Did anyone pick this up when it was available? Is it a decent set? Anything new about it? I can't remember reading much about it when it was in the stores. Mostly I'm just curious I guess.

Scout Report / TRU.ca raising figure prices
« on: January 01, 2012, 11:19:44 AM »
They have preorders for the Movie Heros figures and the TPM Vintage figures with regular price is listed as $10.99! I guess that happend last year at TRU in the US, it was bound to happen here as well. Hopefully Walmart and Zellers(Target) doesn't follow along.

Hmm, I wonder if one could preorder them for that sale price?

The High End: Replicas & Statues / Force FX Lightsaber blades
« on: November 29, 2011, 03:30:33 PM »
I got my first FX Lightsaber for my birthday a few weeks back, and it is awesome! I haven't put it on display yet, because I am still trying to find a good spot for it. I really want to display it horizontally. But after a bit of poking around on the internet, I found that a bunch of people are saying to only display them vertically, because over time the blade will warp due to gravity. Has anyone encountered this? Thanks.

Does anyone have this? Is it any good in Canada? What kind of movies/tv show do they have? For awhile now I have thought about getting it. But I keep flip flopping back and forth whether or not it would be a good idea. I do have Xbox Live, so I would probably get it that way. Any advice or opinion would be great, thanks.

Wampa Cave / The End of Saga Legends?
« on: September 15, 2011, 11:40:06 AM »
Apparently so. I didn't catch this the first time around when the Q&A's were released. But one of SWactionnews.com answers says that Saga Legends will be ending in 2011. And a new line will be starting in 2012, called Movie Heroes. Not sure if it is just a name change, or if it will actually be a better managed line altogether?

Not sure if this is a rumour or the truth. But I would welcome this! Anybody know more about this happening anytime soon?

So with the release of Star Wars onto Blue-Ray coming up, I was wondering how many troopers were planning on picking up a copy for themselves? (or not picking up)

Wampa Cave / Cleaning your collection
« on: August 11, 2011, 10:55:35 AM »
I noticed last night that a lot of my shelves are getting rather dusty. I usually clean my shelves every month or so. But I guess lately I have been slacking off a bit. This time though, they are in need of a good clean. It is usually takes me a good evening to do. I put in a good movie, and do each shelf at a time. Put everything in a small tote and dust away. It does take quite a bit of time standing everything back up with their accessories in place. But in the end, I can sit on my couch and admire a nice shiney collection. lol. So how often (or not often) do you guys clean your collection? I have seen some pretty dusty figure collections on the internet(not at Snowtroopers, lol) But that would drive me crazy.

Other Movies - Music - TV Entertainment / The Hobbit: Part 1 and 2
« on: July 21, 2011, 10:54:09 PM »
I am really looking forward to these movies. I loved the LOTR trilogy, and am very happy that Peter Jackson has returned. I am also a huge fan of behind the scenes stuff. I think they add to the whole movie experience. Here are a few production videos from the set. The last one has some pretty good shots of all the dwarves.

Scout Report / Chapters/Indigo Stores
« on: July 15, 2011, 11:05:36 AM »
For the past few months or so, my wife has been telling me that Indigo and Chapters had Star Wars figures. And for whatever reason, I just kept thinking that they were just those keychains or someother sort of toy. But a few days ago we were in a Chapters store and my two little boys and I made out way over to their toy section. And low and behold, they had a fair sized Star Wars section. Quite a few Vintage wave 3 figures (no Gam Guards) and quite a few Legacy ESB AT-AT drivers, Concept Snowtroopers, Wing Guards, and Willrow Hoods. Lots of them.

They also had some old and newer Lego Star Wars sets. (they seemed cheaper than other places in the Lego department, but I am not sure) Their figure prices were comparable to Walmart and TRU. I picked up an AT-AT driver and Wing Guard and went immediately went to appoligize to my wife for not believing her. She gave me one of those, "You should have trusted me in the first place" looks.

Anyone else come across this at their local Chapters? Pretty surprised, thats for sure.

Off Topic / Marvel's Civil War
« on: July 14, 2011, 04:17:35 PM »
So I thought I would ask this here, since I think there are quite a few on this board who follow comics fairly closely.

A friend of mine recomended the Civil War series to me. He said it was one of the best story arcs he has read in a long time. I know some of the storyline, but not a whole bunch. Anyways, I went online to see if I could order a few of the collected editions, (I live in a small town with no comic shop nearby) :( and I realized there are a bunch of them. Captain America, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Frontline and so on. More than I had expected. Now my question is, in what order should I read them in? Do they all kinda intertwine together? Or does the order really matter? Any thoughts or advice would be great. Thanks alot.

Wampa Cave / Star Wars Screencaps
« on: July 05, 2011, 05:32:34 PM »
I am trying to find some good shots of certain scenes. Not the usual Google image search stuff. Does anyone know any good websites that have good screencaps of all six movies? Thanks in advance.
