Feedback A-G / Crash22
« on: December 12, 2012, 12:24:10 AM »
Just finished my end of the deal with Crash22. Great communication and speedy payment so a seller couldn't ask for anything more.  Hope my end of the bargain meets his expectations too.

Just completed our first deal and it went as well as these things go - flawless.  No worries here.

Scout Report / Will we see the last waves of TAC (30AC)?
« on: November 25, 2007, 01:36:28 AM »
So, whaddya think?  Optimist or cynic?

As a Canadian collector, about now is the time to start getting nervous.  We're up to wave five, there are 7-ish (repaints) waves in total.  Historically we've missed the last couple of waves in just about every incarnation of modern SW figures (payback for Yakface?):

POTF2 freeze frames (last two waves)
POTJ last two waves missed
Episode I - last two waves
Saga/AOTC - jeez, didn't we miss a pile?
OTC - last wave missed
ROTS - last two waves not on Canadian cardbacks (I know, not a bad thing for all)

Haven't seen wave 3 of Legends figures on Canadian cardbacks either and now a glut of wave 3 at Walmart; 4/5 at TRU and Superstore.  Thankfully Christmas is coming and might clear some of that out of those stores, but will it help or will it even matter?

Will history repeat?  Can anyone confirm the existence of wave 6 or 7 on Canadian cards?

Wampa Cave / Celebration IV news

Just an absolute boatload of Hasbro information over on JD this morning click for details.  They have some pretty crappy (stealthy?) pictures up already that show some neat stuff.  I'm pretty sure they're not supposed to have those yet.  Good pictures will obviously be abundant later today.  Han Solo with torture rack!

The wallet is going to be hurting over the coming year :cool0037:

Yup, you'll hear about it shortly (if you haven't already).  Jedidefender is already talking about it as a two pack with coin.  (not sure if it's on the front page yet, but it's been confirmed in the forums).

Also a R2 unit, R2-KT is how it's listed on the SDCC guide book.  Supposedly it has pink coloration? ???  Not a McQuarrie figure, just other SDCC news.

Anyway, have fun filling out that McQuarrie family with not one, not two, but three (so far) McQuarrie convention exclusives.

No, no pictures have surfaced yet.

edit: nope, not on the front page yet, it'll be there in the morning though I expect.

More news here

McQ Han, Hoth Rebel Officer, concept art Han and Snowtrooper! :party0053:

EDITED: just the title, so we can have one thread for the pending exclusive stuff. - jj

Just sold a pile of stuff to this dude and everything was fantastic the whole way through.  As easy to deal with as they come.  Thanks too to Warren for picking the stuff up.

Another fine deal with Stan.  I know he exists (kind like his feedback thread ???) but I've never seen him.  Either way, two easy deals with him and no hassles ever.

I'm not sure how come there's not already feedback for you Rick, I'd swear I left some before.

Either way, another fine deal with Rick, always a pleasure.  Now buy more of my stuff.

Wampa Cave / Think figures are expensive?
« on: August 05, 2005, 11:23:38 PM »
I've noticed that a lot of guys here are fairly young.  That's cool, I wish I was too ;) but unfortunately it's just not so.

I don't have anything from the vintage era to show you prices of, but I do remember the pricing schemes from POTF2 upwards to ROTS.  POTJ was clearly the worst of the times - Walmart was $8.97 and TRU was $11.97.  So prices of late are pretty darn nice with $7.44 being the Walmart line at the moment.

But I just don't see it as realistic and companies can't compete with that.  Especially the smaller, collector style shops.  When you think $9.99 is expensive, take a look at the pics below.  They are three POTF2 figures purchased in 1995 or 1996.

Scout Report / Frito Lay/Dorito contest in Canada
« on: April 16, 2005, 01:18:26 AM »
Hey guys, this is going to sound a little lame, because I already forgot the detials/website for the contest.  But in one (and only one Walmart) there was a huge display for Lays chips and Doritos, clogging up the center aisle.

It was as big a display as their football or Juno display, plus they had about a six foot tall standee suspended from the ceiling.  It looked pretty cool.

A website was listed for a trivia contest (sorry, forgot the url from then until now :-[) but it looked as though it might already be running.  I didn't find a link on the Frito Lay Canada website either.

No promotional bags of chips either, all basic product, but I guess that's coming soon.  Also no indication of anything in the bags, though maybe there will be in the 60 g bags.  Time will tell.

So at least we'll see something from then again.  Still hoping Burger King gets in the game up here too.

Sports / NBA Legends 1
« on: February 19, 2005, 01:43:14 AM »
No, nothing new to post, though we may have pics in a week.  I'm just putting out an early call for help.  I really, really need Bird and Erving chase pieces.  I'm direly hoping for an ABA Erving with a huge-a$$ afro, but we'll see what we get.  Bird is Bird, slow, can't jump white guy - gotta love it.  Would also be please with Maravich and Chamberlain chase figs.

Very tempted to order a case of these.  The first line up is absolutely amazing and proof of what can be done when the company owner doesn't have a vested interest in a player :P  Bird-Erving-Chamberlain???  Those are three of the biggest NBA players of all time.  Jabbar, Magic, Russell, Cousy and of course Jordan, but geez, what a lineup compared to what has been done in the NHL Legends line up.   :(
