Scout Report / Re: Post Retail Finds of NEW PRODUCT Here!

I saw them all in Orlando. The etching backdrop and figure of Leia was the only one I liked. I only hope these are successful enough that the droids get made in metal.

Ummmmm a $30 figure and some cardboard?  I can't imagine many biting at $75CDN!?!?

Pics I've seen are English only packaging.

Wampa Cave / Re: time for another diorama contest?

I agree. I have a few ideas kicking around, and only so much room. I'd prefer a diorama of my choosing. It would also be more of an incentive to finish!?  I'll throw my hat in depending on the rules. Who is supplying/donating the prizes?

The Prequels are stylistically like the Guilded Age (early 1900s). The Original Trilogy harkens back to the old Hollywood Serials of the 40's and 50's.  Add thirty years, and what do you get?  The 70's and 80's. TRON is not that far off style wise. I think it's brilliant.

WTF?!?!  These have barely made it to regular retail in Canada, and they are already at a discounter outlet?

Many idiots think a Star Wars logo means $$$$$. Check out SW garbage on Craigslist. Some idiots sell, some buy. You only need to sell one per month at these ridiculous prices, instead of a couple a day.  That's his business model, we will see how it works for him.

Star Wars Movies & TV shows / Re: Eps 7 rumored title...
« on: May 08, 2014, 12:25:36 PM »
The titles to all these movies have always been silly. When I was 14, and first heard "The Empire Strikes Back", I thought it sounded childish. And don't get me started on "The Phantom Menace", the stupidest title of the lot IMO.

Even if "Ancient Fear" really is the title (Blue Harvest anyone?) it inspires the same tone any of the other titles has.

I just got a full refund for the five I ordered. SUCKS!!!  Obviously they were overwhelmed, and their site took too many orders they couldn't fill. UGH!!!

Sometimes the pleasures of certain figures are short lived anyway. I got the Obi Wan and Qui Gon, and love the light up feature. Will get the Darth when I see him as well. I'm sure to get at least a year or two of light up pleasure out of him. I just wish the light stayed on for a little bit, after letting go of the button.

I'm still seeing "new" product like the ROTJ wave, with the Rocket Firing Fett. Ridiculous.

I saw several boxes of the Movie Heroes and Vintage Ep 1. figures and vehicles on the floor of ToysRUs in Vancouver.  I was thrilled, until the stock boy put them back on his cart, to take them to the back.  He did not want to get him in trouble due to the "shelf date".  I showed him on my smart phone, that the embargo had been lifted, but he was afraid for his job.

I hate HASBRO sometimes.  OK, most times.  Ok, Ok, ALL the times I can not find figures I want, which is 99% of the year!

Still haven't seen the Han Bespin or Ponda Baba Wave, and now the movie heroes line.  UGH!  I hate Hasbro's crappy distribution!!!

Brick and Mortar Retail is dying a slow, painful death. Luckily for Star Wars Action Figure collectors who like retail, these toys are carried at some of the more successful 'real' retailers, who will be around for a while. I would prefer to be able to walk into any department store, and be able purchase whatever new figure is out, and be able to pick the one with the best paint job. HAH!  That has rarely happened since the early 80's. I'm lucky to get whatever slim pickin's are on the pegs, let alone even finding popular figures.

Online retail, for all its impersonal flaws and delayed gratification, is by far a superior retail experience these days.  You can find almost EVERYTHING you desire, and often from only one or two stores. And the cost of shipping vs gasoline is not too far apart these days. Much better than the frustration of Canadian retail desolation.

I thought this wave:

Han Solo
(Bespin Outfit)
Barriss Offee
(Jedi Padawan)
Fleet Trooper
Bom Vimdin
(Cantina Patron)
ARC Trooper Commander
(Captain Fordo)
(Ewok Medicine Man)

was supposed to be next.  It would be another Hasbro Canada travesty, if we miss it, and move on to the Ponda Baba wave, which has only three new figures.
