced this?
A few years ago, I had an Interactive Yoda whose eyelids cracked. Hasbro issued a recall and I sent the toy back and received a replacement free of charge. They included a note saying, among other things, "don't leave Yoda in the sun." Well, he had never been in the sun, just like Indy hasn't either. But at any rate, I've had the replacement for years now and it hasn't cracked, so I assume they used a better material for his latex skin.

I found the Indy Mighty Muggs at TRU in Kelowna yesterday. They had all three characters. One each of Cairo Swordsman and Mola Ram, and three Indys. Mola Ram is awesome with his grinning face and "still beating" heart.

...yep...FOUND THIS PROBLEM OUTT with my 1st TALKING INDY 12"er...the edge of the mouth had a slight crack forming, but the WHIP was the biggest problem...it's a sad fact that HASBUTT is using child friendly plastic's these days...these are weaker and softer.
The whip in question ripped quit easily near the handle!oi!
..I called HASBUTT on this and they told moi to mail it back...yeah right, last time I did that I received a replacement of crap!
..So take care of your figure as these are near IMPOSSIBLE to find up here in WESTERN CANADA!
On that note ,WALLYMART has reduced there 12"er's to 14.92 in SHERWOOD PARK WALLLY....Only thing the only figure's that remain of shelf are the CAIRO SWORDSMAN /MUTT!...double oi!

Last night I realized the whip had just fallen into a couple of pieces on the desk. I actually have picked up another one. Walmart here in Kelowna, and TRU have lots of the talking Indy figures still. So far I'm keeping this one in the box and he's okay. I might put him down in the basement where it's cool. If I have teh receipt still, I coudl mail him back, but unless they've fixed the problem, I'd assume right now they'd just send me another that would do exactly the same thing.

AWESOME.... :)

Found all 7 of the new titanium Indiana Jones toys at Hamilton TRU this weekend.

There are 8 in the set:

Wave 1
Cargo Truck
Biplane
Jungle Cutter
Persian Tank
Rocket Sled

Wave 2
Flying Wing
Indy & Henry Jones on Motorcycle with Sidecar
Mutt Wilson on Motorcycle

Also, according to the latest round of Q&A, that is all for Indy titaniums, they're done.

Also, not to encouraging for the 3 3/4 line is that they said they will not get to a Marcus Brody figure. Not surprising that they don't want to get to him right now, since he's an old man in a suit with no real action scenes, but to flat out say he's not likely to get a figure, instead of their usual "no plans for him now" tells me the indy line may not last too long. My guess is a couple waves in 2009 and that may be it.

Overall, not too bad, as I know I was really mainly interested in the major Raiders and Last Crusade characters. The only figures I'd be disappointed to not see, if they don't get to them are Brody and Belloq in his white suit. Toht, Satipo and the German mechanic are all coming in '09.  :)`

I know that wave is supposed to arrive in August but given the TLC figures are barely out in most places, I think it'll be a while yet for the ToD stuff.  Not too worried about production of waves 3/4 but anything after that might be pretty sparse.  Didn't think the line had much for legs and Hasbro blew it with the Mutt stuff. :speechless-smiley-004:

Well, if you're collecting this line and were waiting for Hasbro Canada to screw up even more, they managed to do so.

I found a case of IJ 3.75" figures today (40070092G) and it had the following:

1 German Soldier
1 Sallah
1 Mutt with snake
1 Urgah warrior (sorry about the spelling)
2 Indy RPG
1 Indy Crystal Skull
2 Indy with Idol
1 Indy machine gun
1 Young Indiana Jones
1 Henry Jones Sr.

So the Last Crusade wave looks like it will be on trilogo cards, but they managed to not pack the Grail Knight, Elsa and Vogel in this box, opting to put out stuff that I can find already clogging the pegs at each and every store carrying this line.  Bad form, very bad form.

Oh man... we do NOT need any more Indy with RPGs or Mutts with snake  :mad0137: The only one that makes sense to have 2 of is the Indy with idol which does seem to sell out pretty quickly despite the bad face job.  I'd buy him again if they could just churn out one with a good likeness finally.

I got the 12" figure Ark of the Covenant Bonus in the mail this week. It's fantastic! I love that it was packed in the crate box and just sitting at my door when I got home. They packed it nicely too, with tissue paper so the gold paint didn't get scratched. The "wooden" handles are in a separate bag and you just attach them.

Now the extra cool thing was, the next day, a second package arrived. Same style crate box, but flatter. I couldn't imagine what it was, becuase I hadn't sent away for the Crystal Skeleton offer or the offer that comes with the little Adventure Heroes, because I wanted to make sure the cheque for the 12' one really went through (I had done it back in May). So how surprised was I to open the box and find the Adventure Heroes Indy with Horse bonus inside! No note with it, but I wonder if it was compensation for having to wait so long for the Ark to arrive.

I'm really happy with this promotion. Nice bonuses, and it's just cool because it's like getting the free G.I. Joe or My Little Pony offers back in the 80s with package tokens.

Mine seems alright, no black marks that I can see. That's too bad if yours is marked. I'm so anal about picking the best copy of anything in a store, and I know with mail aways you have to take the chance you'll be sent a less than perfect one. Everytime I get books in the mail, it looks like the warehouse guy dropped them on the corner.

Sadly, it looks like this line has come to an end.  We're probably not even going to get the ROTLA 2009 Wave based on these answers from the Cool Toy Review Q&A:

Cool Toy Review: Is the German Mechanic figure shown in the second Raiders of the Lost Ark wave scheduled for January going to include any accessories (wrench, removable hat and shirt etc...)?

Also, would it be possible to see a picture of the stands that will be included in this wave as well as Mola Ram without his head dress?

Hasbro: Right now, we are not going to be revealing any more details or information on this wave due to the likelihood that it will not make it out.

Cool Toy Review: What is your internal "doomsday date" to determine the future of the Indiana Jones line at retail? Or, what specific date in the coming months is the "point of no return" for Indy's future? Will there be enough time to "rescue" the line to produce and distribute post-Temple Of Doom/Wave 4 if the Indy line indeed starts to sell at a faster pace?

Hasbro: Right now, it's highly unlikely that the line will continue significantly beyond the holidays this year.

It's too bad the Raiders wave likely wont even make it out. I knew it would be a short run, but man to not have that wave come out after they revealed it... major bummer. You'd think they'd find a way since the sculpts are done. Heck they even used the Toht sculpt for the SDCC Cobra Commander.

I don't get why they have to pack *so many* Mutts in each case. Every store I visit these days are jammed pack with Mutt. Week after week, the same number are there... if not more, after a restock.

I know they want to factor kids into their decisions, but if these Mutt figures still remain on the pegs after so long, I'm sure it's a sign that every kid who wanted one... already has one now.

Hasbutt only have themselves to blame for the failure of this line. This line had potential... but it was doomed to fail by them packing way more undesirable figures rather than giving consumers what they want. Why is it so hard to see that Mutt isn't popular???

And I'm still pissed Vogel and Elsa didn't even make it to Canada. They were the only ones I wanted from the wave. :mad0177: I picked up Henry Jones and Young Indy locally just because I didn't want to leave empty handed and so I could at least have some part of the TLC wave. I got a US contact helping me but even the supply of the figures are dwindling in the US where my contact is located.

Can ah get an Amen brutha?  Amen.

Anything else they say is BS, they screwed it up all by themselves this time.

I still think the Elsa/Vogel will show here yet, it's just old school slow time because of the back log of Mutts and Indys.  Not enough room to actually go through cases.  I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see a flood of them on blowout at Walmart in 2009.  Or maybe Giant Tiger.

I also wouldn't be surprised if there's a flood of Last Crusade wave and beyond. I don't think Hasbro was prepared for the lack of sales and probably made just as many of those waves as the first couple waves. Well, maybe not quite as many (even hasbro probably expected at least a mild drop off after the initial wave(s)), but still a high number.

Just think about it; their minimum production run is apparently too high to justify continuing for such low demand. I doubt they knew this before Last Crusade and Temple of Doom waves were being produced. Remember these are being produced months before they hit retail. Therefore this means everything produced thus far is significantly exceeding potential demand. Otherwise the line would continue on. So there has to be cases of the more recent waves sitting in warehouses waiting to be blown out. At least that's my optimistic view. ;)

The exact same stuff collecting dust on the shelves/pegs all through summer. The Indy figures at 3 different Wal-Marts and 2 TRU have remain untouched - literally. I doubt they will move even with this sale.

But hopefully, the sale does do some good and the TLC and ToD figures will start showing once this pile of junk is gone...

Indy figs on sale starting tomorrow at TRU. I think they're $7.50

 :u:

Actually all IJ toys excluding Lego and clearance items (whatever they might be) are 25% off including vehicles, deluxe figures, 12" figures, Mighty Muggs and the playset.

I arrived at my local TRU just as the employee was taking out a new case of figures from the back and putting them on the pegs... got excited in the hopes of picking up a Sean Connery figure on sale and then hopes dashed!   The case was filled with more RPG Indys and 2 Mutts, and other KotCS crap...  :mad0137:

Popped into my local TRU to get a $5 lightsaber for my nephew, and had a look at the indy figs. Exact same stuff, no new cases/figures out for the sale. Sad for Indy fans.

Was at A Wal*Mart this morning and saw Young Indy and Last Crusade Indy as well as the Akator playset...hmmm more Mutts as well.

Also new SW Titanium Wave (w/ colud car, shadow gunship, defender, imp landing craft)...I think I found someone's SW stash while I was overcome with "random acts of tidying up the area" as there was everything everywhere but the pegs!

YES!!!!!!!! THAT'S AWESOME NEWS!!!!

I suppose Henry Jones is the hardest to find of the TLC bunch.
But are Vogel and Elsa figures easy to find now?

What about the ToD figures? Should we expect to see them around here soon as well?

If you mean soon as in December, then yes. ;)

I missed on Elsa/Vogel but did see the Grail Knight (already have).  These are the last two I want as I didn't want to risk the ToD wave on Canadian retail so got it from BBTS.  Still worked out to $10/figure, so Cdn retail anyway.

Look what I picked up today at the big toy show in Toronto...three brand new Target exclusives...  Indiana JOnes Battle Packs.  Even though I have all the figures already, I really liked the presentation, so I snapped them up.  I saw the WalMArt exclusive Indy 3-packs but they were not nearly as interesting and aactually cost more.

I also got the IJ sets at Target down in the states this weekend.  Also picked up the Walmart exclusive IJ sets and the new Truck $20.97 US ea.. The Walmart sets $12.97 ea. are nothing to write home about but the Target ones are worth picking up as is the new truck.  When I got down there all of the Target stores had pulled the exclusive from the shelf and put them in the back stockroom.  The prices have been raised from $15.99 US to $19.99 US on these.  If you want them make sure you go down there with Target stock number in order to get them pulled from the back.

I've been seeing the odd young indy, Last Crusade Indy and knight all over the place, but each store usually only has one of each. I haven't seen the other figures from that wave. A person working at TRU said wave 3 hasn't been coming in waves, just an odd smattering of figures mixed in with cases of waves 1 and 2.
Title: Re: Indiana Jones toys + INDY CEREAL/FOOD TIE-IN's...(merged)

I think the problem is the case assortment. The Last Crusade figures were only coming one per case, mixed in with older figures, when the case should have been full of them. I've only ever seen one Young Indy and one Last Crusade Indy at TRU, and only once. I was so disappointed that I missed the Knight and Henry Sr. that I left them there.  :(

The signs indicated it was a new lower price but I think it has to be a clearance.

It seems like a clearance price to me too since that's got to be way below cost. But what does that mean then for the Temple of Doom wave?  You don't put stuff on clearance and then restock with a new wave after that!  :(

It seems a lot of toys have been taking turns being on clearance at Walmart. First it was the $4.94 SW figures (orig. $9.44), then the $6.94 Transformers toys (orig. $14.97), and now the Indiana Jones figures... $3.92!!! Wow, they must be desperate. :artoo:

And I just bought a 2nd Vogel at TRU for $9.99. :(
Oh well, I'll just randomly buy a Indy figure at Walmart for $3.92 and take it to TRU to return it and get back my $9.99. :tongue0024:

Checked another WM and the figures scanned at 3.92 although the peg said 9.92. Dlx were 4.00 as Cujo mentioned but had only Cairo thugs and vehicles were 5.00. Not a lot of WMs with vehicles these days though. Looks like the clearance is on.

Not all items appear to be on clearance at WM. The one place I saw with playsets still had them at 38.92. Another had talking Indy for 5.00 but the other 12" figs were still the usual reduced 14.92. YMMV.

Anyone know if Walmart has a 45-day price match policy like TRU?  I bought one of the 12" figures 2 weeks ago for $15 thinking it was a decent price but if Walmart lowers it again soon for clearance, wondering if I can take my receipt back and ask for a refund of the difference...  :confused0024:
Title: Re: Indiana Jones toys + INDY CEREAL/FOOD TIE-IN's...(merged)
Post by: old man ben on November 28, 2008, 02:55:53 PM
I don't know how many days their official policy is now, but for only 2 weeks I am sure they would give you the reduction with no problem.  I've had adjustments made in the past for over 4 weeks.

Other stores are reducing as well...Silver Snail had all their Indiana jones figures in a big bin at $2.99 each.  They are still trying to get wave 4 (Temple of Doom) but they think it's highly unlikely as they are in very short supply.

Zellers has cut prices on their Star Wars figures to $9.47 and the BMF to $179, but it may be too late as WalMart is already at $174, and will probably match TRU at $149 this weekend??
Title: Re: Indiana Jones toys + INDY CEREAL/FOOD TIE-IN's...(merged)
Post by: napseeker on November 28, 2008, 03:55:26 PM
I'd be very surprised to see Temple of Doom at Silver Snail given how really bad their Indy sales have been this year (aside from me buying the Henry Jones Sr at full price on a really lucky bit of timing  :) ).  In fact, I still am concerned that such a massive blowout at Walmart for Indy now further reduces the odds that ToD will show up there.  When something is such a money-loser, why order more of it just before a recession?

BMF at $149 now seems expensive given the Costco development of $99.  I guess we are getting our "Black Friday" up in Canada along with the Americans this year.

Managed to score the German car for $5 but the figures were only Mutt/Sallah/Belloq.  I have Sallah and Belloq and still couldn't bring myself to buy a Mutt.  I do have the version with the Motorcycle so didn't see a need for more of him.

I'd guess this is going to make ToD really sparse, as others have said.  I was happy to find (prior to the sale) the TLC wave between Wally and TRU (technically I got Elsa at a Target on a trip south, but I did see her here at TRU), so I've got what I need, except the single carded German soldier.  Never bought the Dovchenko or Russian soldier either, so kinda hoping Wally finds some cases in the back end.

Doesn't the mailaway go to the same place in the US, whether it's from Canada or the US? If that's the case, if they extended it in the US, I don't see why they aren't extending it for Canadians. I'd say give it a shot if you know they extended it in the US. Especially since I believe they accept Canadian cheques. It won't cost you anything more than a stamp to try.

Temple of Doom wave is in Canada, at Walmart, for clearance prices! Picked them up this morning. Canadian packaging. Each case has 1 set, 1 last crusade indy, and some other junk from previous waves.

Only bad thing is I've never seen Vogel, Elsa or Henry Sr., so they may be come and gone.

The online redemption forms at Hasbro.com indicate that all requests have to be postmarked by Jan 1, 2009 ...

Furthermore the back of Cdn carded TOD wave has the Jan 1, 2009 date and checking the Cdn carded TLC wave shows it also has the Jan 1, 2009 date although the form inside still has the old date. YMMV.

There are literally rafts of them coming to the WalMarts here. I bought 3 for my son (Mola Ram and 2 temple guards - I'm getting Shorty from Old Man Ben) and 4 extras for the OPP toy drive (Shorty, Indy, Mola & Temple guard) because the price was so low. There shouldn't be any issue in finding a set of these.

I'll see what I can do - I have to go to Walmart anyhow. They're 3.92 a piece plus taxes. Let's make sure I know the whole wave:

Indy with no sleeves
Shorty
Temple Guard
Head Temple Guard
Mola Ram
Willie

Is that it for Temple of Doom?

Because it's Christmas, I'm in no position to spend an extra $100 on toys right now. I'll need to be sent money up front - preferably through interac. PM me if you can work this out and I'll help you out.

Now that I picked up my Short Round figure I was finally able to finish off my custom version of the chase scene from Temple of Doom. Here are a few pictures...first with the top removed to see the figures, the rest with the top on.

It's not perfect but with a little more scenic background it could be quite effective.

Noticed today that walmart has marked down titaniums to $2 each. I picked up a couple since I really like the titanium line in general. I wish they would make a GI Joe titanium line. Then again, I'm probably better off if they don't, since I would be compelled to collect them!

Anyways, go get those Indy titaniums!

To answer Massacre Mike's question...No, I have not yet put blocks on Short Round's feet, but I may still do so.  There is a bit of room I think that would let me add them...do you think he needs a little cushion under his butt?

I still have a little refining to do to the figures to get them to my liking, as I rushed it a bit to get the photos up.

It's a 1:18 diecast scale model of a 1947 Delahaye that I found at WalMart.  I think the front end is very close to the movie car...although the back end looked more like a Cord or Auburn "Boattail" (which WalMart is also selling right now) but they were roadsters and I needed the back seat.

Here's a couple more photos of Short Round.

well thats reassuring lol. I always thought it was because they were cheaper to make.

I personally think that no matter what Hasbro says, it's because rubbery guns are cheaper not safer.  The stiffer GI Joe weapons are proof of that.

Hasbro can afford better plastic for Joe weapons because so many of the Joe figures use an incredible amount of existing tooling to make the limbs, torsos, etc.  No need to make unique body sculpts means way more profit on each fig.  So they have enough of a budget to use better plastic (and unlike SW, they package the weapons in a way that won't result in bendy guns also!)

I never saw Elsa, Henry Sr. or Vogel in Canada. Luckily I got Henry Sr and Elsa from the US.

Local TRU (Vaughan Mills) was packed with ToD figures and deluxe figures all at full price. Yikes, I wonder how long these will sit.

Am also wondering if Last Crusade is done here, since both TRU and Walmarts are only bringing in ToD wave. I'm still missing Vogel and a Cemetary Warrior from the Crystal Skull wave.

I have found both LC and TOD waves at TRU in Canada.... Last week when I went to TRU there was 2 Elsa.

As for peg warmers for TOD, when I bought my set yesterday, there was an extra of Willy, and the 2 temple guards and today only Willy was on the pegs.

Hasbro has been pretty clear in the Q/As - nada unless there is an Indy V.  Not sure I want another movie, but if it gets me more figures, I'll live with it.

I really only need them to make the figures from the vintage line they haven't yet made in the modern line, but more is ok for me.

There's a checklist here:

http://threads.rebelscum.com/showflat.php?Cat=27&Number=3212768&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=93&fpart=1#3212768

Ark of the covenant (Mail Away)
Cairo Swordsman
Colonel Dovchenko
German Officer
Indiana Jones w/whip action
Mutt Williams
Talking Indiana Jones

I have no interest in these, so I don't know which ones made it here to Canada, but hopefully that helps some. :)

Raiders of the Lost Ark:
- Indiana Jones (German Disguise)
- Marion Ravenwood (White Dress)
- Satipo
- Arnold Toht
- German Mechanic
- Belloq (White Suit)

Temple of Doom:
- Indiana Jones (Tuxedo)
- Lao Che
- Chen (w/flaming shish-kebab)

The Last Crusade:
- Walter Donovan

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull:
- Indiana Jones (with Refrigerator)
- George "Mac" McHale
- Professor Harold Oxley
- Marian [Ravenwood] Williams (Jungle Camp)
- Akator Alien
- Indiana Jones (in suit, Professor or Wedding)

That's a great list. The only thing I'd add to it off the top of my head is Belloq in his safari outfit and a native or two from the opening scene. Be nice to have all of them from that scene.

I never saw the trucks on clearance.  It seemed when they brought in a shipment to clear it only had the German car and the Jungle Cutter.  I was a very bad person and bought an extra German car to exchange at another retail outlet for the truck.  I wanted the cloth top version, but at $5 I could settle.

MIGHTY MUGGS...said I'd never buy em...ok I did...-3.00 ea.

:tongue0024:  ayup, only mighty mugg I own is Indy.  At $3.00 I can get past its general crappiness.

Here is the final instalment of my car chase inspired by the Temple of Doom.  I took pictures from the TV screen of the street scenes to create the backdrop...also to include the Chinese thug's car in the chase.  They are a bit grainy but certainly add to the atmosphere of the scene.

Scored another complete set of TOD at Toys R' US at boxing day for 4.97.... and this at 6:30 PM...... + a Blu Ray player for 99.99 at best buy, it was hidden. Thanks to the toys that teach us to check every corner of a store to find something.

At TRU, there was also plenty of Dr. Henry Jones Sr.

Well, I managed to find a Troop Car at winners for $15. Not walmart's $5, but much better than TRU's $30! So I am now only missing a Cemetary Warrior (and I suppose the jungle cutter and cloth Cargo truck, but they are not a priority.)

So does anyone have a Cemetry Warrior for trade? I have an extra Elsa (US Card) or can probably get a Temple of Doom figure to trade?

Doh, so close! The biggest irony is I had one as well but returned it a while back because I decided I wasn't going to get anything beyond Raiders and Last crusade. Then the Walmart clearance barrage occurred, so I picked up what I could. I'm now down to the cemetary warrior, so not bad.

And the other irony is that I had an extra Cemetary Warrior a while back but I returned it because I needed to raise the money to pay Darth Cujo for his Serpentor with Chariot!  Guess the cemetary warrior is the unwanted stepchild for Indy collectors for some reason!

so i have a question. with all the Indy figures being so cheap now, i recently picked up a bunch for myself. i opened two German soldiers, and while i was moving they're limbs and stuff. one of their arms broke off at the elbow, the others leg breaks off at the knee. now I'm not rough at all with my figures. i was very surprise at the lack of force it took to break. in the summer i bought Indy on his horse and while popping him out of his bubble his arm broke off.  is this just my luck, or has anyone else had this happen to them.

I was in a toy store in the UK today and found a Cemetry Warrior for 3.50, which is about $6. Were you wanting this to open or did you want it on a Canadian card (it's a US card by the looks of things). Let me know if you want it and I'll see what I can do. If I can get it, I'd be interested in trading for a TOD Indy....

I'm back in Canada at the beginning of March if you're happy to wait.

This is probably way too late, but ...

Can anybody help me pick up some Last Crusade figures (at WalMart/Toys R Us prices)?

I've got the Indy, but none of the others.

I'm mainly interested in Henry Sr., Young Indy, and the Grail Knight.

After reading reports about the wave showing up at some Wal-Marts out West and recently at a Toys R Us in
Quebec, I was hoping they would show up close to home.

That, however, doesn't look like it's going to happen.

I'll, of course, pay for cost of figures and shipping. (You can check out my feedback on page 8)

Thanks.

Update: I found Young Indy and Henry Sr. tonight, so I'm good for Last Crusade figures.

breaking. its as if the joints were seized and unable to move. i have had other figures in the past with the same problem and all they needed was to be gently worked in, but these just instantly snapped off in my hand.

Nah, there's just some guy in that neighbourhood that reads ToyFare and caught the issue claiming Short Round was going for $30 online.  Only thing is he hasn't realized that the magazine print to delivery time is 3 months.  Meaning yeah, Shortie brought in some coin - in November or October when the comment was written.

Thats still weird. Why would he ever have been going for any more than the rest of the ToD wave. They're all packed 1 to a case, and I wouldn't expect shorty to be very popular. I thought he was the second most annoying thing about the movie! I'll let you guess the most annoying part.

But yeah, if Toy Fare centred him out, that's probably what happened.

I was in Scarborouogh because I had to drop my MAC off for upgrades - going from 410 gigs to 4000 gigs of harddrive storage .  On the way back I stopped off at the new Walmart Superstore on Steels.  They have alot of deals on last year figures including $2 Batman figures,  $2 Deluxe Indiana Jones figure, $1 Titanium IJ, $2 talking 12" Indiana Jones and the unbelievable $2 for the Large Truck and Jeep.  Don't get too exited though - the Large Truck and Jeep WERE available in large quanities at this new - going from $25 to $10 to $5 to $2 and when they hit $2 they were gone in less than a day - as people were buying them as grab bag items.   Now all I want is an invitation to these Birthday Parties!!!!!  Wished I had dropped in on this store to even pick up a couple trucks at $5 let alone $2.   They still had a large quantity of IJ Titanium and Deluxe figures - the only army builders available are the deluxe Cairo 2 pack - probably 8 of them.

That's awsome OMB. That's one of things I'm sure we would have gotten if the line went along just a bit longer. I would love one of those.

Is the whole thing a custom or is it just the sidecar that's custom and attached to the existing bike? I know the bike hat came out was molded with holes for a future sidecar.

It's just the side car that is a custom.  The bike is virtually identical to the Geman bike issued, with a couple of modifications.  The side car plugs into the bike's existing holes.

They probably chose the slowest shipping possible.

Sounds like pony express? I remember when I got mine last year, it took a total of 19 weeks from cashed cheque.

Just when I had given up hope (actually, stopped caring and forgotten), 4 crystal skeletons arrived in the mail this morning.  I sent the redemption in almost a year ago.

Got mine on friday as well. No surprise they're arriving together, they were probably all sent out at the same time.

Got my skulls figures - kinda neat delivery - we had order a few of them - so they arrived in a large canvas mail bag - like something out of an Indiana Jone's movie.  My son was really excited when they arrived.
