Customs / Jedi Training Rey with added articulation
« on: January 15, 2018, 05:09:48 PM »
So, I finally decided to make her super articulated.  Still not 100% sold on her arms and still looking for ideas, but this is how it is for now.  If I can't find any other better arms, then I'll paint her shoulder part later.

Together with my other TLJ SA figures.

For those wondering, the chip for the sound is in the torso.  This is how it looks like.

Customs / 3.75" Praetorian Guards
« on: January 03, 2018, 05:03:43 PM »
So, I have the four Walmart 3.75" Praetorians that I wanted.  Since they don't have the heavy blade weapon, I'm just sticking with this so they are using all 4 different variants of the weapons currently available.

However, the hands on these guys are so small.  I'm scared the one with the straight sword's thumb is going to break cause I slipped and bent his thumb almost 90 degrees back when I was putting the sword in his hand.  Wish they made the hands slightly bigger or the other weapons' handles a little smaller.

Here they are.  The heads on the 5 POA ones have slightly larger sockets so I had to modify them a little to fit.

Customs / Adding articulation to some 5 POA FO troopers
« on: January 03, 2018, 05:02:22 PM »
Got a TRU 2 pack exclusive to get the Praetorian Guard.  Didn't want to waste the Executioner Stormtrooper so I added parts using a bootleg Walmart Stormtrooper.  Did that to a 5 POA TLJ Stromtrooper too.  I just didn't like the bootlegs cause they were too stiff and some had torso that started cracking and they had discoloring.  I like how the parts fit on the 5 POA ones.

All 3 together. They were all once 5 POA figures.

One of them is the Walmart one and the other is the 5 POA one.

Customs / Kylo Ren TLJ Super Articulated
« on: September 14, 2017, 02:04:24 PM »
So, last night I just tried tugging on my Walmart 3.75" BS Kylo Ren's soft goods skirt to  see how tight it is and to see if it will come off.  His whole lower  half came off instead.  Luckily, the hole for the peg cracked just a  little so it ended up working perfectly as I removed the soft goods and  now I have a SA Ren that looks closer to his TLJ look.  I haven't  decided whether I'll cut the skirt shorter or not though as I don't mind  how it looks right now.  I had to put an O-ring under the plastic  skirt to push it out so that there isn't a gap between the skirt edge  and the bottom of his belt.  Sorry, the pics aren't the best.

With Hux just for comparison

With cloak on:

Just a note, all I had to do to make the head fit was enlarge the socket a little.  I did not have to cut anything off the peg.

Customs / 3.75 SA TFA Han Solo
« on: June 14, 2017, 12:38:25 PM »
I really wish that we got the regular Han for the 3.75" Black Series line.  It was a limited line so they should have made the core versions instead of ones with limited screen time, so it was disappointing they went with the Starkiller base one with trench coat.  Since they are finally decently priced, I decided to go ahead and make him into his normal TFA look.

I cut off the scarf, and gave him arms from an Indiana Jones figure and used the 5POA jacket.  I cut off the collar from the 5POA one.  I liked the 5POA headsculpt and paint better than the BS one but the neck joints are different sizes, so I had to modify the BS Han neck ball joint to accept the 5POA head.  Honestly, this is what I believe Hasbro should have given us, especially in a limited line.

Customs / Death Trooper with Disney Elite Specilist head and gear
« on: April 04, 2017, 02:11:50 PM »
I wish they made the Specialist the standard figure and the non specialist the exclusive.  I'm lucky I have one Specialist but it's too costly to get more.  Disney Elites are on sale right now, so I took plunge and bought one to modify one of my regular Death Troopers into a Specialist.  Luckily, the Death Trooper from Disney is actually to scale with the BS figures.  However, the amount of work to do the swap, I don't think I'll want to do it again.  So now, I have 2 Death Troopers and 2 Death Trooper Specialists to flank my Krennic.

Online Shopping - Who's Got the Hot Items??? / Bestbuy.ca
« on: March 21, 2017, 08:12:50 PM »
Interesting.  If anyone missed the Walmart $50 6" Tie Fighters, Bestbuy has it for a relatively low price of $64.97.

http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/hasbro-hasbro-star-wars-the-black-series-20-first-order-special-forces-tie-fighter-b3954/10385397.aspx?

They only have 2 left though.

Customs / Baze Malbus 5 POA with articulated elbows
« on: February 02, 2017, 01:36:57 PM »
Well, I told myself I wasn't going to do it, but changed my mind.  My Baze can now hold his rifle 2-handed.  I forgot to take pics, but his arms telescope out so they can bend but if I put the arm straight, I can push it in to cover the joint and you'll just see a cut joint instead.  I think I'm done with this and don't expect to do anymore.  I just wanted these two guys to at least hold their weapons properly. Sick of having to do this...haha.

With Jyn and K2SO.  Cassian hasn't shown up in Canada (yet) which is why I don't have him.

Customs / Chirrut Imwe 5 POA with articulated elbows
« on: January 27, 2017, 12:25:03 PM »
I finally went ahead and gave him elbows that move.  Right hand swivels at the sleeve cuff and the left arm sleeve piece and hand are one piece that swivels.  This was a lot harder than I expected.  I was hoping I didn't have to do the right arm but he still couldn't hold staff with just making the wrist swivel.  The flash brings out the color difference but in hand, not too bad.  I haven't decided on Baze yet.  Don't know if I want to go through the trouble of making him able to hold his weapon 2-handed or not.

With Baze

With Jyn as well (sorry about the fuzzy pic)

Customs / FO Flametrooper 5 POA figure update
« on: January 06, 2017, 12:14:11 PM »
Finally had time to modify the arms.  He can hold the flamethrower two handed now.  I got lazy and did the articulation the way vintage G.I.Joe elbow articulation was done.  Since the main purpose is for him to hold the flamethrower, I just rotated his left arm so the hand faces up.  I was too lazy to give him wrist articulation.

Updated him below.

Customs / 3 3/4" Black Collection TFA Stormtroopers
« on: December 12, 2016, 07:10:37 PM »
I wish Hasbro made a 6 pack like this.  Would have saved me a lot of trouble of making all these.

I have a bunch more normal ones that I haven't added any gear.  Just haven't displayed them yet.

Customs / Kylo Ren
« on: March 22, 2016, 02:13:11 PM »
So, here's all the Kylo Ren looks I can get with the Walmart BS Ren.  Unfortunately, it required 3 figures and none of them use the head that came with the Black Series Ren because of how they sculpted helmet and head as one piece. :(

Using unmasked hood with Armor up head.

Now he pulls down his hood. :)
It's the Armor up head and hood/scarf

Now he takes off his helmet.  Unfortunately, I have bad lighting in my place so you can't see his face with the flash.

Of course, then Ren will just throw his helmet away and you get this look

And then he eventually gets rid of his scarf

Customs / Stormtrooper Officers
« on: December 09, 2015, 04:50:50 PM »
Originally, I couldn't pony up for the Amazon set and wanted a Stormtrooper Officer.  Both are made using SDCC Stormtroopers and Snowtrooper Officer pauldrons.

All I did was trim the front piece of the pauldron smooth so it looks like the Stormtrooper Officer's.  Because the pauldron's are white plastic painted over, for the white one, after trimming, I just took acetone and just wiped off all the red paint and touched up on the black areas.

With my 1 retail Stomtrooper

However, thanks to the member for posting that it was available on Amazon.ca, I managed to get a friend to get me a set.  When that comes in, then I'll convert the orange pauldron Stormtrooper Officer to a black one so I'll have one of each colour.

Anyone have an extra 6" Hux?

Customs / FO Snowtrooper
« on: October 26, 2015, 12:35:17 PM »
Finally got my second one so I took the pauldron off.  Will put it on a SDCC Stormtrooper once I get him in the mail.

As for the Snowtrooper, once you remove the pauldron, his unpainted neck becomes very apparent whereas with the pauldron, it hides that it's unpainted unless you look under his chin.

So I painted the neck on my non-officer one.
