Wampa Cave / Re:AFA Graded Figures

AFA isn't really for Canadians unless you can get down to ND and mail them off from there and get yourself a mailbox south of the Border so that when they're done being graded you have a place to receive them.. Think about it..

Lets say you have a $200 US Vintage POTF Amanaman.

Ok, shipping to AFA is $16 CND, insured at $200--you pay 14%x($)1.38 + $5.00CND (they will have to pay Canada Customs Tariffs to receive the figure to grade it, which comes out of your pocket) to them + $25 US AFA grading fees. Then, you pay $16 US for them to ship it back to you and another ($200US)14%x1.38 again + the $5.00 fee in Tariffs from CC..

Uh, sounds like quite a nightmare, eh? The cases are nice, and its good if you've got some really highgrade items that you want to 'preserve' (although there's a whole universe of argument about that whole thing in itself) but it isn't feasible for us up here. In the end it'd cost something like $150 CND for one average value vinty figure to get graded. Easier to get those hard (ungraded) acrylic cases from Cloudcity or Oscar at Rebelscum.

I guess buying an AFA graded figure is a different story but if you're someone with something to get graded, there's a few obstacles to be hopped.

This is feedback long overdue! I haven't been able to login to the old forums for the longest time, glad I can finally get in here and leave some much deserved praise!
As I'm sure most will agree, Rene is super cool to deal with, everything went *perfect* and I hope to do it again soon!

Thx man!
