I noticed after the fact, if you want to order something really cheap, (probably less than $20) then they DON'T seem to charge the customs fees. I guess since it is less than the allowable limit for duty free. And there is no minimum order to get free shipping, so you're probably better off placing separate orders for all the really cheap items. For example the maul 2 pack is $7.48Can, free shipping and no taxes or duty if you order it on its own.

Sorry, based on your post, I'm not sure what you were asking them.

Based on their response it seems you were asking TRU Canada if they would carry Gree, since he is a TRU exclusive in the US. Is that the case? Because Gree has been found at TRU in Canada. Or are you pointing out to them how over-priced he is at Canadian TRUs?

I'm curious to see what your actual question was.

Free international shipping all weekend on Use code FREESHIP

They have a few deals on star wars stuff right now too:

Star Wars Rogue One Black Series Figure 3-Pack comes to about $38 Canadian. Plus tax and duty. Still pretty good. And the tax and duty is added to your cart so you can see your final total all in before you submit an order. No surprises on delivery.

The giant at-act is $134Can.

Also saw the maul sister 2 pack and the rogue one baze malbus two pack for $7.48Can each.

Website is painfully slow and you cant use gift cards. I had one i tried to use but their international site doesnt accept them.

Well 179US translates to about 229Can which means it will likely be at least 249Can at TRU.

My first impression is I think it looks pretty cool. If this was OT based I might be interested. It could make for a nice way to display a bunch of figures. But being based on the new movie I have no desire to get it.

And at $250 I'm not sure anyone will be that interested.

Personally I wish they would do a series of smaller interlocking playsets. I would think that would be less risk than this. I'm surprised hasbro is putting a playset this expensive out especially given how negative they have been on them in recent years.

I wonder how other playset have done in other lines recently (ninja turtles for exampls).

There definitely needs to be change from film to film. Especially when there is a 30 year gap. But that royal guard design just looks lame.

One thing I thought Lucas did pretty well with the prequels (even though that was extrapolating back in time, while now it is forward) was make the prequel designs new enough while still feeling like it was a natural progression or evolution. The royal guard for episode 8 looks like they tried too hard or something.

As for the figures I only have a desire to get maybe Rey and Luke. But I may hold out for vintage collection versions. I think I'll pretty much be sitting this one out.

Man hot toys is just pumping the stuff out! Too much to collect Em all. But a select few are well worth it. Tarkin looks great. Also tempted by jedi Luke.  And the hoth leia looks stunning.

You're welcome. I've been looking for Boba. What province? I'll have to keep an eye out for Uhura as well. Thanks for the info.

My find was in Ontario.  Funny I didn't realize there were two Vadera in the series. Wouldn't mind finding the movie one that comes with the stormtrooper. Never seen that one in store.

If anyone here collects the Titanium Series helmets or has been waiting to buy them when prices go down, they're now showing up at Dollarama for $4 each.

- :fett:

Thanks for the heads up (no pun intended). I don't collect these but wanted the Vader and Boba helmets. Was able to find both today. The Vader I'd never even seen before. I had forgotten it was based on Rebels. It's quite nice.

Anyway thanks again.

And for trek fans they had a bunch of reaction uhura figures. First Dr. Mccoy now uhura. So odd how they get them in batches of one character. They also had a tonne of Firefly 6" Jayne figures.

Vader Legacy pack is $40 at but out of stock.  Can probably price match at the store.

I can confirm that they scanning at $40.00 at my local Walmart store.
Mine too!

I have yet to open any of these (will only be opening the ones that are making their debut) but I have to admit the carded figures look really nice. I initially thought they should have gone with a vintage inspired box to keep the box packaging for 6" but now that I've got them in person there's just nothing like the pure vintage carded look.

Now if only they could do a vintage collection 3.75" R2 on a SW card.

I already have a Yakface.  And I like it.  Voted for Sim Aloo - advisor to the Sith.   :maul:
Same here. Sim Aloo is definitely preferable to yak face.

As for the fan choice results vs. What habro posted for the top 6, obviously they used their discretion to pick their final 6. In and of itself, that is fine. They have that right and there are probably many reasons as to why. The problem is this is a fan vote meant to promote fan relations and goodwill. Therefore there should have been a full explanation/rationale as to why their top 6 don't reflect those of the actual votes.  Also if the tonnika sisters were actually off limits as they were in the past, this should have been clearly stated up front. The lack of transparency undermines the entire process and now there's going to be the inevitable backlash.

Hopefully an explanation is forthcoming, but right now it looks like they managed to bungle this one up.

Met up with Marc this week to sell him some figures. Yet another super snowtrooper! Would be happy to deal with again.

Wampa Cave / Re: What are kids collecting today?

My daughter, in grade 2, was really into shopkins for a while. But the big thing I noticed is she collects differently than I did (and do). She doesn't care about collecting a complete set of anything.  She just wants a bunch to play with and the ones she likes. But she's not even that picky. For her it's more about the playing than the actual collecting. Same with Lego.  She likes to play with it but doesn't really collect it.

Plus the way toys are produced now they flood the market to the point you cannot even come close to "collecting them all". Shopkins cost a bloody fortune if you want to collect a whole series. Nevermind all 6 or 7 that they've produced in the last 3 years. Toy companies market differently now.
It's the same with hockey cards. To collect a complete set you have to spend over $100. What little kid can collect a set?

So she doesn't talk about trying to get a whole set of shopkins. She also doesn't mention classmates collecting much.
And the other kids I know, nieces and nephews, friends' kids, none of them collect action figures. It's all about video games, or lights sabres,  etc. And not really about "collecting".

Exactly, we need Sim Aloo. Collectors unite! Help complete the Kenner line in the modern era!

Where the heck did Ben Skywalker come from? Of all the EU characters to rally around...  :confused0024: If the EU fans had to rally around someone at least choose someone interesting like Jaxxon!

Bah, we just got a yakface.  :winking0071:

I will be voting OT for sure. And someone who's never been done in the modern line. Sim Aloo is a possibility. Hasbro should have completed the original Kenner line 10 years ago, it should have been a no-brainer. But in this area, Hasbro has shown no big-picture thinking and extreme short-sightedness. So someone I would not think should need a vote, clearly needs votes to let Hasbro know.  :shakehead:  :mad0218:
