Best of luck with this project; it has a "go big or go home" sense to it.

Maybe we'll see you on Dragons' Den some time soon?

Star Wars Movies & TV shows / Re: Lucas "retiring"

Especially the implied killing of children - this never should've been done. In AotC, we can see him wanting to kill every Tusken in sight, but how much better might he have been perceived as a heroic figure if, somehow, he managed to find a way to control himself at the last minute?   Then telling Padme later, "I came so close... I came so close..." that would've earned her respect (and love) moreso than confessing that he slaughtered a bunch of women and kids, and then... she marries him?!?

I can understand that Lucas probably thought that if he shows Anakin doing it in AotC, it's the next step to him killing Jedi children in eps3, but to me, kids are kids... he's already gone to the darkside by killing them, no matter what race they belong to.

I think the Tusken slaughter would've worked better as a secret shame that he never reveals to Padme or anyone else. This would work better in terms of the psychology of both the characters (traumatizing yet seductive power for him and Padme knowing something dark is in Anakin but not knowing what so she can marry him without looking like the supporter of a genocidal maniac). Letting the audience know but none of the other characters adds tension for the viewer too.

So much of the prequels feels forced and even illogical. Lucas needed to get a room full of Star Wars fans and have the script vetted by them. :)

On another note, it irks me to hear phrases like "this is where the fun begins" - hey, that's Han's line!- "how rude" (leave that for 3PO), and other recycled dialogue used just to make it Star Warsy.

I thought he might be hung on the wall as a stark reminder that when nobody questions the lame ideas of billionaires, things can go horribly, horribly wrong.

One of the comments under the story was:

"Talk about NOT knowing your material... Episode one didn't even HAVE dark vadar in it... (well technically his child form... but not as a villain)"

 - I was thinking "neither did the other movies" lol

Pffft - that's just their overzealous nerdotry if you ask me. Our brains take ambiguous information in the context it's in and it fills in the blanks with what makes sense. Luke screaming "no!" makes perfect sense after what Vader says, it kinda sounds like he does, and it's what I thought Luke said for over 28 years. Without the script to help "hear" the 'never!' line, I'd probably doubt it was there. People hear wrong song lyrics all the time, same thing. :)

Yeah, same here, maybe not clearly, but I can hear it if I really try. Anyway, as I said, I don't have a problem admitting I've been hearing it wrong, only that I wasn't somehow "defective" for doing so as some on the rebelscum site seemed to suggest. That can be such a weird place sometimes...

I hopped on the ol' youtube to watch the scene again. I always thought he gave out a "Nooo/arrgh" shout. After replaying the couple seconds over and over I actually can here the "Never!" quite clearly (he says it quite fast). Between the echoey sound, the lightsabers, vader's breathing and music, it's easy to miss.
