Wampa Cave / Re: Movie set in Tunisia
« on: October 15, 2008, 12:54:53 PM »
I was lucky enough to go to Tunisia when I was younger with my parents and got to see those sets too and it was amazing! Back when we went it was a free thing, hopefully still is.

You can also visit the underground pit room used for a couple of shots in the Lars homestead scenes and there's a little town where they have the underground pit-style homes that you can visit for a small donation as well.

Tunisia is amazing and near tops my list of return travel spots. Airfare wasn't cheap but traveling in the country and accommodation was very affordable - and some of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at.

A definite Star Wars mecca if you can make it!  :)

Wow! those are great! You obviously have a great eye for composition - please post more if you can get around to it...

I'm not all too pleased these days of OTC and ROTS, but I dont really have a big beef with Hasbro... overall im very happy with the quality of the figures old and new and I just have to respect they dont follow the same philosophy for making as I do buying..

i.e they want to load people up with rehashes and troop builders whereas I want every character seen on screen to make it to plastic at least once.

The Empire is pleased to announce the expiration of the notorious rebel Eve-Mac-Lintor, who 9 days ago was callously forced to crash on a speederbike by Greedo.  This incident occurred in a cantina in the Spice Mines of Kessel.  The deceased was reported to have shouted "I'm your father!" just before expiring.  Eve-Mac-Lintor was reportedly accompanied by an elderly reclusive uncle who fled the scene.  To celebrate this important victory, the Emperor will take the Death Star for a pleasure cruise.

oh dear, the genetics alone are mind-boggling  :scared0008:

It's cute enough as it's own display piece but generally I find it annoying as it wont fit the majority of my figs and a lot of em fall out anyhow...

still for 10 with two pack in's can you go wrong?

That Subject title can by mis-interpreted on so many levels...

Darth Torment
why be clear when you can be tacky?  ;)

1. Who Are Your Top 5 Characters? Nute Gunray, Taun We, San Hill, C-3PO, Probe Droid

2. Bottom 5? Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Mace Windu, Yoda, Dengar

3. Top 3 Planets? Kamino, Yavin IV, Coruscant
4. Bottom 3? Dagobah, Naboo, Mustafar

5. Favourite 3 Ships? Jabba's Sail barge, Imperial Shuttle, Queen's Starship

6. Favourite Alien Race? Nemoidians

7. Single favourite "scene" in SW: Obi Wan on Kamino

8. Rank the movies from best to worst:
Attack of the Clones
Return of the Jedi
A New Hope
Empire Strikes Back
The Phantom Menace
Revenge of the Sith

9. Which character is the most like yourself?
a cross between Jar Jar and Padme

10. If you could be in the movie, how would you die? I would be powdering my face for an imperial function (as a lady of the court or empress naturally) and someone would switch my face powder with one with toxic levels of metals in it... So Id pass out in the middle of the opening speeches and die to great commotion.

11. Favourite EU story you'd like to see made on screen? (assume it would be handled well)
Thrawn Trilogy for sure

12. If you could chose to live in the SW universe after you die an earthly death, would you? don't believe in heaven so yes.

6. Favourite Alien Race?
7. Single favourite "scene" in SW

Wampa Cave / Re:Snowtroopers, Whats your Deal?

What year did you start to seriously collect?
200-ish I think

What is your pride and joy of your collection?(POST A PIC!)
I don't care much for rarity or worth so it would be something pretty common I spose... Probe Droid, maybe the POTF2 Falcon

What item is your "Holy Grail"?
Nothing jumps to mind... Imperial Shuttle maybe

What is the item you want to be seen made most?
A giant kamino playset/diorama or a Trade Federation Starship with pack in Tey How

What was your first SW film ever viewed?
I saw a bit of ROTJ soon after it came out, and then full films when I was 12-13

How Old are you?

What do you collect?
Star Wars, and I still have mostly uninteresting collections of Pokemon cards (loves me some Weepinbell)

Do you open your figs are keep them sealed?
Open them all

Do you have any focus shelves/ collections on the go?
Not understanding what that is, Ill say no

When do you plan to stop/ When will be enough?
When I get all the characters I like Ill be close, but I might collect until I have all the ones I at least feel neutral about...

Wampa Cave / Re:First Starwars Memories.

I might have seen it when I was younger but I dont remember in any case.... I remember watching it with the kids I was babysitting when I was about 12-13 and when the camera panned to the Blockade Runner screaming by I knew this was going to be a completely addicting experience...
A year or so later I was wandering around in a collectible shop (for pokemon cards I think) and I saw the probe droid.... And I totally identified with it for some strange dissasociative reason and bought it... never looked back.  :(

has a few pics and some info ... and have you tried

maybe when it's all up and running you could add a comments/reviews feature and we could get the place going by flooding it with some noisy opinions  :D
cheers, it looks gorgeous so far
