Rogue One (2016-2017) / Re: Rogue One figure wants
« on: December 17, 2016, 10:57:07 AM »
This movies is packed with toyetic characters. There are so many kinds of troopers and aliens in the background. All the different Rebel soldiers. I'm afraid that what we've got is all we'll ever get seeing as Episode VIII was originally scheduled for May. As in, Hasbro may have planned for the Rogue One line to end swiftly so they could get merchandise out for 8. Hopefully I'm wrong, because I've got plenty of money I want to spend on Rogue One toys!

Awesome. I'm jealous. I've always wanted to visit Disney during the Christmas season.

I picked up the Starspeeder back when I lived in Seattle. It's actually a great toy. My kids love it.

Wampa Cave / Rogue One - What did you think? (Possible spoilers)

I thought it was pretty good. Enjoyed it a lot. I think I'll like it better on second viewing, now that I know the characters.
The last 30 minutes were amazing. Overall, I'd say it was the best structured of all the Star Wars movies. It might not be my favourite, but it ranks near the top.

Can't wait!

I also found the second set of Black Series 6" figures at TRU in Ontario today.
They had the exclusive tank driver or whatever it is too.

Scout Report / Re: Toys at The Bay

Stopped by The Bay again today and found they'd stocked the Rogue One 3.75" line ($9.99 each) and the Black Series 6" ($27.99). Cheaper than TRU, at least, and they had all the figures from the first waves in stock.

I was looking for some socks today and stopped in to The Bay at the mall. Imagine my surprise when I found a large, new toy section. A quite sizeable section of the floor, though mostly Lego, there were aisles for all the major toy brands. Prices seemed in line with TRU. Might be a good place to watch for sales. It's nice to see toys back at The Bay.

Also noticed they sell online:

Scout Report / Rogue One Black Series found in Ontario
« on: September 13, 2016, 08:52:04 PM »
Like it says in the subject, I found the full assortment of 6" Black Series Rogue One figures at an Ontario Walmart this afternoon. I don't really collect that line, so I left them all there.
$24.97 each

Wampa Cave / Re: Christmas Morning 1978

I was only 2 years old in '78, so I don't really remember if I got anything Star Wars related. For me, 1980 was the big deal.

I posted this a while back, but I used to study the 1980 Sears Christmas Wishbook.
I managed to acquire a copy recently and scanned most of the interesting toy pages:

Scout Report / Re: TRU figure prices increased

Anyone else actually kind of, I dunno, sad about this?
$10 is basically my limit on my disposable income purchases for this kind of thing. I didn't mind the 5POA figures when they first came out and cost ~$6, but $11 is just something I can't justify any more.
So, I'm sad. Sad because my lifelong hobby is now over. I've collected since I was 12, nearly 30 years ago but I think this is it. I used to buy one of everything, but that's steadily decreased over the years.
Wow. I'm just really starting to get depressed as I type this. I mean, a 40 year old man stopping buying toys shouldn't really be a big deal, but ... man.
I suppose I'll just be dumping more money in to NHL 16 on my PS4 now :(
