Wampa Cave / Re: Purchasing figures from online stores
« on: March 04, 2017, 01:14:49 PM »
Thanks for your hard work. I like the idea of posting it in the Ontario locals since that seems to be where the main activity is (yes, I do peruse finds in other Provincials from time to time, you can take the boy out of BC etc etc etc, but Ontario is by far the busiest for this forum).

I think having it run as a thread with ongoing comments from the users - both good & bad - will help people decide if they want to try out one of the named parties. All of the topics you have mentioned would be of interest to anyone considering a first order - feel free to post it in any organized manner you like! Thanks again!  :u:

Goes both ways... I still check out the Ontario forums now that I'm in BC  :)

Appears my gamble to pick up the SS 1/6 R2 and pass on a Hot Toys R2 paid off...

Saw the first Rogue One figure as a Con exclusive

Gentle Giant Giant size figures are still going strong it seems as well

As always though the past years, Hot Toys is stealing the show with cool and amazing products and Hasbro is just putting out the same kind of lack lustre products. Sad really, they for so many years always had new and cool and improved holds and characters.

This is bloody TEMPTING... I wont have much vacation this year in 2016, but this is in 2017!

For those who have gone, is this worth it to go and take it all in as an experience versus say... going to Cuba and chilling on a beach for a week.

Eradicator - Id be going solo as well, if we both end up going we should talk sir.

My thoughts? Has anyone seen or purchased any of the Super7 Funko ReAction figures?

Hasbro should bail out on the 3 3/4 modern style and just go 3 3/4 vintage full out and redo everything.

Vintage style figures, vintage style cards, better ships, more playsets. The vintage market has BLOWN UP with TFA and a new wave of collectors ( who Im not overly thrilled about personally - but thats a diff topic) is throwing tonnes of cash to get a collection in a short period of time.

There is also the aspect of while technology is moving fast still, and ipods and computers are being used by 3 yr olds (:sign0065:) - will this not reach its pinnacle and a movement to go back to simpler methods of parenting become the way of the day? Kids playing with toys instead of video games, and going outside with figures to use their imaginations?

I find it awesome that a thread starts up saying essentially " Where is everyone" and within a couple of days?

We all post and say " Here! "

As for Facebook groups? I agree that my FB page gets FLOODED with posts and for sale posts, Ive actually taken myself off alot of the groups just because I dont want to see for sale ads of huge lots of POTF2 figures for insane prices, all of which are in US dollars too ( Exchange rate still is killing us!)

I know personally I moved out of Star Wars and into Batman Hot Toys for a period of time when the products became lack luster... however Ive seen the Master Replicas site and its saying something is coming in May. If they start doing products again? Ill be back into Star Wars full time again... Pick up a few things here and there, but honestly there have been so many rehashed figures, once you get one that works for your collection as a loose collector - there really isnt any point in spending the cash to get the same figure with a minor change IMO.

This place is still the best place to go for us Canucks that love SW. Rebelscum is honestly too "American" for me however that is where there is a tonne of things up for sale given the # of people collecting in the states vs to us here in the GWN.

The snowtroopers FB page is great too, can check things on the phone at lunch hour etc.

I was actually thinking of setting up an Ontario get together/bbq/day out for this spring/summer seeing as the weather has been absolutely horrible this winter.

Beers / Food / Swap meet etc.

The new Hasbro items have calmed my collecting down a tonne! I really only get excited at the Sideshow / Hot Toys / Higher end items now which I dont purchase all the time for clear monetary purposes  :character0007:

I was also thinking, should get on Facebook? Would that bring more users to the site?

Is there a vendor list up anywhere on the show? I kind of wanted to call a couple places to see if they have and can bring a couple of accessories I need to finish off some figures.

Last show there was alot of " if i had of known i would have brought them" replies when I was asking about some specific things.

Ill be sure to stop by sir... let me know if you want me to bring yea a coffee, ill be coming in for the early admission to get in/out quick. Saw a few pieces go away with other people that I woulda grabbed had I of been in there early.

The only thing I ever bought at Target? CK Boxers... no joke.

Never bought a T Shirt ( though they had some cool ones for sure), a DVD/Blu Ray ( way, way overpriced - but they were in U.S packaging), SW Toy, Home Appliance - nothing. Pricing was always way above and beyond what you could pay for the EXACT same item at a different store. I always thought it would be a "bit" more expensive ( say 10% or so) to shop there as it was branded as a more up-scale store... but for the price increases on so many items? I went there and got my boxers and left over the years...  :character0007:
