Did business twice with Fraser so far and 1138 feedbacks would'nt be enough to say how satisfied I am as a seller ! Super smooth transaction! Thanks!!

Jim knows exactly where to go to get great figures, and as a great buyer he's quite welcome to buy again when I present more figures.
Thanks for the pleasant trade !

Hello fellow troopers,

I've just received a huge lot of figures.
In that lot, I found a weird Leia Hoth variant with metallic green hair. I am 100% certain its totally legit as its the exact same shade as the bag on the Chewbacca w/metallic green bag + theres paint loss on her hair, meaning it was played with while she wore that hair color (had it been repainted, it would obviously have no paint loss...)
The Coo is Hong Kong, figure most likely comes from a  US Kenner card.

I am puzzled since there is no mention of it either on rebelscum or on toysrgus (the huge variation list they include on their website, which contains each possible variant ever located...)

Any thoughts ?

Vintage Kenner (1978-1985) / Lili Ledy Darth Vader
« on: September 30, 2006, 08:28:58 PM »
I have a Darth Vader here that I think is a Lili Ledy.

I havent seen any real close-up pics (I've searched trg + RS)
In fact the only one I've seen was MOC. So I am still unsure, although a few clues tell me its one

- It has a chubby saber tip
- The torso lite-brite is of a cheaper design.
- No COO

Is there any Lili Ledy expert around ?

whoa ! thats true ! I never found a minty hammerhead ! (not!)
without any paint, hes obviously the easiest guy to find in near mint shape !! :)  I have 56 here that I might send to AFA   :speechless-smiley-004:
Seriously, here are 2 guys I forgot:

Walrusman (the mouth always has a small dot of paint wear)
Han Solo Hoth (with all the paint he has, he is tough to find in nr mint shape)

I agree that when I try to build a complete vintage line in nr mint shape, the Bespin Guards (especially the white one) are always the last ones I need, given their usual ''C7-C8'' shape
I was always lucky with Leia Bespin though (both the crew and Turtle neck variants) Thats about it for the gold trim road... :)

Am I right to say though that the paint job on a lot of white bespin guards was frequently botched, making it hard to find with a super gold vest trim ?

I gotta admit the Imperial Gunner is a toughie, but at that point in time I can't say if theres a lower percentage of them in near mint shape, as I've handled no more than 5-6, whereas I've handled at least 20-30 of each of the other guys.
But you're right, he often comes with lots of paint wear...
As a matter of fact, I received a Gunner yesterday and I was disappointed. The buckle has the usual paint loss, and the imperial signs have faded at 20%.
He's the only one I have right now so I guess that answers your question Sifo, sorry...  :confused0024:

I thought it would be interesting to discuss vintage figures and the shape they usually come in.
I have a question for everyone involved in vintage collecting:

What is, according to each of you out there, the vintage figure(s) that are the hardest to find in nr mint shape ?
I buy lots of figures and here's my top five, according to my experience:

1. Death Star Droid
2. AT AT driver
3. Luke Bespin
4. Luke X wing
5. Bossk

Thats my top 5 !!  Anyone else has other good examples ?

Try the boards. Sometimes sellers will list vintage weapons in the Buy Sell Trade section.
I did that a few months back. :)

Another trade, another happy seller here. :)

Ouch... Thats not good at all. I mean, if repros are to be accepted by all of us hardcore vintage fans, they need at least to be flagged so clearly in the auctions that they can be seen from as far away as the Corporate Sector !
Ah well... Another one for the list!

So we now have:
1. Anubisace
2. Dirk*Diggler
3. baseinvaders
4. Aardvark_man

Who's next ?

Traded twice with Jim and he's just awesome. Nothing to say !  Thanks Jim, hope we can deal together in the future !

You're probably half kidding, but it made me curious; can you even carbon-date plastic? Something tells me that you probably can't :confused0024:

Actually, even though plastic does contain carbon, they do not contain the radioactive carbon isotope (carbon-14) found in bones, fossils, petrified wood, etc. And I dont think that the test is reliable anyways with something thats not at least 20,000 years old ! :)

I just don't see them ever really becoming truly exactly like the original.

Personnally, I dont  either.  Well... we never know, thats why my fingers are crossed anyways. I think I would certainly stop collecting/buying/selling if the weapons were undetectable.  And I'm certainly not the only one ! This is one of the main reason behind me being  reluctant to say I'm ok with repro weapons! And, of course, also because of unscrupuolous sellers on eBay (this accessory ''may or may not be repro...'')  give me a break !
