That is what I am wondering. Considering we dont have cartoon network what Cdn channel will this be giving on? Or will we have to wait a year to watch it on teletoon?

Didn't someone mention that CTV would actually be airing it up here?  That's what I've been assuming.

That trailer is pretty impressive - now if that had been the trailer for the movie, I'd have gone to see it in the theatres rather than skipping it altogether. Of course,  you put the ESB asteroid chase music into any trailer and it'll rock (no pun intended :) )

Holy smokes. That looks better than the movie!

Plo speaks! lol

The interesting part for me is hearing Yoda train the jedi, by not fighting etc. That sounds awesome.

I know CTV picked up the rights to this, and I have seen a commercial on Space advertising that they'll have it this fall, but I can't find it on their fall schedule. I tried emailing them, but apprently there is a huge amount of emails so they couldn't answer.

Very pumped!!

i can't wait, haha.

I sent an email to Space and they were great in responding, saying:

"Thanks for emailing. SPACE will be airing Star Wars: The Clone Wars starting on Friday October 10 at 7pm ET and repeating on Saturday October 11 at 5pm ET. For the series premiere there will be two episodes aired back-to-back, at 7pm and 7:30pm ET, but the regular timeslot is Fridays at 7pm with a repeat Saturdays at 5pm ET. Thanks for your interest. "

They then sent a follow up adding that October 10th will now only be one episode, not two. Everything else was still correct.

So is the first episode going to be from the "movie", seeing as the movie was supposed to be the first few episodes? Or is it picking up after the "movie"? I never saw the movie, so it would be kinda lame if they assume you've seen it and start essentially 4 episodes in. I doubt I'd be lost or anything, it's star wars afterall, can't be too complicated, but it would be nice if they start from the beginning.  :confused0024:

Watched it in the US tonight....pretty good episodes.  Liked the first one better than the second one, but the scenes with Plo Koon in the second one were pretty cool.  Not too many all new characters to be made into figures, except the Toydarian King in the first episode.

Yeah, apprently they're shooting for atleast 100 episodes. Given that the first season is suppose to be 22 episodes plus I guess the movie (so 3 more), then we should be going for atleast 4 years.

Should be cool. I guess hindsight is 20/20, but it would have been nice to see this show begin immediately after AOTC came out and conclude right b4 ROTS, but that's just getting picky :tongue0024:

I had a chance to watch the first two episodes on Cartoon network and I must admit that they were pretty good.  The battledroids were a bit corny though.  The violence level is more mature than I was expecting from a tv show, clones still die.  All in all a good watch

WOW. I am really impressed at the Clone Wars TV show.

I think the animation suits television better than the theatre. I was VERY surprised to see clones getting killed in the second episode. The action and themes seem to be geared towards adults more than children which is fine by me. I don't think i'm going to let my 3 year old watch the show. He doesn't watch anything but Thomas The Tank Engine and Kung Fu Panda anyway. Here are my very quick reviews of the first 2 episodes:

Episode 1: Well done. Great action. Who da man? YODA MAN!!!!!!
Episode 2: Pretty dark episode. Plo Koon talks? Ashoka doesn't say Skyguy!!! Better then the first episode

Bring on 98 more episodes George!!!!

My 14 month old son Zach was the kid.  Yes, he has no clue whats going on, but the action and Yoda are things he knows (he has some Galactic hero's, Yoda is one) I look forward to the next couple of years where we can share this new star wars experience as father and son

The Yoda scene in the hideout was my favourite moment... that's the first time in the entire prequel saga (film, comics, cartoon, etc) where it actually felt like the Yoda we know and love from the OT. Naturally George Lucas had nothing to do with it writing-wise, which is undoubtedly why it worked so well.

Funny, in the original clone wars cartoons, the little 5 minute episodes were far superior to the 20 minute ones (at least I thought so).  Now we get these 20 minutes episodes and we want them longer because these are so good.  Frankly I prefer the short sprint to the long marathon, so these are fine for length.

BTW, these are all over the torrent sites now.  I downloaded each episode and they were copied from an HD feed.  File size was about 175MB for each.   Look great on my laptop.

It was also cool because it focused on one story and it didn't have to jump from character to character, very unique these days.

I agree with above, Yoda acted more like his ESB self then his prequel self. Very Cool.

This was the biggest annoyance with the episode. What is CTV thinking? It wouldn't be so bad, except there were several moments when characters were either entirely off screen or cut in 1/2. Terrible and short-sited, but frankly not surprising coming from CTV.

The episode itself was okay. Nothing brilliant, but entertaining. The animation is excellent. I still don't care for the human faces. Not quite as harsh looking as the terrible clone wars micro-series style, but still not quite my style. Dooku for example, looked terrible, but Yoda looked great, as did the clones (when helmets were on, though not too bad with them off) and everything else looked fantastic (backdrops ships etc.).

The battle droids are a major detriment though. Humour is fine, but they just aren't funny. Their ineptness was maybe funny for one joke, maybe two, but if they beat that dead horse for the whole series... ugh.

Overall it was quite enjoyable. I'd enjoy it a lot more if it was original trilogy territory, but this was okay.

Watched the first episode, and for me, the battle droids ruined it. They were just stupid. One lil joke fine, but the whole show? Give me a break.

I didnt mind the way the cartoon looked. It looked great. And glad it's 18 minutes long. But lose the battle droids joking.

Was there a mistake, or my eyes playing tricks on me. Look like one of the clones was bald, then in another shot, he had hair. It was when Yoda was talking to the 3 clones and telling them what each of them bring. I swear I thought I saw that.

It's an underlying theme throughout the series... the clones, though identical, are developing differences based on experiences. They change their hair, have scars, tattoos... all things that lean toward individualism.

No, I meant it was the same clone, one shot he HAD hair, and the next shot he had NO hair. Same clone, just lost then found his hair.

US and Canada have different copyright laws... it may also have to do with the CRTC... but you're pretty much SOL unless you find a decent bootleg download. I PVR'd the show with the intention of burning it to DVD but, like I said above, it ticked me off that it wasn't letterbox... not worth the hassle now.

Sunday on CTV is technically the new show. Friday on Space is the repeat... and unless the US repeated an episode or skipped a week they are ahead of us by 1 show as they aired 1 and 2 back-to-back.

That's right. CTV is airing part II of Malevolence this week and part III was on the Cartoon Network last night (and might be available for download already if you're poking around certain person2person sharing sites named after citrus fruit and audio visual innards).  :rollfloorlaffsmiley:

No, CTV is saying it's episode III this time. We're one week and 2 days behind the US for the episodes.

Yeah, CTV just showed episode 3 tonight. Space has shown the first 2 episodes and the US has seen 4 episodes.

I missed the HD show tonight but got to see the repeat (non HD) at 10, and this full screen thing is really bugging me lol. There is way too much cut out. I'm thinking of emailing CTV and Space and seeing what they say in regards to widescreen versions.

Title: Re: Clone Wars on Cartoon Networks - Preview
Post by: winbrant on October 20, 2008, 08:15:45 AM
That is correct....

The US premiered with the first two episodes and CTV opted not to follow suit as it meant scheduling an hour for Star Wars...which, I'm assuming, they decided it was not prudent given their other series slotted in this hour, which has an established viewer base.

So, as a result they are one episode up on us and, yes, we are also one web comic ahead of what is being aired.

(Side note, great backstory on the "appropriation" of the new bombers...love the politics and the reality behind it...probably what helps to keep this series' appeal to the older fans that check-in with StarWars.com...the justaposition with our current societal systems.)

Wulf Yularen  (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Wullf_Yularen) is his name...eventually became a Colonel and got a Security posting aboard the Death Star (loyalty to Tarkin).

Voice Actor is Tom Kane  (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Tom_Kane), who also does Yoda, and the narrator (newsreel voice at beginning). Lots of SW projects under his belt...since 1996 Shadows of the Empire!

Hopefully no battle droids as well. Ugh, they're annoying.

Anyone else find they use way too many lines from the star wars films in the cartoon. Once in a while is a nice homage. Now it's at the point where it's distracting.

Other than these couple things, it's fairly entertaining.

I actually get a kick out of the battle droids.
And though I liked it when Grievous dropped in on Obi-Wan and said "Hello there", you're right, too much use of old lines isn't good. Establish a new identity! BUt the battle droids as comedic relief is a start. Ahsoka constantly saying things like "That's my master!" is to sitcommy.
But otherwise I love the show. Looking forward to getting that wal-mart exclusive dvd with the CW figures packed in.  Too bad they are all wave 1s that we all probably have already.

Actually he would have said this before he said it in EP III, so this is in fact him establishing the identity, which would make it a new line and an old line in EP III.

Well yes, in the fictional world of Star Wars. But in the real world of writers and tv shows, they copied the line from Obi-Wan. Which was, again, very cool. I liked it. But I also want them to go beyond that crutch. Some of the battle droid lines is a step in this direction- "I was just promoted!" etc.

It's neat that it some ways it establishes (and adds new depth) to a familiarity in their meeting but at the same time it bugs me now that in ROTS Grievous announces, as though it's a big surprise, how he's been trained in the Jedi art of lightsabre dueling.

Perhaps at some point Grievous will forget that he's already had a lightsabre duel with Obi-Wan.

My two daughters think the battle droids are hilarious. They laughed hysterically when they jumped after Obi-Wan and Grievous only to fall to their doom or get hit by the trains. "Roger, roger" is a new phrase my youngest likes to say all the time.

I do think that the new series, along with the movie, are a step in the right direction as far as the clones go. I like how the clones are portrayed as living breathing people, giving that much more of an "oomph" factor when they get brutally killed off.
The episodes so far are made of win to me.

The three Malevolence episodes were great! I really like how the Jedi interact with their clones (Yoda and Plo).

Now considering that the US doesn't have a new episode this week (Halloween), and on sunday we do, that would mean that as of sunday we will be caught up with them.

I'm just hoping that we don't miss a week the following week so that we go back a week again.

First Sunday I've not been working since the series has been on, so the first one I got to watch on my TV rather than on a YouTube quality pirate upload. Decent episode, always good to have some better droids. Regualr battle drids are just not that good of a foe. Still like their goofy comedic relief though. I liked Rex's droid impersonation. Kind of something Solo would do.

those IG droids were pretty darn flexible.  See how they all crouched, bent and flexed their joints.  Seems a bit unrealistic.

I am totaly loving this show, much better then the movies in my opinion. Just wish Grievous wouldn't keep just getting in his ship and running away.
Maybe they need to introduce some new bad guys that could carry a few episodes on there own with out grievous.
To me Grievous is turning into a coward, and that is not how I want to see him.

Yeah- he was introduced in the  microseries as this real tough, badass dude who could kill four Jedi at once if he felt like it. ONly when mace Windu ripped his chest plate open, minutes before the opening of RotS, did he develop a cough and a sense of insecurity. I don't mind minor conitinuity changes- has to happen in a series like this- but changing a major character like that bothers me a little. But I still love the show!

I'm watching the episode now, and I have to say I'm still confused about who the target audience is for this. I thought lucas said it will not be a saturday morning type cartoon due to the level of violence etc., yet the the humour is clearly aimed at little kids. I'd probably rate it at PG, much like a regular star wars movie, but the way lucas was speaking before it came out, I didn't expect the kiddie-ness of it. Feels like they're trying to cater to 2 audiences at once, and it's just not working for me.

And yet more lines quoted directly from the movies.

Oh well, I suppose I should stop posting in this thread, I'm starting to sound grumpy! I'll continue to watch, but with no expectations.

I also got the immediate impression the Jedi robe was there to show that Padme and Anakin had been together and he had to leave quickly and left it there.

And that outfit the way it is designed, I found my eyes being drawn to the breasts.
Honest to goodness even my wife mentioned it..

I too didn't enjoy the latest episode as much as the others.

On another note, hope someone can answer a question about clone trooper armoure markings.
Before I saw the animated series, I thought all phaise I armoure were generic in that all regular clones were white and the officers ranks were signified by the colours on their arms and it wasn't until the phaise II armoure, that the customized markings came about.

After seeing the new clone wars animated show I see customized colour markings on the phaise I armoure, which I totally understand, but is it only the officers and NCOs (corporals and above) who get to have unit markings, or do the privates get them too. I thought all 501st had blue and all 212th had orange. I am not sure where the clones in  all white armoure fit in to all this.

Yeah star wars is tough to understand when ranks and unit colouring is thrown all over the place. I myself am a stickler for ranks and accuracy of it... The clone wars movie and tv shows are apparently the first time that the clone start to colour their armour based on Unit, in stead of ranks (white for trooper, green for sergeant, blue for lieutenant, red for captain, and yellow for commander, in case we werent clear). There are far to many clones in white armour ( in the movie specifically, the tv series has managed to start to paint all of the clones) for this to be true. From what i observed, in the movie, only few clones are in their units colours (rex for one, since he is a captain he should be wearing red, but he is wearing blue). But my theory is that in the movie, they only designated higher ranking clones (NCO and above as you mentioned) in the unit colours. For example, when the 501st captures the monastery, Rex gives orders to a clone in blue markings referring to him as sergeant. In the Battle of christophsis, you will also notice several clones wearing orange markings running around (212th markings). So it is apparent that it is not until the TV series that all clones are wearing the colours of their unit.  An example of rank issues is in the episode with the Rookies, one of them is a sergeant though he wears no green colour to signify this. It may be possible that the plain white that the rookies wear indicates that they do not belong to a specific unit, until the two survivors join the 501st. Its unneccesarily complicated, but that is how i see it... :)

Its just so cool when they have different markings on their armor.
Its makes them more unique and easy to identify like the blue clone with the tear lines on his helmet.

Thanks for the info.

If they're constistant with the markings on the clones then I'm okay with that, but if the ranks and units aren't consistant then I can't help but believe it's just another hasbro thing to sell us more repaints and lucas is running with it. If all NCOs have markings and the privates are all white then I'd expect that uniformity to be standing orders throughout the GAR, but if one unit is sporting customized unit markings regardless of the rank then they better be elete troopers, or special. I understand after a period of time the clone units phaised in customized unit markings, but it better have happened simaltaniously throught the clone army.

If the rank indications from AOTC are phaised out, how do clones or others know a clone trooper's rank and if the troopers helmits have HUDs which tell them which trooper is who then why have the rank coloured on their arms in the beginning of the war?

So many questions that George Lucas won't probably be able to answer.
Title: Re: Clone Wars TV Show!!! (merged)
Post by: CloneCommander1138 on December 02, 2008, 07:44:50 PM
Lol, I here ya! George has to get the guy who directed Empire back, so he can fix the ranks (he did the best job with imperial officer ranks!!!), or Karen Traviss (Republic commando books clearly define the GAR ranks, and why they phased out the colour ranks). I think since the clone wars tv is set right in the middle, it may show a little more inconsistency, but its getting better. I saw a recent preview of an episode, where even the basic troops of the 212th had the colour scheme from ROTS! so never fear, it looks like they are trying! and the HUD thing, i have no clue, i just know the HUD was used at around the middle of the war, so it kinda works here, helmet can be changed. we may never know :)

2 weeks ago it was a re-run of the first episode. The week after it got bumped by "So you think you can dance Canada finale" and this week it got bumped again... by "Anne of Green Frickin' Gables"? I think CTV is helmed by a few of those pea-brained Battle Droids! (But I just got promoted!)

Those were a couple of great last episodes. Too bad the boobs at CTV can't be bothered to air them on time. I guess they don't care about their advertising revenue loss.

Has CTV aired them the past 2-3 weeks?  from the listings and TV Guide, its not shown.

NOPE...DANCIN' STARS AND OTHER GOOFS AND BOOBS HAVE BEEN ON :mad0218:  :sad0064:...HOPIN' TO SEE SOME NEW EPISODES(NOW OLD IF YOU LIVE IN THE US)...very soon...check previous posts... :fett:

I am very dissappointed with this CTV lack of showing.  This was a ritual for me and my 4 year old son, we would watch together on Sunday night.  He (and I) would get so excited all week in anticipation.    So has anyone confirmed when it will be coming back to CTV?  They dont even show the old episodes on their online viewer anymore, it doesn't look too promising.  Space is just replaying the old episodes.  I tried the link above to view the new episodes online  and nothing (the page hasn't been created???)   Any suggestions would be good!!!! I cant even come up with a definitive answer for my kid!!!

I'm sure CTV has first airing dibs which is why Space runs the repeat episode.

I can totally relate to the disappointment you feel. The Sunday night ritual is the same for me and my two daughters. It really sucks when they are all excited, have gotten their pajamas on and are all ready to watch only to find out that a bunch of old crows in a boardroom have nixed the showing.

Just a note, I read the TV listings for this Sunday & checked it online. No show tomorrow night showing, CTV is showing So You Think You Can Dance Canada for that time slot.

With that in mind, we will be behind the US now.  :shakehead:

Tho you can watch the episode & the previous ones online. (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/Smileys/classic/lipsrsealed.gif)   ;)

The above is the link I have been using and it does work.  I am the same as Hellboy and Darth Chadus - my 6 year old son and 8 year old daughter have gotten into watching it on Sunday night so now we follow this link and watched the latest on the net.  Keep clicking when you get to a page that says are you human - click it and then you ready to watch it.

Canada’s Most-Watched TV Series Return to CTV’s White-Hot Winter Schedule

- # 1 series AMERICAN IDOL anchors Tuesday and Wednesday nights -
- New episodes of hit series FLASHPOINT return January 9 -
- THE BIG BANG THEORY and TWO AND A HALF MEN join CORNER GAS in an all-new Monday night comedy block beginning January 5 -
- Hit Fall series FRINGE comes to CTV beginning January 6 -
- Must-see specials THE GOLDEN GLOBES®, SUPER BOWL XLIII® and THE OSCARS® return -
- Steven Bochco’s RAISING THE BAR premieres on CTV January 9 -

CTV revealed a midseason schedule today starring the hottest series on television. The schedule officially kicks off the week of January 5 with a new Monday night comedy block; the move of FRINGE, one of this fall’s biggest hits, to CTV on Tuesday, January 6; and the return of the hit CTV original series FLASHPOINT on Friday, January 9. Anchoring it all is the #1 television program in the country, AMERICAN IDOL, which returns with a four-hour, two-night, eighth season premiere on Tuesday, January 13 and Wednesday, January 14 at 8 p.m. ET. New to the schedule is the legal drama RAISING THE BAR, beginning Friday, January 9 from Emmy-Award winner Steven Bochco (NYPD BLUE, HILL STREET BLUES, LA LAW) and starring Canadians Currie Graham, Gloria Reuben and Jonathan Scarfe.

Viewers can also look forward to the highly-anticipated series finales of ER on Thursday, March 12 from 9-11 p.m. ET and Canada’s #1 comedy series, CORNER GAS (date TBA). See “Schedule” below for a night-by-night listing of programming.

The announcement comes as CTV continues to chart eight of the Top 10 programs on Canadian television this fall - not only among total viewers, but among A25-54 and A18-49 as well. CTV also lays claim to Canada’s #1 program overall and #1 drama (CRIMINAL MINDS), and Canada’s #1 comedy series (CORNER GAS). CTV’s average primetime audience this fall (1.414 million) continues to distance itself from the competition, delivering nearly double the number of viewers in primetime than Global (734,000).*

“The midseason schedule picks up on the momentum of Canada’s # 1 Fall schedule with the return of Canada’s favourite series, blockbuster finales and special major events,” said Susanne Boyce, President, Creative, Content and Channels, CTV Inc.

Additional highlights include:

• THE BIG BANG THEORY as well as current Top 20 hit TWO AND A HALF MEN join CORNER GAS for a Monday night primetime lineup full of side-splitting comedy, beginning January 5
• The Emmy Award-winning series THE AMAZING RACE returns for a fourteenth season on Sunday, February 15
• All-new episodes from Top 10 hits CRIMINAL MINDS, GREY’S ANATOMY, CSI, CSI: MIAMI, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and LAW & ORDER: SVU

The dancing show from 2 weeks ago, is a CTV production, so of course the clone wars wont be shown. And last night, is another CANADIAN show, this is why it was again not shown.

Dont get me wrong, I also like the toons, but if you think about it. CTV will air their shows, and canadian shows over star wars.

No more new episodes til Jan 2nd of 2009.  I believe space and cartoon network would be airing marathons to showcase the whole series so far.

Is there any word whether CTV has indeed cancelled airing of this show on their network?

Is it just me, or is there not enough focus on the "war" part of Star WARS the Clone WARS? where are all the epic battles??? Like Revenge of the sith shows.... its not as tame as the Clone wars displays it.... i mean come on! With the technology they have at their disposal, cant they produce thousands of clones to fight a war instead of every episode having like six clones each... and Jar Jar Binks???? PLEASE STOP WITH JAR JAR... he is ruining the show like he ruined phantom menace. I thought this was the clone wars, not jar jar screws up the clone wars. He started the war in the first place... that should have given everyone ample idea into how stupid the character is. I know its a kids show, but even the kids these days hate Jar jar. Im also tired of this whole capture the separatist leader story plot stuff...who cares... i want to see the clone wars how it is portrayed in books, the original clone wars (which created a much better rendition so far on how the clone wars was fought), and video games. I hope Dave filoni fixes these problems soon, because it is a good series, i enjoy the Greivous story line and the Little missions from time to time, and maleavolence (my favourite part, because it was an EPIC battle)... what happened to battle of cristophsis style war fighting... that battle was epic.... i want to see more epic battles and less jar jar fueled stupidity.
And there is my rant for now! :P

I think these shows are more focused on the Jedi and, although at times I'm sure they commanded huge battalions, we tend to see more tightly knit operations. I'd get bored if it was just huge battle after huge battle every week.

Jar Jar is still annoying, but I find him less so in this series. Perhaps we will see him grow into the quieter Gungan Senator that he is destined for (in as few episodes as possible).

Episode 10 was probably my favourite so far. A Mon Calamari jedi and a vicious Greivous.. what more could you want?
Title: Re: Clone Wars TV Show!!! (merged)
Post by: CloneCommander1138 on January 05, 2009, 11:21:50 PM
Yeah i understand what your saying, i personally love the greivous story lines. But i havent seen any major battles since the movie. (malevolance was close)
Title: Re: Clone Wars TV Show!!! (merged)
Post by: napseeker on January 05, 2009, 11:58:45 PM
It may just be due to the fact that being a TV show, Lucasfilm isn't able to budget larger fleet battles (like the kind in RotS).  More ships means a lot more rendering time per frame, more animation and models to coordinate, more explosions and laser/particle fx, etc.    TV shows operate on very tight deadlines so render times would obviously factor into that.

Otherwise, they may be leaving the major battles for season finale/season premieres to really give a bigger bang to the story (if we got big fights every few episodes, then it'd dilute anything we'd later see in a finale).

Binks isn't as important as the title says. He doesn't hug all the attention like in Bombad Jedi.
The clone troopers even found a way to exploit his goofyness to get out of a pinch.

I'm starting to find it quite humorous that an unranked clone in The Clone Wars is pretty much the equivalent of a red-shirt crew member beaming to the surface in classic Star Trek.  :rollfloorlaffsmiley:

Loved Jedi Crash. The opening battle was quite spectacular. I do wish they'd pay a little more attention to physics though... ie: a gunship coming to a dead stop after crashing full-tilt into the hull of a republic battle cruiser shouldn't be considered a parking job smooth enough for passengers to hop off like nothing happened.
Title: Re: Clone Wars TV Show!!! (merged)
Post by: FamilyMan on January 22, 2009, 11:08:01 AM
My wife also commented on the fact that the Gunship was still not in the atmosphere yet, but they had the blast doors open and the Jedi were able to breath perfectly fine.

But come on, more clones please, after all it is the "clone wars" not the jedi wars with clone back up...

I wanna see clone troopers at their best I mean come one they are after all a heck of a lot of Jango fett's after all. Lets see some serious kick butt action with clone troopers.

Keep up the good work all involved.

You have to scroll down to SW, as for the pops, I only get the one.

Give this   site  (http://www.ninjavideo.net/video/17733) a shot, works just fine just clicky the blue site.  ;)

Update: Just scroll down below the player to find all the episodes.

Sorry to hear that...I've never had that issue. I've been using it to catch up on missed episodes of "whatever I'm watching" when I forget to set the VCR (that's right...no PVR yet  :mad0218:)

Is it just me or do the 2 prts episodes seem to short, They seem to wrap things up to quickly.
Still a good episode though. Next weeks look like it has potential..

I was pretty happy with this weeks episode. Cant wait for the early snowtrooper episode, looks like they used some of the McQuarrie Concept art for the Clone Snowtroopers. I would actually like to see longer stories, like the Malevolence Trilogy style episodes.

if you read the full report about the 4 episode DVD coming, it states that they will also be releasing a second 4 epiosde DVD, but are also working on a multi disk season 1 set to be released late 2009..
I think I will just wait for that to come out. I have every episode saved onto my laptop so I can watch them anytime.
Wonder if in a few years they will release special edition versions. lol..

Yes I agree its very nice to see that the clone wars isnt following a "made in stone" timeline. That yes generally we can watch them in order but sometimes its nice to have a "so how did we end up in such dire straits?" one offs every now and then. especially since we are heading into a final strech that will start to seem more like a couple of long episodes instead of 6-7 episodes.

I watched the double episode (17 & 18) with my girls yesterday. Not bad. Padme sports a couple of new outfits for figures and we get a preview of the Death Star technology in the second part.

The preview for next week leads me to believe it's a repeat of Ambush which may be why they chose to run 2 episodes this week. Anyone know of a special event in America next week that would cause a pre-empt? When are the Oscars?

Does anyone else notice that all the jedi characters completely forget at one point or another that they can use the force? Like in Deserter, when grevious is escaping, obi-wan climbs up and makes a futile attempt to grab grevious with his hand. Why didnt he just jumP??? or do what mace windu did in the mini series and force crush him...i dunno. It just seems that jedi characters are a little stupider in the series.

Another example is from the mandalore plot episode preview... A bomb goes off right in front of kenobi and he barely even sensed anything before hand :sign0065: :sign0065: :sign0065:

...obi-wan climbs up and makes a futile attempt to grab grevious with his hand...

Maybe Obi-Wan realized Grievous had the higher ground and thought twice about jumping over him...  :winking0071:

Mace has special force-skills that allow him to focus the force to a point... I forget what they call it... something about fractures... but it's also what he used in the episode to break the glass on the fallen AT-TE and rescue the trapped clone(s).

Obi-Wan was obviously distracted by his (former?) girlfriend in the preview so I don't think he was actively looking to sense anything out of the ordinary like a hidden explosive.

i'm wondering what everyone thinks about the new mandalore arc (now that i'm caught up on it :P )
personally, i don't really care for how they represent the mandalorian people. the dutchess is an interesting character on her own, but her whole hippie, peace-loving pacifist mandalorians are far from what karen traviss and other authors have established. the deathwatch is closer to how the "real" mandalorians should be, and i really think that in the end, they'll come out on top. i just can't see them just going entirely against everything thats already been established here... :fett:
(on a side note, the mando soldiers are pretty awesome looking! ;D)
Title: Re: Clone Wars TV Show!!! (merged)

I just assumed all the Mandolorian lore is based on an older timeline than anything Clone Wars related... I've never read any of the books. I also figure that once a society evolves past a testosterone-charged governing body things change for the better so the arc works for me.

I didn't care for all of it, though parts were good. I liked the Concordian dialect(darasuum kote=Eternal Glory) and Tal Merrick the most. The Assassin vs Obi-Wan was good in the third episode as well.

Most of the other stuff I didn't enjoy.

Fair enough, but recently its been focused too much on the politics... and the next few (according to Wookieepedia) involve more of the the same...although i did enjoy that greivous storyline recently.

I enjoy the Grievous stuff too but they can't use him too much especially with Anakin and Obi-Wan ... since Grievous never 'met' Anakin before ROTS and I think they've pushed the limit with Obi and Grievous meeting in the show

Yeah that is a bit of a barrier....hopefully they bring on some more villains, or revisit some old villains like Aurra sing (maybe with a lightsaber) or some other character. Its likely Pre Viszla (although really cool) will be killed off soon...or maybe not. anyway...i hope this show doesnt slow down again, they need to get episodes out on time too..

Another somewhat political show Friday night. Murder mystery though not much of a mystery. It was nice to see the Senate Guards are taking on a more "Royal" look.

I love  old war movies, and I love submerine movies. and this one had a very submerine feel to it. I loved it..  And yes I thought the ship had a very space 1999 feel to it. I liked the new clone pilot helmet aswell, kinda like the warhammer 40K marines..

Did anyone notice the Phase 2 clone armor at the  begining of the recent "Senate Murders" Episode It was quite clear... I thought they would at least wait till season 4 or so to debut it but to me it looks like it might be sooner.

You must have watched a different CTV program than me... at least Teletoon was a week ahead of the US for a while. I'm sure we've dropped back a few episodes because there are only a few new episodes left and Canadian sweeps week is probably coming. Gotta make sure there is full viewership during those weeks to show advertisers what they are paying for.

Well I just watched episode 20, with young boba, very cool. I liked the episode. I didn;t think ti was out yet.
But it is...
and it is worth the download..
Does that make us three behind now?. have they aired the first part of the two part zillo beast story?. if not then we are three behind, the Zillo beast part 1 and part 2 and now the young boba episode.

I think we are 2 Episodes behind the US and 3 Episodes behind places like Australia? I was reading posts on SW.com and people in the US were complaining that spoilers were being blabbed by someone in Australia.

Here's a link to the Boba episode http://tvshack.net/tv/Star_Wars__The_Clone_Wars__2008_/season_2/episode_20/ (http://tvshack.net/tv/Star_Wars__The_Clone_Wars__2008_/season_2/episode_20/). Not the greatest quality but if you just can't wait for the Teletoon airing.

The last episodes (21 and 22) aired last night.  Pretty good finale, not sure I like the approach they used for Fett, but it was entertaining none the less.  There's a preview for season 3 on starwars.com.

Last night's episode was okay, I was surprised to find myself actually bored despite all the action.  Not sure why except that I didn't feel any tension in the scenes... you could almost predict with ease there was some creature underground, clones would die to give some sense of "threat", and that the Jedi would prevail.

Now they're hauling it to Coruscant for no other good reason than to continue the King Kong theme, so ugh, not looking forward to what happens next week when it inevitably escapes and wreaks havoc on the big city. Will it (gasp) capture Padme and carry her up One Republic?

Heh, heh... The Zillio Beast episodes were just okay. I'm mostly getting tired of the "hommages" to other movies... Godzilla, Alien, the Hidden Fortress... meh, just give me originality please. It would be pretty nice to just do Star Wars.

Actually I think the Boba Fett story could be one of the highlights through the coming seasons.  He is conflicted right now - good vs. bad.   But when a Jedi cuts your Dad's head off and all the Jedi can say about it is that it is unfortunate that he saw him do it - you'd be conflicted to.
