The Last Jedi (2017-???) / Finn & Phasma two pack
« on: January 16, 2018, 12:55:53 PM »
Galactic Hunter seems to be indicating that this set, along with the new Flametrooper and C'ai will not be coming to retail in the US but will be exclusives to Entertainment Earth. Here's the link: http://www.galactichunter.com/gh/story/ad-final-hasbro-star-wars-last-jedi-figures-entertainment-earth
Do we know if this is the case here in Canada? I know that some people here have already found C'ai in stores.

Other Star Wars Toys & Collectibles / Disney Star Wars Toybox figures
« on: November 03, 2017, 02:19:13 PM »
Is anyone going to be picking these up? There are no Disney Stores in my province and I have never ordered from the online Disney Store, so I'm not sure how high their shipping costs would be. I may have to check it out though as these do look pretty cool. If anyone does see these in a Canadian Disney store, I'm curious as to what they are charging for them here. I'm also looking forward to hearing a review if anyone has them in hand!

Scout Report / Kaia Boutique

Is anyone here familiar with this store in Quebec?  It looks like there is quite a bit of interesting stuff there. I see the wave 4 Rogue One figures listed, but no price.

Other Star Wars Toys & Collectibles / Disney droid factory
« on: April 23, 2017, 05:29:20 PM »
Has anyone been able to collect some of these? They look like they would be a lot of fun, especially now that protocol droids have been added to the line. It's too bad that you have to go to a theme park to get them!

Wampa Cave / What are kids collecting today?
« on: April 22, 2017, 08:10:09 PM »
When I was a kid it was the 3 3/4 Kenner figures and vehicles. Now that I have my own kids, my three teenage sons are into Star Wars, but don't seem to have much interest in action figures like most of us older folks did back in the 70's and 80's. My eldest son is 18 and is big into collecting Lego but also bought the 6 inch Ahsoka. My 15 year old likes Star Wars but doesn't collect anything Star Wars related apart from the Battlefront game. My 13 year old is all about lightsabers and Star Wars tsum tsums. Is it just in my family or are kids just not that interested in action figures anymore? Figures seem to move pretty slow at the stores around here too, so it has me wondering if it's mainly adults keeping the action figure lines going.

Previous Hasbro 3.75" Star Wars Lines (1995-2015) / EU/Legends figures
« on: January 30, 2017, 12:54:08 PM »
Probably like a lot of other people, I picked up a lot of the EU/Legends figures back when Hasbro was regularly making them. I know some of these figures like Darth Revan, Jacen and Jaina Solo were hard to come by even when they were new, but now that time has gone by, they really seem to be selling for a lot. I'm wondering if anyone thinks these figures will continue to increase in value, or as we get farther away from the old EU, or these characters will be forgotten and the figures won't be in high demand? I have some that I'm tempted to trade, but am worried that someday I'll get nostalgic for the old EU and not be able to afford to buy any of them back!

Rogue One (2016-2017) / Rogue One figure wants
« on: December 03, 2016, 04:52:34 PM »
Who else would you like to see as a figure that hasn't been announced yet? For me it's Rebel troopers. It looks like there are all sorts of Rebel troopers in this movie, with classic style uniforms and all new uniforms. Rogue One should be a Rebel forces troop builders dream, but so far there have been zero generic trooper figures announced. I hope Hasbro makes at least some of them before the Rogue One line ends!

Rogue One (2016-2017) / A-Wing with Hera
« on: December 03, 2016, 02:04:00 PM »
Has anyone spotted the A-Wing here in Canada? So far I have had no luck. If anyone has one, what do you think of it? Was it worth buying?

Wampa Cave / 3 3/4 Fan's Choice
« on: November 14, 2016, 08:43:39 AM »
If I'm remembering right, I think there was a report out of one of the more recent conventions that Hasbro would have a fan's choice poll for the 3 3/4 line in 2017. I'm guessing that the winner would be made for the basic 5poa line, rather than Wal-Mart exclusive. Just for the sake of discussion, I'm wondering who people would like to see win? Personally I would like an obscure character from the old Ewoks or Droids TV series that would have no chance otherwise, but I would also be happy to support a cause for a PT or OT character. There has been nothing new in the 5poa line from the first six films for a long time, and hardly anything at all from Episodes I and II.

Wampa Cave / Fan's choice 6 inch
« on: July 08, 2016, 07:12:46 AM »
I'm not voting in this one since I don't collect 6 inch, but I'm wondering what others have been voting for. Personally I think it would be funny if enough fans conspired together to push someone obscure like Ken Palpatine to the top! Wouldn't that get Hasbro and Lucasfilm's goat!

Wampa Cave / The future of 3 3/4
« on: April 25, 2016, 10:56:57 AM »
Here's a quote from Lucasfilm's Pablo Hidalgo on Twitter last night:
"Expecting the 40-year old 3.75" toy format to resonate with kids nowadays is like kids of the 70/80s really digging wooden milk trucks."
He followed it up with this one:
"I just have a hard time imagining it continuing much further into the future."
I don't think that he has inside knowledge that the end is near for 3 3/4, he's just giving his opinion. But I do find it interesting and maybe even concerning for 3 3/4 fans that someone at Lucasfilm would say this, and odd that someone at Lucasfilm would say something pessimistic rather than trying to positively promote a product that one of their long time partners, Hasbro, is trying to sell. Do Hasbro's sales figures disagree with him? Is 3 3/4 not one of Hasbro's best selling Star Wars products anymore? Kids probably don't buy them as much as they did in the 70's and 80's, but are things really this bleak? I know the line has to end sometime and I'm fine with that. I don't want to be buying the latest Star Wars figures when I'm 70. It just seems like a strange time to be talking about the lline ending when Star Wars is the biggest it's been in years.
Any other thoughts on the future of the 3 3/4 line?

Wampa Cave / Hasbro Pulse
« on: June 27, 2015, 08:06:10 AM »
The Hasbro Pulse site is now up and running. If it turns out to be as grand as they say, it should be pretty good. Here's the link: http://pulse.hasbro.com/en-us/about
I tried to register, but it looks like it only accepts a US address.

Wampa Cave / Star Wars cereal
« on: May 06, 2015, 01:39:08 PM »
There is going to be a new Star Wars cereal by General Mills! This time it will be permanent rather than just for a limited time. The bad news is, it won't be available here in Canada. I asked General Mills about it today on Twitter and they said it's only going to be in USA. Too bad. I remember we got C-3PO's here, and I seem to remember seeing the Episode II cereal here as well. Here's the link to read all about it: http://www.blog.generalmills.com/2015/05/ready-to-bring-the-force-to-your-breakfast-table/

If anyone spots Admiral Raddus, Fenn Rau, Lt. Selfla and Galen Erso I'm looking to buy!

When I first saw pictures of these figures I never thought that I would be buying any, but now a year after they first came out I now own all of them from waves 1 and 2 of Saga Legends and the Mission Series except for the Seeker Droid. Somehow they ended up appealing to me and now they are all I collect. I like that they're cheap (several of mine came through sales or trades) and that they're sturdy. They aren't perfect and it can be tough finding them with good paint jobs, but I like them anyway. My only concern right now is how large this line might grow. Counting everything released to date and all known upcoming figures, there are already 59 figures in total, not including re-releases. I don't really want to build a huge collection, but right now I'm still in the game and hoping to find wave 3 soon.
