Wampa Cave / Re: Good price on sw blu ray
« on: September 14, 2011, 11:31:54 PM »
Missed the cheap blu ray deal from best buy. $80 minus 15%? Crap, I'd have jumped on that even without a player yet. :( Guess that's what happens when you go away for a week with sporadic internet connections. :(

Here's hoping costco will have it cheaper than the $80 that seems to be the going rate. I still think $80 is expensive for 3 movies and the extras.

So in summary, are there ANY exclusive offers in Canada for the blu ray set? In the US there the cel from best buy and a poster from walmart, neither of which inspires excitement, but if there's a freebie it might be worth checking out.

Well, six movies and the extras, but I'm guessing you are not including the Prequels in your count!? :winking0071: :winking0071:

What 2011 waves will we be getting in Canada, and what waves will we not be getting from Hasbro Canada?

Thanks napseeker, and Mit_Othy!  I finally have a bit of time, and hope to get in some customized figures for Dagobah, and a few tweeks to the dio.  Will post pics when that happens, of course!

Eh, works for me.  I don't really want to fight the Christmas shopping rush to find toys.  Better that they come out in January when the stores are barren.

That's a great point.  Perhaps there is hope yet that the shelves won't be stripped bare of the ROTJ wave....which would certainly happen before Xmas!

Scout Report / Re: AT-AT @ Retail in Canada?

The Vintage AT-AT is available now at Toys'R'  Since it is over $100, it qualifies for free shipping.  We'll see how banged up the box is, but I'm more interested in getting the "English Version" (ie, the one with the spoken phrases, not available for shipping to Quebec.) than the box.

I'm glad now I have yet to see/buy one of these in Canada.  NOT interested in another inferior Hasbro Canada product, ruined once again by Quebec's ridiculous laws.  Multi-lingual packaging is one thing, but changing the product itself takes Bill 101 to a farcical level.  If the Vintage packaged AT-AT is also inferior, a trip south of the border will be in order for me.

I would like to know if we will be getting the Attack and Defense of Hoth Battlepacks....exclusive to Target in the US.

Wow DroidWorld, that looks awesome! How long did it take you to complete it?

Thanks Mit_Othy!  Well I first painted the backdrop at the beginning of April, but did Endor (below Dagobah) first.  I started into Dagobah around mid-June, and still have little tweaks to do.  So about four weekends of actual work?

Wow. Well you certainly missed out on getting this one into the diorama contest we had a while ago.

Awesome work.

Thanks Hellboy!  Perhaps when I am finally finished tweaking it, and adding new as well as custom figures etc, another contest will be two years!!!

Customs / Dagobah Diorama
« on: July 14, 2010, 11:27:27 AM »
Hey Snowtroopers!!!  It has been a while!  Here's my most recent diorama is Dagobah.  This time, in a closet in the basement of our new (old) house...

If you have a sharp eye, you noticed that the scene in the middle of the diorama in the first couple of pictures is different.  In the past, any representation of Dagobah I did, had multiple Lukes, R2s and Yodas.

This time I went with a turntable, so only one scene is visible at any given time:

I also sculpey-ted a couple of bog-wings, to fly over the swamp:

And here as a custom figure I customized for the dio:  Magic Tree Yoda

And yes, his upper body is still removable:

A movie illustrating how Magic Tree Yoda's upper half, gets switched up from the log into the turntable portion of the diorama is here:

Here are some pics of Yoda's Hut.  (Can't wait for the new Luke Bespin!)

I have several custom figures, avatars, cardbacks, stickers and of course, dioramas, at:

Thanks for looking, your questions, comments or otherwise are always welcome.

Scout Report / Re: Eopie/QuiGon arrived
« on: June 11, 2010, 09:17:52 PM »
I ordered three last year, and two more this year.  All five just arrived!  Nicer than I expected and not as green looking as in pics I've seen.  Still a bit green though.

If they can't afford their rent, or know anything about marketing, they will be out of business soon enough...

Yay!  4 premium tix to go in Vancouver!  Can't wait!  Since I can't remember, I've always wanted to hear a live symphony orchestra play this iconic music!!!

I think it is coming to Canada, but will we see it for the two days it is on the shelf?  Who knows!?!?!

Wampa Cave / Re: Just sent away for QUi Gon and eopie.

I sent away for these a LOOOOOOOOONG time ago.  I'm in Canada, but paid with a $US money order.  I'm hoping that wasn't a mistake, as I still haven't received it.
