Online Shopping - Who's Got the Hot Items??? / Re: Updates
« on: April 07, 2018, 06:23:39 AM »
Don't give up hope - deal with the credit card company - scan & email them a copy of whatever printout they wrote on at the store. They should accept your declaration that you returned the item physically anyhow!

Awesome, thank you. I think I will be forced to grab 6" Tarkin for my OT Imperials shelf.

I found e-tailer that has vintage 3.75 wave one in stock as well as the remains of the Solo-era 6" stuff (TARKIN!!!). Do we have an idea as to when the shelf date is supposed to be for these? Just before Solo? I want to see the first wave on the shelf so I know the clock is ticking for figures I actually want for my collection.  :speechless-smiley-004:

Awesome. Now all they need to do is make sure everything gets delivered properly (ie by gentle & caring delivery persons, not blacksmiths) & ON TIME so there's no major backlash against them for the next one.

I have an admission to make - I've never gone through these until now. I must say, I have been very pleasantly surprised so far, although I'm only half-way done the ESB adaptation.

There are many ways to read these now - I had purchased & saved the Dark Horse "A Long Time Ago...." omnibus editions of them around the time they went out of print, so that was affordable. Marvel has started re-printing them for themselves again in both (expensive) hardcover omnibus format (very nice, oversized pages) and their more reasonable EPIC COLLECTION line of full-colour softcovers.

Marvel's online comic reading service may be a good bet (I would think if you paid for a 1 month subscription you'd have a good chance to get through most of it).

All in all, they are much closer to how I think the story could have gone than pretty much anything else I've read over the years. I was expecting crappy comics & characterization but have gotten the opposite - they had the tone of the characters down pat.

Some of the art is a bit sketchy to say the least, but I find it easy to substitute the characters from my mind's eye into the situations provided by the comics. All in all, well worth the time it would take to check them out if you can find an affordable way to do it.

That's good. I don't begrudge any awesome bonuses to those who backed the barge, but I do wants me that Klaatu!

We still need a re-made Klaatu Skiff guard card - hopefully they'll make it available to the masses......  :speechless-smiley-004:

Curious as to where the Klaatu rumour started - hopefully there isn't a backlash if they DON'T include one!

Thanks, I might have to hope for a 2 for 1 so I can grab both sets & try to offset costs by dumping the vehicles.

I didn't know these vehicles had been released - both figures look pretty desirable to me. Any sightings of these in Canada or are we stuck looking at US sources?

It's either got to be an all-new OT figure for me OR be packaged on a cardback I still want for my re-made vintage collection. Preferably both.

I would agree with the suggestion that people seeing the barge in "real life" could have a real effect on their interest in purchasing one. I also think there's a chance to make some money on these - but the risk is very very real. It's essentially the cost of 5 BMFs.

Well I watched most of the deleted scenes first & have to say there were 2 I thought added some needed context, both involving Finn. First when he's telling Poe he didn't join the army, then the resolution of that when he tells Rose they're going back to where "they" belong, meaning (to me, anyhow) that he's finally committed to The Resistance. The rest were appropriately left on the cutting room floor.

Crossing the 4k barrier will be break a mental barrier for some folks hopefully - I wonder if there are some who aren't bothering because they don't think it has a chance? Hopefully it picks up here.

Still very interesting to me to see a "snapshot" of exactly where the hobby is these days, in terms of hard core, completist collectors. I know there are others who don't buy everything that are all-in here as well, but everyone who invests is willing to go the wall for 3.75" Star Wars. 5000 isn't a huge number of people.
