Hey Troops! I am looking to trade up a Hot Toys Man of Steel (MMS 200) figure for Hot Toys Star Wars figure. Figure is in perfect condition, complete including all accessories. Has been displayed in glass case in smoke free house. Am willing to add some cash in trade as long as it makes sense. Thanks for checking!

Wampa Cave / Black Series FX sabers

Anyone know if there will be more than what was in that pitiful catalog that leaked? I would be shocked if they pass on making a Kylo Ren version!??

Wampa Cave / New youtube show!
« on: August 17, 2015, 01:26:17 PM »

Fellow Troopers!

Following the sage advice of Kevin Smith, I have started a podcast show on youtube! The name of the show is in flux, but the basic outline is in place. I have linked the video above. Basically I am discussing movies, collectibles, video games and pop culture. Would appreciate any and all constructive feedback. It is very raw at the moment. Peconi has promised to help out along the way, and I am hoping for fun times out of this endeavour!

Wampa Cave / The elephant in the room...
« on: July 26, 2015, 11:20:49 AM »
So I am guessing everyone has seen that 18 foot Falcon that Hot Toys released. Who thinks this will even go into production? What do you guess as a price point? And would anyone seriously have the space for it, when it clocks in around the size of a two car garage?

Other Movies - Music - TV Entertainment / Spider-Man Review
« on: July 01, 2012, 08:11:45 AM »
So, having seen the film, I can say I am pleased with the outcome overall. Point form breakdown:
- Tobey who? Garfield is really good as PP/Spidey
- Emma Stone is great as Gwen
- Supporting cast is solid across the board
- Stan Lee cameo is hilarious
- Action scenes will give any Spidey fan a chill

- Origin story while different feels like déjà vu
- Spidey suit doesn't appear until over an hour into the film
- CGI for Lizard is questionable in my opinion
- There were a couple plot points that didn't gel

I won't go into details or give away spoilers, but I think Marc Webb did a good job overall. Not as much cheese as the Raimi films had, and some of the stuff Spidey does is right out of the comics. Some nice touches to add humor, but as other reviews have mentioned, a reboot this soon feels rushed. Also, there are some scenes from trailers that never appear in the final cut. I didn't see it in 3-D but plan to when it comes out.

Overall score: 78%

That's about all that can be said. Sure the prices are steep, but the quality and workmanship that go into these pieces is incredible!! For the record - I scored Indiana Jones. $260 taxes included, which IMO is not too bad considering. Now unfortunately, I am hooked!! Bring on Joker 2.0!!

Off Topic / Peanut Butter for $5.50 a jar??
« on: April 09, 2012, 06:11:21 PM »
Have the price of peanuts gone up? The average price of a jar of PB is now over $5....Even WM was selling it for 6.77 a jar??!  ???

Other Movies - Music - TV Entertainment / Episode I - 3-D Thoughts?
« on: February 12, 2012, 02:11:53 PM »
I admit. I went and saw it.

That being said - No, the 3-D did not make it any more enjoyable. The film is what it is. I'm not going to debate the pros and cons of the story here. Visually, it was good, but not "Oh, Wow..." good. A more "in your face" 3-D would have worked better for this, and some scenes did not even seem to be converted. The end scene of Qui-Gon's funeral, I noticed no effect at all in some shots. I did find myself wondering where the chapter skip function was sometimes too.

The bottom line. Is it worth the coin to see? For nostalgic purpose alone, I would say yes. I went with the wife, only to just now discover she has never seen ANY of the Saga in theatres!

If nothing else, go see it so they'll eventually put out ESB in 3-D!! :)`

Wampa Cave / TO SCALE Millennium Falcon!!

Dunno if y'all have seen it yet - but some guy on Sandtroopers is building a 6x4 foot Falcon.... :scared0008:

Wampa Cave / Lucas on OWN
« on: January 23, 2012, 08:00:17 AM »
Did anyone else manage to catch the Lucas interview on the Oprah Network on Sunday night? Some interesting insights for sure. The only downside was Terence Howard going on about how if "Red Tails" doesn't make like a zillion dollars it'll wind up being a racial thing!?  :mad0218:

The Toys - Snowtrooper Reviews! / TPM Vintage Darth Maul
« on: January 22, 2012, 01:17:54 PM »
I was on the fence about getting the Vintage Maul, thinking it would be a straight repack of the Sith Evo set figure. I was pleased to see upon opening him that they have added new articulation to the hips and included ball jointed elbows now. He includes all the accessories required, with Big H even adding his silver wrist device. The only minor complaint is that the soft goods skirt IMO is a tad too long. Otherwise, a great figure all-around. Anyone who's on the fence about getting "Yet another Darth Maul" should snap him up when/if you see him.  :)`

Off Topic / Have you or would you buy a 3D-TV?
« on: November 15, 2011, 08:50:38 PM »
Personally, I wouldn't get one. I've seen a few films in 3-D in the theatre, but have no desire to repeat the experience at home. 3-D films will continue their dominance so long as said films are making over 900,000 box office....Just look at how many films just so recently capped a billion....The $15 3-D ticket is helping that.....Sets where you don't need glasses? The last I saw - a 20" cost upwards of 5K!
