Wampa Cave / TOPPS Star Wars Card Trader App
« on: September 10, 2015, 03:09:49 AM »
i couldn't see a previous thread about this, but if one has already been started, then please let me know.

I finally got around to downloading this app a couple of weeks ago and I am seriously addicted! I know Darth Chadus has been using it for a while, but if anyone else wants to trade, my username is ADAMIRALACKBAR.

Off Topic / Rebelscum

To a certain extent, it doesn't come as much of a surprise to read the negative comments and bad feelings that some/many of you have towards Rebelscum and while I don't have a problem with it or you (and certainly have no intention of starting a slanging match), I am curious to know why there seems to be so much animosity.

Obviously, Thirdfloor commented on the forum's TOS and while it might seem unreasonable to claim ownership of content posted on the forums, I'm pretty sure the same is true for Facebook.

One thing I will say is that everyone on the team at RS is a collector like all of you, and we're committed to doing the best job we can in delivering the latest and greatest Star Wars collecting news, but also like all of you, we're only human and we don't always get things right.

At the end of the day, there's no getting away from the fact that Rebelscum and Snowtroopers are competing sites, and while I may be contributor for one, I am still keen to be a part of the collecting community in Canada, and always interested to know what's going on here, as opposed to the States.

Feel free to tell me where to go...

The Vintage Collection (TVC) / US vs. Canadian Cards
« on: December 04, 2012, 12:53:50 AM »
I was just wondering what preference Canadian collectors have when it comes to getting Canadian or US cardbacks?  I guess TVC is different to previous lines where the card has been quite different (TSC and TAC spring to mind), but has anyone favoured US over Canadian for TVC, especially since not all of the figures have been released on Canadian cards?

Personally, I've tended to lean towards US cards, but that's primarily because I get most of them from a LCS who deals with Hasbro US.

Just posted the press release for three special screenings taking place in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver on Saturday, February 11

Really excited to hear that there will be Fan Expo in Vancouver in a couple of months.  Been saying for a while that we needed a big convention here.

The latest contest is up at, with the chance to win 1 of 5 copies of The Clone Wars Season 3 on Blu-ray

I don't think you'll have any problems with the question...

Feedback A-G / Darth Chadus
« on: February 28, 2011, 02:35:40 AM »
I think I might be the first one to post feedback for Darth Chadus.

It's a bit belated, but a couple of weeks ago, Chad kindly picked up a Sarlacc Pit Ultimate Battle Pack for me from Winners.  Met him and his family and got to check out his collection and had a great time talking Star Wars.

Would be happy to trade again and I recommend Chad as a fine trooper to deal with.  Thanks again Chad!

Scout Report / Wanted: Your feedback on the big 3
« on: July 18, 2010, 10:03:07 PM »
Reading the comments about Zellers' toy aisles makes it apparent that they leave a lot to be desired, but does anyone have anything good to say about them?  It would also seem as though any comments made known to staff, and even head-office, typically fall on deaf ears.  This is not necessarily isolated to Zellers and could also apply to both TRU and Wal-Mart.

I've been talking to Hasbro Canada and they have asked for feedback on the 'big 3' and in particular, the issues that collectors have with their pricing, stock levels and the like.  Hasbro are clearly better placed to have any such feedback taken seriously and whilst the vast majority is likely to be negative, they want to temper it with some positives to avoid antagonising the retailers.

So, what are your complaints, and what, if anything, do you like?  What suggestions do you have for improving those areas where the retailers are falling down?

If we as a collecting community can get our voices heard by the retailers, we may stand a better chance of seeing improvements in what exclusives come to Canada and who knows, Zellers may even start pricing the exclusives they do bring in more reasonably.  That is something that Hasbro have already made them aware of....

So, vent your spleens, and I know it will be difficult, but see if you can't find something positive to feedback, though I've yet to come up with something....

Wampa Cave / & Hasbro Canada - Star Wars Survey
« on: March 05, 2010, 02:25:08 AM » and Hasbro Canada want you, the Canadian collectors, to participate in our Star Wars Online Survey and share your feedback on the Star Wars brand in Canada!

To thank you for your time, Hasbro Canada and will donate 1 Star Wars toy to the Starlight Foundation of Canada for every survey completed.

Only one survey per email address may be submitted.

I would really encourage you all to participate in the survey, as Hasbro Canada are keen to know what fans think about the current state of collecting in Canada.  This is only open to fans in Canada, so it's a perfect opportunity to have your voice heard.  Not only that, but for every survey completed, a Star Wars toy gets donated to the Starlight Foundation of Canada, so spread the word for a good cause.

If anyone has any questions, or encounters any problems whilst completing the survey, please let me know.
