Scout Report / Re:Good Gold Card (and more) Scores Down In Michigan
« on: December 09, 2003, 02:54:13 AM »
"Impressive.............. most impressive."  8)

I've had good luck in Michigan (mainly Ann Arbour). The Target there provided me with my B Wing and numerous figures.

Wampa Cave / Re:Best figure of 2003?

I love Han Hoth, Coleman Trebor, Padme Droid Factory, Tyranus Geo Conflict, 2003 Tusken Raider and the Super Articulated Trooper. The Imperial Dignitary and Obi Wan nightclub are supposed to be fantastic as well, but I don't have them yet.

Wampa Cave / Re:Top Rare Figures

The Freeze Frame Weequay, Sandtrooper and Boba Fett were all much more common up here than they were down south. People pay an awful lot for those on US cards, but nearly so much for Trilogo.

Sacul and Toy Fair Vader go without saying.

Ephant Mon was tough based on demand alone, but I would guess the numbers produced were down due to the huge size and cost of making him.

From my own experience, I never had problems finding any basic figures up here until the last of Freeze Frame. In London, I don't think we ever saw at retail Zuckuss, Ishi Tib, Piett, Ree Yees or Vader with the Removable Helmet. This figures are all so awesome, I wound up paying small fortunes for them on ebay long after the fact. The 9 Expanded Universe figures didn't land near me either.

The Imperial Scanning Crew Trooper, packed in with the later editions of the Millenium Falcon carrying case were hard to find, and may have never come to Canadian retail. Rare to me.

Then you have all of those "Long Tray, Short Saber" variants that I can't keep straight from 1995, and the Boba Fett with full and half cirlces on his hands, the special theatre edition of Jedi Luke, the Jedi Luke with the Brown Vest under the black robe, etc., etc., etc.

The list is as long as you'd like.

There are also 2 different tauntauns in these sets - one with a broken left horn (a la Luke's) and one who's left horn is complete (Solo's). Since Luke's in the box, the broken horned one makes sense - but in the movie it's Han's that gets gutted. Hasbro should have planned out that set better, and packed the newer Saga Han Hoth with it instead of that ancient POTF2 Luke.

Jedi Archives / Re:Jedi Master Points

Are the foreign points different? (I guess those would be the domestic points to us!) I have every intention of bidding if I find something on there I want. If I win, I'll be using my points and my brother's address in Cleveland. I can't see there being a problem.

Star Wars Trivia / Re:AT-AT walker

1 point question: what does AT-AT stand for?

Where can you find Cliff Clavin from Cheers in ESB?

That's all I got. Good luck.

Star Wars Trivia / Re:who's this?

You are correct, sir! Yarna D'al Gargan is the answer. The guy at the table behind her (shudder at THAT thought - a view NOT worth the price of admission) is unknown to me.

I'm out of ideas, but I'll browse around some pics and see what else I can come up with.

Star Wars Trivia / Re:who's this?

The answer to the last one is PABLO JILL (no, Im not kidding).

This next one ought to get everyone all hot and bothered.......

Who's this?

And I don't mean the Jawa. Tell me we don't need a figure of this foxy lady..........

Sports / Re:what 'new' sports figure you want to see?
« on: December 07, 2003, 03:26:39 AM »
I wonder if the Cujo figure will come in his AHL jersey, or possibly a variant packed with a "will work for food" sign instead of a goalie stick.......  :D (I did notice that they've changed the run, nhl 7 will now include Hasek as opposed to Cujo according to the McFarlane site - the pic shows him in a red jersey).

On topic, I'd love to see McFarlane get the licenses to make the players in college jerseys. I would just love to have Charles Woodson and Anthony Thomas in Blue and Maize squared off against Urlacher and Joey Harrington in Scarlett and Silver.

I finally saw them today at my WM. One Avs Roy in a veritable sea of Lemieux figures. Amazing detail.

I think Roper was pretending to box in a homosexual style (if that's possible) with that stupid grin on his face....... damn, I miss that show. My mother commented on missing it too the other day, totally out of the blue.

Non-Star Wars Toys / Re:Superstore flyer
« on: December 07, 2003, 02:15:44 AM »
Im from Ontario, Kitchener, and now live out west. I never saw a Superstore either until I lived in Regina. I have noticed that the Superstore chain carries President's choice products so they are somehow linked with Loblaws. The newest Loblaw's in London had tons of stuff beside groceries (which surprised me last May when I was home) - ask around and find out where the newest and biggest one is in KW, Im sure they'll have most of the same stuff.

Superstore is awesome.

Wrong thread again, but it was the closest thing I could find. I found a black Rich Gannon today at Superstore, and picked him up (honestly not knowing if he was the variant or not - the pkg shows a white jersey).

I have no need to keep him, so if someone here needs it feel free to let me know. If he's not variant, I can take him back.

Thanks.......back to your regularly scheduled programming!

I loved that scene, too bad there's NOTHING you can do with that figure other than display it as per the package. The one I had the hardest time putting down was Real Neo with the 3 heads. Man that's sweet.
