Right on ambasah that will be great to have the kids seeing one of these on the big screen! My son was 5 when he got to see his first (Force Awakens). Their anticipation and excitement will feed off of yours,  it makes for alot of fun leading up to that day and fun in getting to finally see it together.
I can't say either of us was impressed with them killing off Han Solo that night but it did trigger some good discussion afterwards if that's any consolation.

I bought my tickets for it as well, at the Silver City St. VItal theatre in Winnipeg. The little extras they mentioned piqued my curiosity. I see AMC, Cinemark and other chains in the states are advertising a similar (maybe exactly the same? ) event. Perhaps more details will be revealed as we get closer to the release date.

For anyone that preordered Battlefront 2, the beta starts on Wednesday Oct. 4 and runs until Oct.9. I called my ebgames and they gave me a code since the codes weren't available a month ago when I did the preorder.

Hasbro, Mattel and other toy makers must be getting nervous right now. Walmart will have them right where they want them, over a barrel.
Hasbro's going to start trying some weird stuff in order to try and stay relevant.

If you buy anything Star Wars at the Disney Store today, make sure to get your set of mini posters. Haven't opened mine yet but it comes in a black envelope with a TLJ logo on it.

Limited to one per person.

Interesting about Quebec - I didn't know that. Sounds pretty civilized of you folks.
Honestly the best part of these things is the atmosphere leading up to midnight when you have a good lively group of us geeks and our geek kids. The right mix can make it pretty fun.

It's a win for the store too because tired / hyped people surrounded by other tired / hyped people will typically impulse buy more than well rested people who are on their own.

We don't seem to get these in Winnipeg either. I'm assuming those stores that were selected must do the most business in Canada so those "top 5" made the cut.  I'd go to it if they did one in Winnipeg, but I think they'd get a turnout of only around 20 to 30 people rather than the 100 that their tshirt and poster limit implies that they're anticipating.

Scout Report / Re: Ontario Superstores - save the tax today August 12
« on: August 14, 2017, 03:53:10 AM »
Thanks for the tip on the Jakks 18 inch hover tank driver.I found it for  $17.44 at superstore in Winnipeg. Only ever saw it in Canada at but held off buying it because it was $36 at the time.

I've ordered some of the other posters in the past from them.  It's a quick transaction, and shipping is included so it's not like you use your points and then have to spend money on top of that. Posters have always arrived in about 5 weeks in a sturdy cardboard tube.

Outside of knowing a theatre manager or spending a mint through someone who acquired from a theatre manager or Disney Movie Rewards,  I don't know how else one  could acquire these.
