Customs / Custom Jaina "Sticks" Solo X-Wing Pilot

Just a quick and easy headswap of Jaina Solo's head onto a Plouur Ilo body. The helmet even fits on the hair! :D

Customs / Adding joints to characters without them

Specifically, the more spindly limbed females (SOTE Comic Pack Leia, and CW Ventress for these examples)

I found this Leia at the flea market for a dollar, but the lack of elbows really bugged me. I had a few Revoltech figures in the past, and liked the ball joint articulation they had, so i found a package of replacement joints on ebay, cut the arms about where i imagined the elbow would be, then drilled holes into the segments, inserted the ends of the joint and presto!

No pics yet, but i did the same thing to the CW Ventress this morning as well. (the one with the Dooku Hologram) She was simpler to do because of the swivel forearms. I just popped those off, cut the arms a bit higher up to reduce any monkey arm potential, and did the same as i did with Leia. Took all of 5 minutes (not counting shipping time from ebay for the joints LOL)

Customs / Re: The transformation of Mara Jade Skywalker (TBS 3-3/4")
« on: February 23, 2014, 01:47:50 PM »
Nice Job!!!! (...) Lots of people have said they were going to use a Scarlet from G.I. Joe, but most of the head have pony tails, which was not Mara. I might try the Baroness head from the Rise of Cobra, especially since Sienna Miller is quite attractive. I just need to find some correct red to be able to paint and then get the black highlights, like that great picture.

Yeah, I've seen those comments, but I thought the same thing, but then realized they were talking about this version of Scarlett from the Rise of Cobra movie with her hair loose:

I have this figure, but only one and I'm ready to sacrifice it for Mara yet, but might give it a try if it doesn't involve any modifications, just to see the result.

Anyway, now I'm also like you thinking about maybe painting her hair with a more reddish color to match that of Mara Jade. I'll see what I can find.

And I'll try to do her cape as well. In the coming days maybe... :)

I did just that myself (the Rise of Cobra Scarlett on Mara's body) I think she looks a LOT better than stock (I also cut the hair down on the stock head and put it on an Open Jacket version of Juno Eclipse to make a "Smuggler Mara"

*edit: Now with Pics!*

And what i did with the original Mara head:

haha, nope, most of them are only held together with the screws! no glue involved :)
now if only swapping the arms were that simple...

I hear that! I had to restring about 16 of my surviving Joes after the O-Rings dry rotted. I got a cheap spool of fishing line from walmart, then made a loop around my thumb (which turned out to be close in size to the O-Ring), then reassembled. Zartan and Zandar were the hardest, as their torsos were sonic welded, but careful work with a utility knife fixed that! :D Hopefully they should last a LOT longer now. :) The trickiest part was keeping everything together til i got the torso halves back in place.

Customs / Question about previous TIE Interceptors...
« on: October 26, 2010, 10:34:26 PM »
Hi all, I was wondering if the solar panels from older TIE Interceptors would work on the newer cockpit used for the latest Interceptors and TIE Fighters. Basically i want to get a set and turn my Eyeball into a Royal Guard Interceptor. The paint i can always do later.

Scout Report / Re: Vintage-packaged TIE Fighter and Snowspeeder

I agree with everyone who loves the packaging. It just LOOKS cool, especially the AT-AT. I wish i'd been able to find one before i found my Legacy one.

Haven't seen them in Winnipeg myself, though others have reported them being around. I just got the Legacy (large wing) version yesterday, marked down to 31.99.

^Agreed. Of all the fighters on both sides, i have to say i like the Bombers the best...Y or B Wing, or the TIE Bomber.

Anyone had an idea of customizing one and turning it into one of the Gand fighters from the Bacta War? my Zuckuss is cryng out for a ship now...heheh

Was the TIE Pilot included with this supposed to have the "Ace" stripes on the helmet, like on the Evolutions TIE Pilot, or just unmarked like on the TIE Interceptor Pilot?

I just noticed on both mine, and the one in Rebelscum's Photo archive, they have the Ace stripes, but is noted as NOT having them.

Don't get me wrong, but the other base model TIEs have come with figures...why not the Bomber?
