The hardest part was the fact that it was built by eye and with no measurment references (I couldn't find any in my searches). The only thing I found was the length of the Master Replicas model at 18.9". I used crude math to figure out placement of all the parts. I do admit there was a few more sources of materials: WalMart USA for the rifle scope mounts and Michael's for the Sculpy for the hand grips. The nice thing about using hardware items, the PVC, wood and copper give it a good feel and weight. The trigger is a large brass plant hook, so, no, it does not move. It's threaded into the pine handlegrip and is very solid.

Goodday all, I wanted to share my photo of a labour of love I just completed. Some of you may remember I posted a ways back a 'dollar store' smallish DH17? Anyway, It inspired me to take on building from scratch a 'full size' replica (I mean the full almost 19" long). This thing was made from dollar store stuff to Lowe's hardware items. Anyway, here it is and if anyone's interested, I can post the method to this madness.

Awesome, I love the Snowtrooper nod in the 'family room' scene!! Man, I wish I would have done that. That should be a 'condition' for next years' contest: stick a Snowtrooper in a Bizarre out-of-place scene...love it!

Saw it, loved it!! I knew I would. I really appreciated the tie-ins from the original film from 'my time' in the 80s. I'm not a big 3D fan so the 3D was just OK for my liking. I could take the fad or leave it. But, spectacular friggin' ride and I'm gonna catch it again in Jan for sure.

The price is reasonable, your not calculating the added value of Dicaprio touching some of it...

Hmm, I think the 'blacked out' areas in the photos indicate that maybe Leo decided he wanted his stuff back!!

I've been finding my Photobucket pics on websites all over the internet lately? Wierd or what? No big deal I suppose, there's nothing in my Photobucket that I truly care about, but, I find it strange that I have a username and password for my account on there and my pics are public domain anyway? I suppose that was something in the 'small print' that I agreed to when I started the account. So, I guess it's safe to say, if you don't want certain pics 'out' on the internet, don't put them on Photobucket I guess....

the worst thing for me was they had the CW 'Embo' wave at the St. Laurent TRU in Ottawa last weekend, so, I figured: "Hey, I'll wait, not get these cuz they'll come to Kingston 'this' weekend and I'll score a few of them on sale". NOT!!

I got the "I shoulda got'em when I saw'em blues"!!
