Lego / Re: 2012 Star Wars Lego Sets
« on: August 28, 2012, 06:33:47 PM »
For anyone interested TRU currently has Gold Leader's Y-Wing (9495) at 55.97$.

They've got a few other older sets on sale too - I think 8038 The Battle for Endor, 7879 Hoth Echo Base, maybe the newer X-wing still, the Falcon, a few others. Can't be sure, the tags at my store were a bit of a mess.

The old sets are still on sale, at least they were when I went. The newer sets like the Falcon, X-Wing, etc. those were last week's flyer sale iirc.  ;)

For anyone interested TRU currently has Gold Leader's Y-Wing (9495) at 55.97$. It's part of this week's flyer, so you got till Monday September 3rd. They also have 25% off Lego Electronics and SW shouldn't be excluded as the Vader alarm clock is part of the image.

As for Palpatine's Arrest, it's a TRU exclusive. They announce it as an exclusive on their website.

Non-Star Wars Toys / Looking for opinions
« on: February 27, 2012, 04:16:00 PM »
Perhaps this would have been better placed in the High End forums, but oh well.

While looking through the Assassin's Creed newsfeed on their Facebook page, I stumbled upon this. I'm a huge fan of the franchise and I'd jump on it immediately if it weren't for the price... I could easily find a way to justify the price to my wallet if I wanted, but as I've never actually bought any Sideshows before and know no one around these parts that have, I'm a little hesistant on it.

Basically, I'd love to have opinions on this branch of collecting before I put forth a deposit on this. And, am I wrong in assuming that Hot Toys are now also part of Sideshow?

Scout Report / Re: TRU Sale All figures 40% off Feb 24 - Mar 1 2012

You guys probably already know this, but I asked an acquaintanec at my local TRU when he thought he'd receive the Deleted Scenes Wave. Said that it usually takes about a month after they've appeared in the States before they show up around here. No idea if it's the same way for everywhere else in Canada...

Scout Report / Re: Attack on Hoth Battlepacks 1/2 price $30 + shipping

But considering Meegari found it via ebay.ca, there might be a possibility that they ship to Canada. You just need to ask the seller.

Wampa Cave / Re: Dress Uniform
« on: February 20, 2012, 04:57:13 PM »
There probably is one, what it looks like though I have no idea. The only dress uniforms I'm familiar with in the GFFA are those worn by Rebel Alliance/New Republic Starfighter Command.

Perhaps it's a shinier, less practical version of the every day uniform added with a sash or some other accesory?

Wish I had read this earlier today, would have avoided me an unpleasant shocker at Zellers. And I thought TRU was bad with their 10.99$  :speechless-smiley-004:

Wish I could have found him for you, especially as they had them on sale, but he wasn't part of the four left. :(

One of the little shops I occasionally deal with claim to still have him on their website, but their online ordering is rather wacky, so I haven't tried it yet lol. I'll most likely go shop up there sometime soon, but not sure when. I'll still keep an eye out for you though, unless you prefer getting the repack one when it hits the shelves later this year?

Other Movies - Music - TV Entertainment / Re: Episode I - 3-D Thoughts?
« on: February 13, 2012, 08:30:59 PM »
If nothing else, go see it so they'll eventually put out ESB in 3-D!! :)`

Yes! Go see the movie so those of us born after '84 can get to see them on the big screen.   :artoo:

Ahem, with that said. I got the impression the 3D was put at the beginning and by the middle of the movie they kind of dropped it. I'm already stuck wearing glasses, so sometimes the 3D effects are lost on me so I might not be the best person to tell you whether there was a lot of 3D or not.  :-\

In the DVD release of Ep I - they added the extra lap to the pod race, as well as the quick clip of them taking the air taxi in Coruscant.

Oh good, thought I had gone crazy and didn't remember the air taxi scene from when I first saw it. Yeah if you hadn't noticed last time I watched TPM was way back in 2000... I think. >.<

Mara as a Jedi...

*looks at her Jaina Solo figure from TLC*

Hum, have they fixed the pink-monstrosity that is supposedly a purple lightsaber?

I don't want to get your hopes up or anything, but I believe I saw one at my Loblaws the other day. If you want, next time I'm in the area, I'll stop to see if they still have him.

Scout Report / Re: New Ewoks and Rebel Pilots Multipacks
« on: February 13, 2012, 09:59:43 AM »
I wonder what the price of these will be?  The Battle packs have shrunk to 3 figures and the last 5-figure packs we saw were the over priced Commandos and TFU II sets at TRU for $50.  I might pay $40 for the pilots, but the Ewoks...not more than $30.
What I'd like to know is if they'll be TRU exclusive. If they are, then I guess looking at a 50$ price range is most likely. The latest battles packs of three ring up at 30$. Do the math, it's 10$ a figure, not far from the current price of the single carded ones... Anyways, I'll most likely pick up both sets.

Non-Star Wars Toys / Re: The Hobbit (and LOTR) toys
« on: February 11, 2012, 11:17:02 AM »
The LOTR Lego looks pretty sweet! I wonder if they will eventually come out with a Lego LOTR video game!
Most likely, every other movie license they've had got a video-game made.

Depending on whether they make a Minas Tirith set and how it looks, I might crack and get that, but otherwise I think I'm going to pass. Not into LOTR as much as I used to be.

Actually the Darth Maul glasses should be available at any movie theater with Real 3D. They are however supposed to be in limited quantities, so only be available the first few days. I managed to get 3 pairs today after a bit of a hassle with the manager. He claimed there wasn't any, only my mother had spotted two pairs at the ticket booth. Funny enough, he dumped a whole box of them in the bin while we were buying our popcorn  ::)

But yeah, if you don't have a Real 3D theater near your place or they've ran out, I'm willing to part with two of the pairs.
