Off Topic / Rumor-Target coming to Canada
« on: November 08, 2006, 03:18:56 PM »
So  friend of mine heard that a Target (and an Ikea) will be built in the new retail big box development going up in town.  Been searching the web and cannot find any truth to this.  anyone else hear of this possibility.  If walmart came up, target has to be thinking about it. :confused0024:

I went in a couple of Zellers today and noticed backwards signs on the Saga Basic figs pegs.  Flipped it over and it says starting Sat  that the price will be $7!!!

Checked the flyer that I just got and sure enough on the bottom of page 4 is a small photo of everyone's favorite peg warmer bib fortuna with a sale price of $7.   Use that flyer at your walmart, sears, TRU et all for price matching!!!

Feedback O-T / Pegger
« on: July 25, 2006, 09:43:13 PM »
Couldn't find any feedback started for this trooper so I'm happy to be the first.

Made a trade with pegger and the figs showed up just as expected.  couldn't be happier.  This trooper will not let you down and won't rip you off.

Thanks Tim. :)`

Non-Star Wars Toys / Transformers Titaniums
« on: July 22, 2006, 08:26:24 PM »
Saw these at TRU for I think $6.99.  They had three different ones.

Optimus Prime
and another who's name escapes me.

Not into the whole Transformer series at all so my apologies for not remembering the third.

Computer Talk / Wife ok's new computer
« on: July 04, 2006, 10:04:44 PM »
Got a new computer after 8 long years of Windows '98SE and a P3 700MhZ with a 20G hard drive.

I got  a Pentium Dual core at 30Ghz with a 250G hard drive with a DVD burner and the girl said that I was getting one of the "low end" computers.  I looked at her and told her what I was replacing.  She laughed as I told her this was by no means low end to me.

Now the uneviable task of transferring everything from one to the other.

Going to be a long night!!!!

Non-Star Wars Toys / Pirates of the Caribbean 2 stuff at TRU
« on: June 17, 2006, 07:38:32 PM »
Saw some 3 3/4" figs for $8 and bump and go's for $13.  also had mini ships (sort of like the action fleet series) and a playset.

Sorry can't remember all the prices :mad0218:

Just like the title says, anyone have a clue as to how long MR is going to have the Lightsaber sale for $99 plus a free mini, plus free shipping (continental US) sale for?  I wouldn't mind getting a Luke saber with the sidious mini sent to my buddy in Buffalo, but I won't have the cash for a couple of weeks and the wife wouldn't be thrilled if I just went and did it without paying for it first

Couldn't find a promo end date anywhere.  Ideas??????

Just thought I'd throw this out there.  Has there been any confirmed reports of the Geonosis Wave on Canadian card showing up at regular retail yet (Zellers, TRU, Walmart, Sears, The Bay etc.)?

Snowtrooper Collections / NEW PICS!! fish fan's epic journey
« on: March 15, 2006, 08:03:30 PM »
ok so almost 8 years ago my wife and I moved into our house and I thought at long last I will be able to make a room for all my stuff.  The builder asked if we wanted anything roughed in in the basement and I without hesitation said NO.  Me being the alpha male that I like to think I am decided to do EVERYTHING myself.  that way the basement would look exactly as I wanted it to.  The first couple of years nothing really happend.  the computer sat on a desk and moved around as I set up a worktable for myself to do whatever hobby caught my eye at the time, and my stuff sat in storage in the garage.  then about 5 years ago I decided it was time to get going.  we live in a townhouse and the living room/dining room had spent the first three years as just a living room, not enough room for a couch, chair, coffe table, entertainment unit (that went from a 27" tv to a 56" over the course of time) and a dining room table in an area only 16' X 15'.

I thought to myself this can't be all that tough, throw up some 2X4's drywall and paint and it's done.  Then I realized there was electrical, insulation, proper framing for drywalling, sanding and patching, sanding and patching and sanding and patching.  Did I forget to mention sanding and patching.  then painting first second and possibly third coat.  drop ceiling or drywall? where do I want outlets and where do I want lights?  how wide should the hall be? 2X4 walls built in place or 2X2 furring strips on the concrete to maximize space?  Good Lord the process from going to an empty concrete box to a livable space that was more than just a drywalled concrete box is overwhelming.

It is now almost finished.   the carpet is in and the furniture is slowly coming in (just missing half a sectional and a coffee table.  a couple of shelves here and there and the place is golden.  To those of you thinking " it took 5 years to do?"  yes and no.  the first 2 years were only sundays as I was working full time and never really had the initiative to go to work on the basement in the evenings.   Then there were the outright "i've had enough of this crap" lulls that lasted as much as 3 months at a time.  I would say that I've spent a good 2 solid years of daily working on this beast just spread out over the last 5.

I thought I'd share a "pictoral" journey with everyone that shows the work that i've put into it and what it ended up becoming.  The end pics will be of my collection, that's why it's in this section.

The High End: Replicas & Statues / My first GG bust
« on: March 13, 2006, 09:26:57 AM »
So the other day I watched my neighbours son for a couple of hours, got him juice, made him lunch and took him to school.  They wanted to pay me for it, but we've been neighbours for 4 years now and get along so well that I refused.  My kids play with their kids at either my house or their house all the time, so I just saw it as the son was here to play and it was really baby sitting.

They knew that I have just finished my basement and decided since I would take any money for it that they would buy me something for being a great neighbour and helping them out with numerous other things over the years.

My "basement warming gift" is the GG ROTS Darth Vader Bust.  Thought I'd share a cool story with a Star Wars ending.
