The High End: Replicas & Statues / Anyone still into GG stuff?
« on: April 26, 2012, 03:07:05 AM »
Hey boys and girls, it's been a while since I have posted here but just got a great deal on 2 of my all time favorite GG busts.  Boba Fett and the Ep II Blue Clone.  The best part of the deal is there both came from a Canadian seller (anyone here?) so no duty to pay.  I know the GG product in on a major down right now but I will take these as I can get them.  Now just an Ep II Yoda and my personal top 5 will be complete.

Wampa Cave / Disney Vinylmation Star Wars is coming
« on: January 20, 2010, 03:04:04 PM »
Hey guys and gals, long time no post.  I have become a huge fan of the Disney Vinylmation line and the word on the streets is there is a full Star Wars line coming out in May.

I was wondering if anyone else was interested in this line, or had even heard of it?  I was also thinking of ordering a full case (24 figures) and hopefully splitting it with someone here. What do you guys think?

The High End: Replicas & Statues / Merry Christmas GG'ers!
« on: December 19, 2008, 01:05:40 PM »
Hey guys, whats going on?

It's looking like a very good time to be a buyer if you can be, deals to be had on the Bay as well as other places.  I myself need a new shelf just for this week alone.  Picked up a Chrome C-3PO from the bay for a decent deal, then a Dooku and a Crumb from one seller, considering an armless Jango from rebelscum, Lego Luke from TRU, and straight from GG got my Christmas Cody today with the airborne trooper, galactic marine and the free gift Blue Classic Clone to come very shortly.  Who says there is a recession going on??  :speechless-smiley-004:

So what are all you guys up to?  Finding any deals?  Getting any GG for christmas?

Off Topic / My new Toy grabber!
« on: September 26, 2008, 02:42:23 AM »

So this has been a year for me.  Convocated with my BSc in Geoligy in April, hitched in late August, and now today, finally got rid of the old '88 Dodge Dakota and picked up this '08 Toyota FJ cruiser.  Needed a good 4x4 to get to and from work, plus I have always loved the retro-styling of the FJ.  Totally stock, of course, but I am looking to maybe put in a touch screen nav system (also for work) and a more aggressive mud tire (not any bigger, just don't want to get stuck again)

It's so clean right now, but I can't wait to get it nice and dirty!

Found this from another site, and I must say, it is pretty good.  Camera seems to follow the action and the end is good too.  Enjoy!

The High End: Replicas & Statues / NEW Clone Wars Obi-wan Mini-bust
« on: February 08, 2008, 02:06:58 PM »
For many months rumors have been flying around with nothing able to be confirmed or denied about this mysterious piece….until now!

Gentle Giant is excited to announce the Obi-Wan Kenobi in Clone Trooper Armor Mini Bust, a companion piece to the similarly named statue released in January 2007.

We’ve taken one of the greatest Jedi Master’s out of the movies and transplanted him into an outfit he was only seen in, in the world of the animated Clone Wars series. Obi-Wan Kenobi in Clone Trooper Armor Mini Bust has a total edition size of 5000 pieces and stands 6.5 inches tall and 7.5inches tall with lightsaber.

There will be multiple options collectors will be able to acquire Obi-Wan for their collections.

The first option is through Gentle Giant Ltd. directly.  Since this piece is a companion piece to the statue, 2500 pieces will be allocated for this purpose.  Anyone who has purchased the Obi-Wan in Clone Trooper Armor Statue can redeem through this method for purchase at $25, plus shipping/handling.  After the NY Toy Fair, we will be sending out en email and posting on our website with specific instruction and guidelines for redeeming through

The other 2500 pieces will be split between our domestic and international retailers and be sold at full retail price of $55. will also have a small quantity of the Obi-Wan mini bust available (of the additional 2500 pieces) to purchase for those who do not own the statue but would like to add it to their collection.  Retail price will apply to these purchases.   Obi-Wan in Clone Trooper Armor mini bust will be ready to start shipping the first week of March.

I think this guy looks really good.  Hopefully the actual version looks just like that, not the statue.   Who is going to get this guys?

Also, if there is anyone out there who owns the statue and DOES NOT want the bust to go with it, let me know and maybe we can work something out for the redemption.  Long shot, I know, but hey, why not?  :P

« on: November 30, 2007, 03:44:31 PM »
Hello Premier Guild Members,

We have started shipping out the first wave shipments of PGM gifts and will continue shipping out waves through the next couple of weeks.

For our inaugural gift, as a Thank You for being part of our first year, we have included the following items:

Become a member of the Gentle Giant Bust-Ups collector army with this Star Wars: Attack of the Clones Clone Trooper Sergeant Bust-Up. The Premier Guild Membership gift is the only place these will be deployed.

Join the Gentle Giant Band with the Simpsons Rock 'n Roll Fantasy Camp Bust-Ups Assortment. Never before sold to the public, this set not only includes the 3 original members, Homer, Barney and Otto, but introduces Apu and Wiggum to the jam session.

While we here at Gentle Giant know things with our new site and our Premier Guild have gone through some growing pains, we're sure you've had your "kill" switch turned on at some point. Now with this Simpsons Killer Krusty Bust-Up, he can do the dirty work so you won't have to.

For all those long hours you sit in front of your computer refreshing your screen, do it next time with your mouse resting on its official Gentle Giant Premier Guild Mouse Pad.

When you're out at the next convention, take pride in showing you're a Gentle Giant Premier Guild member with the Gentle Giant Messenger Bag and Gentle Giant Premier Guild Dog Tag.

We hope you enjoy all these items that are part of the inaugural Gentle Giant Premier Guild Membership gift. We are already planning some great products for our continuing members of the Premier Guild.

The Gentle Giant Ltd. Team

P.S. - For inquiring minds, the 2008 Premier Guild Membership Gift will be a Star Wars Clone Trooper Lieutenant Classics Bust. Stay tuned for more details.

So there we have it, finally.  Not a heck of alot in there I am taken by, but free stuff is free stuff.  I can't complain as I did get lucky enough to win the commanders raffle, and with the free classic next year, I may just sign up again.  What do you other PG members think, and will you keep your membership?

Non-Star Wars Toys / Neca Music figures
« on: July 17, 2007, 11:42:10 PM »
Hey guys and gals.  I was strolling through the neighbourhood Zellars this morning in Regina and was struck by something I have never seen at mass retail, Neca toys.  There was 1 single peg of the John Lennon figure with his arm crossed and jean jacket on.  6 or 7 of them there.  Price was $15.  And that was it.  Maybe it is a sign of things to come, as Neca toys have never really had a retail market here in Canada, at least to my knowledge.  Has anyone else found them?  And if so, anything besides the Lennon figure?

Wampa Cave / C4 Badges
« on: April 30, 2007, 10:51:56 PM »
Hey guys and gals, just pissin' away some time here and figured I would throw together a simple badge for Snowtroopers to wear and show off their colours while down in LA.  I used the header from the front page, hope thats OK guys, to borrow from your hard work.  I have two slightly different badges I cooked up.

Here they are:

What do you guys think?  I could probably send others the link to the badge, or just add their name myself and email the finished picture to you and you can print/laminate them to your needs.   I'm not sure why the first is showing pu so big, but they should be 3x4,1 or so.
