Feedback H-N / Jaydogg64
« on: June 07, 2007, 12:20:29 AM »
It's my pleasure to start a feedback thread for this Trooper.
He went to CIV and was thoughtful enough to buy what extra figures he could afford in order to help a couple of us Troopers back here in B.C. get the exclusive figures.
He even threw in a CIV coin for me!

I would definitely deal with this Trooper again anytime. Thanks again, Jaydogg64!  :D

Sports / Official '07 NHL Playoff Thread!
« on: April 12, 2007, 08:46:32 PM »
I thought we should keep the general discussion about Playoff happenings out of Iceman's cup predictions poll so here's a place to talk about whatever series/games, Pens & Sens, plays, goals, hits, etc. (other than the Canucks  since they have their own thread, but either/or/both threads for them I guess)

Looks like there will be some barn burners!  :D

Calgary is getting smoked by the wings so far :s

Everyone in the west seems they will get a boost in their chances by the loss of Cheechoo. Can't really cheer for an injury but the Canucks will take all the help they can get while they advance to the big show  ;)

Pens looked outclassed in game 1 but could come around, lotsa inexperience though and the Sens look to be on a mission. I almost wish I could cheer for them  :tongue0024:

Sid sure proved himself to be the real deal this year though, you were right about him Brian!  :)`  ;)

Scout Report / New WM Planogram
« on: January 16, 2007, 11:38:55 PM »
I was at a WM today that hasn't had any SW figures for at least the last 5-6 weeks. The pegs were taken down at that time too.

Today, they had the action figure aisle cleared out of old stock and new planograms hanging above the shelves and the new pegs installed for all the items on the planograms that are to be arriving soon.

On the planograms/pegs it said:
- SW Basic - $8.43 (4 pegs)
- SW single vehicle- $7.92 (titaniums)
- SW Force Action
- SW Ep.3 basic Saber- $7.92

This leads me to believe that the Canadian WMs will be getting the Saga WM exclusive wave at the very least, if not the other remaining wave on U.S. cards (although this is less likely) Steve @ Legends reported today that WM Canada denied their request to bring in the WM exclusive wave which makes him also believe that we'll see this wave in our local WMs.

I doubt that these pegs are for the 30th Anniv. figs because this is too soon to be putting the pegs up for those.
Usually, the stock for new planograms arrives within 1-2 weeks of seeing the planograms, so keep a lookout if you're interested in this wave.

Just a heads up for you guys.

I'll report back here when the stock comes, whether it's the WM wave or (crosses fingers) the Appo/Holo Obi-wan etc. wave...

Announcements / Toy Shows / Contests / Good Job Koda, Kevobi & Staff !
« on: December 31, 2006, 08:00:00 PM »
Maybe not the most appropriate board for this  :confused0024:

Sitting here surfing some other sites as well as Snowtroopers and it occurred to me how great of a job Koda, Kevobi (and Mods if applicable) are doing at keeping the spam out of here lately. I've noticed all those "new members" at the bottom of the screen with stupid spammer names don't last very long and I haven't seen one of them actually have a chance to post for ages now (or at least they're gone before I see them, either way). Compared to some other sites that I frequent, the anti-spam campaign here at Snowtroopers is totally top notch!

I have no doubt that it is a constantly annoying and challenging struggle and
I just wanted to let you guys know that your efforts are very much appreciated by this member and I'm sure every other member here as well.

Fahget about it, spammers. These guys are all over you like stank on a monkey  :D

Computer Talk / Random PC Shutdowns
« on: October 18, 2006, 12:08:26 AM »
Hi Troopers,

Anyone ever have problems with your PC randomly shutting off?

If so, what did you do about it? I'm not talking about reboots here, just seemingly random shutdowns, where your PC will just shut off even when not busy doing anything or running any apps..

I've been told that faulty RAM is the most likely culprit, followed by bad power supply. I've changed the RAM and the problem still exists.  Sometimes it will go for weeks with no problem and then other times it will happen many times a day :mad0137: I'm hesitant to buy a new power supply without more evidence that is the cause. My power supply is a pretty pro one but even high-end stuff has defects and component failures.

Any shared experiences appreciated.

Wampa Cave / George Lucas on The Colbert report!
« on: October 12, 2006, 03:51:04 AM »
The "green screen challenge" came to a close today and who shows up as a fake contestant but G.L. himself!
He did some acting AND had a big FX SABER fight with Steven!  :fight:  It was great.
There is a great montage of all the green screen entries.
Here's a link to the montage, the winning entry CGI movie, as well as Episode3 of "the Tek Jansen adventure"  ;) Keep in mind that George Lucas is sitting right there in the room with Colbert  :tongue0024:

Also, there was an entry by "George L." that he said he got help with "from his friends" , assumably ILM. No link for that or the whole show yet though. If someone finds the whole show online, please post a link.
A rare public "performance" and tv appearance by the man. He even dissed ep.1 a little bit!

Here is a link where you can see some of the entries in their entirety, and view the original footage and find out what the green screen challenge is:

Good stuff for SW and Colbert fans. GOTTA get a link to the FXSaber fight  :rollfloorlaffsmiley:

Steven got in some funny Lucas jokes too, told him to keep his receipts for coming to the show  :tongue0024:

Looks great, anyone ordered this yet?

Customs / Delta Squad & Shadow Commando (Scorch repaints)
« on: August 27, 2006, 12:04:25 AM »
The announcement of the Delta squad pack coming out next year kinda took the wind out of my sails for a bit on this project but I finally finished my Delta Squad customs:

The orange "Boss" looks alot more orange and less "salmon" in real life. Some of the pics don't capture the colour very well on that one.

I thought I'd throw my black and silver Scorch repaint in there for a pic or 2..

In the army now:

Wampa Cave / Evolution of SW figs mentioned in Bodybuilding Doc.
« on: August 17, 2006, 07:46:22 PM »
I was flipping around the channels and came across a documentary on bodybuilding and male body image last night and they showed the vintage version of Luke Skywalker and then showed how it compared to the POTF2 Luke from the 90's. They told an anecdotal story about how when Mark Hamill first saw the POTF2 version of his character, he said "Oh my god. They've put me on steroids!". lol

They also compared different versions of 12" G.I. Joe figures from different decades.

Anyway, there is just a short segment on the toys but if anyone wants to see this i'm sure it will be repeated; it was on "TLC- The Learning Channel" and was called " The Man Whose Arms Exploded" - PG rated. Some graphic scenes and disturbing facts about modern Bodybuilding.

Anyone else catch this?

The Toys - Snowtrooper Reviews! / Shadow Stormtrooper
« on: August 01, 2006, 01:53:39 PM »
This figure is awesome, as you would expect. Being based on the VOTC Stormie mold, the articulation is great. Comes with UGH style "chrome-like" stand and a blaster.

There is blue detailing on the helmet and the silver "bolts" at the mouth, otherwise the figure is all black. The holster will hold the blaster but the holster isn't the pocket type, rather, it just has a slit that the blaster fits in to. I find this a bit cheap.

But hey, it's a black SA Stormtrooper; works for me!

Great comic book style card back. The background on the front of the card is also comic style animation.

The back of the Starcase has Kenner embossed on it, as well as the Hasbro and Lucasfilm logos. Anyone have info on why the Kenner logo is on there?

Anyone who has better pics, feel free to drop them into this thread.
