Anyone else looking forward to Fanboy's release finally on Jan 18th.  anybody even know what I am talking about?

Wampa Cave / Force Unleashed now with pics
« on: October 20, 2007, 05:53:52 PM »
I just got back from Star Wars Fans Day in Plano Tx.  I had a chance to get a look at the HAsbro booth and the upcomming figures from the Force unleased, 2008 wave 1 and the new battlepacks all look amazing.  The back half of the year looks impressive.  I will upload my pics from my phone soon

Hermi Odle

This is a big figure.  Not as big as Elephant Mon but close.  Good Articulation, soft goods and an opening mouth
This figure will not fit in the Hasbro figure cases, not sure if there is a case out there that will fit

Roron Corobb

NOt bad articulation, saber is the same as the Mctrooper.  Interesting head scuplt with nice detail of the gills for "blowing his own horn"

C-3PO with Salacious Crumb

Limted articulation, no knee joints.  Paint is OK, nice metal vac gold but the silver leg paint isn't reflective.
The eye looks good when pulled out butwhen retracted it looks odd coming out fo the back of his head.  Crumb is a new fig.

Anakin Skywalker Nelvaan

A movie based figure of the animated version.  good paint job.  Has optional severed arm

Darth Malak

His head os quite pale which doesn't help the picture.  He has a removable jaw and damage underneath.  Comes with saber and hilt

Darth Revan

Interesting fig, great sculpt for some reason it comes with a Malak hilt instead of Darth Revans.  Cloak is removeable

General Grievous

This is a tall figure much taller than other Grevous's.  Comes with battle mask, rifle and a sword which stores in a hilt on his back.
Ugly dude under the mask
Biggest problem was the figure fell apart coming out of the package.  Came apart at the torso.  Really hard to get back together so be carefull taking it out

McQuarrie Concept Starkiller Hero

Cool figure Removeable mask, headgear and blaster

Wampa Cave / Where Science meets Imagination Star Wars exhibit in Fort Worth
« on: September 05, 2007, 02:46:05 PM »
Well one perk of having to work in Dallas right now is I had the opportunity to catch the Where Science meets Imagination exhibit.  Managed to catch it on the final weekend.  It was packed.  This is the exhibit for the Star Wars Fan.  I wanted to take so many things home.  The exhibit then ends in a Star Wars gift shop.

Here are my pics

Wampa Cave / Hasbro Q&A
« on: August 21, 2007, 08:24:26 PM »
I know this came up a while ago but did anyone get anywhere with having Snowtroopers.ca being added to the Bi-weekly Q&A?  I have noticed that there is now a UK site that is participating so why not some Canadian representation?

The Toys - Snowtrooper Reviews! / Elite Tie Fighter
« on: August 08, 2007, 10:35:52 PM »
I just got my 181st Tie Fighter from TRU.com  the Tie fighter is a nice improvement from the last issue.  This time around the center pod is from the recent White Tie fighter so it has the new hatch.  The paint is also well done.  The 181st version is grey vs the blue version of the past.  Also a nice touch is the kill markings and red stripes on the wings

As for the pilot it is a repaint of the Saga version. The vest is painted grey but not painted well.  Looks like it was done by hand.  The helmet also is misshappen but I don't know if it the case with all of them.  Now I need a Baron to go with it

The Toys - Snowtrooper Reviews! / VTAC Snowtrooper
« on: May 25, 2007, 08:39:57 PM »
What can i say.  This is one sweet figure. 14 points of articulation. Soft Goods Kama. Removeable helmet.  Great paint job too.  The head is much darker than previously released vresions.  In comparison to the TAC Tin set snowtrooper this figure is a little shorter and the helmet is wider.  Also gone from previous releases is the holster.  The only down side is for MOC collectors who want to get the coin set.  the case is heat sealed.   Other than that there is nothing that I can think of that needs to be improved on this figure.  10/10  This is the ultimate snowtrooper

The Toys - Snowtrooper Reviews! / V-Wing
« on: March 26, 2007, 11:25:20 PM »
Now here is a ship that I have been waiting for since its brief onscreen appearance.  It is one of the best vehicles produced from ROTS along with the ARC 170.  The size seems to be pretty close to bang on about the same as the A-wing with deployed panels about the height of the White Tie Fighter.  When the wings are folded they deploy the rear landing gear.  The nose gear folds down from the front.  it has a single cockpit and a fixed droid.  There are also two sets of solar panel\vanes that can be adjusted around the cockpit.  To deploy the wings they are first pushed inwards towards the main body.   You can then deploy the wings by pressing in the top engine duct.  There are also 4 fireable missles.  This is one sweet ship, worth getting two for sure.  Now if only they will release the ROTS Palpatine shuttle for the Viwings to escort.  Great paint and great moldiong detail.

The Toys - Snowtrooper Reviews! / Sith Infiltrator
« on: March 26, 2007, 11:14:05 PM »
The Sith Infiltrator is one of the new vehicles in this years line up.  While it is nice to see this vehicle the big downside is its side.  On its own its proportions are correct, but by other ships it just seems small.  It has pop up wings.  It also has two in wing launchers that if you intall the missles as per the instructions you can not open the weapons covers on the main body.  You can ut the two launching proid droids in there but it looks lame.  the sides of teh main hull open to reveal another set of launchers, which will hold either projectile.  The other thing I don't like is the front landing gear as they do not retract, just like in all of the other versions of the infiltrator we have seen.  The do not provide great support and stand out when in flight mode.  Still not a bad ship but not great  a solid 6 for me.
