Wampa Cave / Seasons Greetings, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
« on: December 01, 2010, 03:03:59 AM »
hey snowtroopers

I have not been around the forums much in the past year, year and a half, just wanted to say hi to everyone. I would also like to say that I could not resist buying the new gamorrean guard. It really is impressive and think that it belongs in my top 5 start wars figues! It is an exciting time for star wars collectors as they are really making some top notch sculpts and vehicles. I am not much of a star wars collector anymore having sold and traded so much of it away. I still buy the odd figure/vehicles for the kids and really hope they get half the joy I have over the years. I am still collecting but mostly marvel figures of my favorite characters, and still customize when I get spare time.  I hope that everyone gets some star wars goodies for christmas, love reading the star wars reports on boxing day of the awesome sw gifts we receive. Happy Holidays Snowtroopers

The Toys - Snowtrooper Reviews! / Clone Wars Jawa's
« on: November 01, 2009, 01:20:51 PM »
I stole the image from ebay...

I love these little dude's. I picked up a pack@ Toy Traders in Langley yesterday. I have around 30 jawa's so far and I think that these are among my favorite. They are an entirely new sculpt, the smaller one has articulation points @ head, shoulders, waist, hands and the feet spin.. The larger jawa has elbow articulation but the feet are not articulated. They can blend well with the regular figures as they are not over the top cartoony. I like getting 2 figures in a pack and hope that hasbro will continue making them this way.

The Toys - Snowtrooper Reviews! / a few new toys to review
« on: December 24, 2008, 04:43:24 AM »
I picked up a couple figures today at a local shop and thought that I would give a small review..

LC Commander Faie

I like the look of this clone, the helmet is very at-at driver-esc! The green lenses are a nice highlight as well. It comes with a soft goods white cloak as well as a plastic hood that always look better then the cloth version, in my opinion. The helmet is removable and faie has a sweet military styled flat-top hair cut, so dad's would approve their daughters dating faie over the average clone bum... Comes with the standard clone articulation points and blaster, the beige highlights on the armor are not even close to over the top, the lower left leg has a couple pouches sculpted to it also to add a little something different. Comes with mb-ra-7's torso from the bad.  It is slightly better then the average clone.. if you are a trooper fan this is a must!

LC General Grevious
I was surprized a couple weeks ago when I read somewhere that this general grevious was an entirely new sculpt. He is a pretty big guy, standing taller then the VOTC styled chewbacca. The 4 arms are supposed to attach to make 2 arms but I have unsuccessfully tried to merge them. Grev comes with a blue and green lightsaber, his uncivilized blaster, removable chest armor, head and collar. I am not happy to discover that the shoulder armor is about to fall off or that there are no holes in the bastards feet. I do think that it is the best version of general grevious so far. Articulation in the forearms, elbow shoulder of all the arms. The swivel body, hips, knees and feet are also nicely well done.

Off Topic / I Hate Canadian Tire
« on: November 28, 2008, 01:10:23 AM »
Well I stepped foot in Canadian Tire for the very last time time today. They have a sale "officially" starting tomorrow. I asked them if I was able to get a set of gear wrenches tonight because I have tried 3 other times for this same sale and have always been sold out and will not give out rain-cheques, plus I have to work tomorrow and they have a 2 week pre-sale 2 week post sale policy as well which "conveniantly" pop's up now and then! I even offered to pay the full price for the wrenhes and get re-imbursed for the difference tomorrow. The manager was a , I was rude but I think I have valid points. Anyway they stink and I hope you read this and tell someone!

Wampa Cave / darth maul on youtube
« on: September 22, 2008, 03:52:19 AM »

I found this while looking on youtube, not too bad. Lucas could make a movie about Darth Maul, he is the only thing (other then qui-gon) about ep1 that I like!

Wampa Cave / Who is going to get the BMF?
« on: June 15, 2008, 02:13:48 PM »
I really want one of these, and I am planning on getting 1! I would really like to see a updated/scale version of the Slave 1 as well.

The Toys - Snowtrooper Reviews! / at-ap walker
« on: April 02, 2008, 12:37:27 AM »
got this for my son for his b day along with some troops, he wanted the lego version but after really taking a good look at the lego one i decided to do myself a favor, and our feet in the middle of the night and go with the hasbro version. the good really comes down to hasbro is still making vehicles, although i am not sure this was that high on the wants list? i would much rather see a swamp speeder made, they are cool vehicles. i think that the legs should have more articulation, but that wouls eventually lead to loose parts down the road. the cab is approx the size of the at-at's head and shorter then the chicken walker. it can hold 2 pilots and one gunner on the roof mounted cannon. it stands very well on 2 legs as the middle leg can swing up ;)
the cannon can rotate 360 and has a deadly plastic projectile  :tongue0024: over all it's a cool star wars vehicle and if my son looses interest in it i will gladly take possession down the road..

The Toys - Snowtrooper Reviews! / unleashed troopers
« on: March 30, 2008, 05:29:50 AM »
over all they are boy great figures but have some minor flaws that are worth mention.

imperial jumptrooper is awesome, 14 points of articulated goodness...excellent paint job down to the dirty boots. the black highlights on the helmet are awesome, sorta like the mc-trooper. comes with stormtrooper blaster and stand. stands really well without the stand. the forarms are a tad bit short proportionly. the armour really works well to make the connection from clone to trooper. 4.5 - 5

evo trooper is money, the figure also has 14 points of buisness, comes with backpack, large blaster rifle and 2 sidearms, and stand. i would like to have seen this guy with a couple holsters to house the blasters. the boots are a little more herman munster and it doesn't stand as well as the jumper, but they are cool boots and a very small point. the black highlights stand out here as well. the arms seem short here as well 4.5 - 5
