Wampa Cave / "You Rebelscum" - My Interview With Barrie Holland
« on: August 10, 2006, 02:07:28 AM »
Some of you may remember that back in June, I posted an interview with OT stuntman Lightning Bear.

Through him, I was able to contact and interview the man who portrayed Lt. Renz in ROTJ, Barrie Holland.  His signature line "You Rebelscum" is known by virtually all SW fans (and even was the source of inspiration for the name of the biggest SW fan forum on the internet).

He also appeared in over 200 films, among them the entire Indiana Jones trilogy, 1989's Batman, and several of the Christopher Reeve Superman movies.

If you'd like to read more about the man, then please check it out here.

Snowtrooper Collections / The Star Wars Museum
« on: July 23, 2006, 03:35:37 PM »
Hi everyone.  At last, here are pics of my collection.

I'm not happy with many of these shots.  They are too small to see everything, but if I took closeups, there would be over 200 pics as opposed to the 50 here now!

I also had some trouble with lighting, which takes away from many of them.

Oh well, here it is.  You can't even see 99.9% of the carded modern, as they are filling the closet and are in boxes buried under other stuff.

The life of a completist....  :winking0071:

Right from

Neil Smith, after only a month or so as GM, has been fired.  His replacement?  Their backup goalie Garth Snow.  He actually retired just to take the GM position.

Wow, I'm no fan of the Islanders, but you've gotta admit - they make some of the best off-ice hockey stories. ;)

Wampa Cave / My Interview with OT Stuntman Lightning Bear

I have recently had the opportunity to have a one on one interview with Lightning Bear, a stuntman who has done work on all kinds of films, besides portraying a Stormtrooper in ANH and a Biker Scout in ROTJ.

For anyone that would like to read it, you can find it here.

Sports / NHL Playoff Discussion (Merged)
« on: April 05, 2006, 12:49:20 PM »
Who do you think is taking it this year?

If it was held today, you'd have the following teams in it.

NY Rangers
New Jersey
Tampa Bay

Screw the East.  The only three I wouldn't be crushed to see in the final would be Carolina, Jersey, and Tampa.

In the West, the only three I would be crushed to see in the final are Nashville, Dallas, and Colorado.

I honestly hope Calgary or Edmonton wins it out of those making the playoffs.  Any one of those I mentioned that would be just okay for me, and I simply won't care.  If it is one of those I didn't name, then I'll have wished the lockout lasted this year too.  :tongue0024:

Wampa Cave / Fan Club Presidency Campaigns
« on: March 20, 2006, 11:14:47 AM »
Well, seems like RS is trying to get Dustin to be the next Fan Club President.

I'm cool with that, BUT not cool with the way it's being promoted.

Dustin For President link

The post will make more sense if you click on the 'learn how to help' link in the first post.

Now, here's a copy of my post there, which I expect will be removed from RS.

Sorry to derail the thread Dustin, and if you delete this, I will fully understand.

Nothing against you - you have my support in every way except the $50 it costs us in Canada to subscribe.

However, Philip's post today has pissed me off.

On the main page:

I gotta say, I'm underwhelmed by the subscriptions...

In the report:

It's time to get out the support.

Those with current subscriptions, you can renew now and it will tack on your subscription to the end of your current term.

Can't afford it? That's not so unusual with all the stuff we have to buy for our collections; give one away as a gift to a friend, or ask for one for your birthday. Get it early even.

Or, go wear out your friends and have them sign up.

We need to get this thing moving!

And, finally, from the Campaign page.

How can I help?
You can help spread the word by grabbing a campaign banner and throwing it up on your website. Simply right-click and choose "save as" to download them to your desktop. Then link the banner back up to the official DLR campaign headquarters (this page). No website? Use this limited-edition campaign avatar in the forum!

I am NOT begging for a subscription to an expensive website fanclub for my birthday.  Asking a friend to give me a $50 US gift out of the blue is ridiculous.  If I or my friends were that rich to just throw away $50 ata  time, I'd be joining up for the hell of it.

Finally, and my biggest complaint here, is that the request is to advertise this campaign on other websites, but Philip's own rules will ban you if you advertise another website here.  Is that hypocritical or what?

Sorry, Philip, I normally do not like to say negaitive things about RS or you publically, but these comments are a pure joke.

Again, I want to make it 100% clear that I am in full support of Dustin's bid for Fan Club President.  I just hate the method of getting him there, and the pure hypocrisy in Philip's statements about advertising sites.

What does everyone else think of this BS?

Wampa Cave / Carrie Fisher Duets with...Ringo Starr?
« on: March 13, 2006, 01:39:56 AM »
This is awesome.

An old 70's music video for Ringo Starr's "You're Sixteen", starring our very own Princess Leia!  She even sings (much better than she does in the Holiday Special I may add ;) )
