Ages Three and Up has it on sale for $17.99, but only a limited supply will be at that price.  It might be regular price again now.

Wampa Cave / Re:arrghh Ebay auction that made me cry

Oh, and I have actually negotiated with a seller after the auction because I didn't have time to email them cause I noticed it too late.  Most are quite nice if you point out to them that the price they are charging is ridiculous and that shipping to Canada is not 3 times the cost to ship within US.

I've lost tones of action by seconds but the worst ones just happen latly.  I won 3 different action 3 weeks ago.  One was a blue guard I won it for $7 but then he charged me $19 for shipping then I won two clone wars clone trooper 3 packs at $25 each that I was happy about but then they charge me $25 for shipping each and all prices in us man I was pissed but oh well I guess.

That's why if they don't state a shipping price up front for Canadian shipping, I always will ask first to ensure they don't do something like that.  And also, if they give me a ridiculous shipping quote, I tell them I'll be willing to pay it up front as long as I get it in writing that they will refund me the overcharge.  One seller actually gave me back $6 without me even asking because she charged too much.  I was very pleasantly surprised, but some sellers will give you a ridiculous shipping price to Canada if you don't ask up front and get it for a good deal, cause that's how they end up making more and they are more than happy to ship it to you because they can basically charge anything cause you didn't ask.

The Toys - Snowtrooper Reviews! / Re:ROTS #41 CloneTrooper

just curious ... what do you mean by the fact that you got #6 cheap? (wholesale price?)... thanks.

Actually, I can't remember what I meant.  I think relative to the #41, this one would be cheaper because it can be found at retail and the #41 is harder to find at retail so people end up paying more to get them on Ebay, but I can't quite remember.

Yeah, it does look up...I didn't realize that until one day I went to customize it (wanted to remove head) and realized that it can look up as well.

I'm eagerly awaiting the Anakin's from the Evolutions set.  I think those would be the best Anakin's.

Scout Report / Re:Tank Gunners ?
« on: June 09, 2005, 01:08:25 PM »
I was lucky, I got 5 AT-TE Gunners in one lot with 4 SA Clones and 2 Blue Guards and it came to $10.50 CDN each after shipping.  That's like getting them at cost here since TRU sells them for $9.99.  The best part was I didn't get any customs charges either.  The cool thing is that since they are so much cheaper in the US, you can get figures on Ebay for $7.99 US (using best offer option when available) which is almost like getting it at cost up here and the seller still makes money.  The best way to do it is look for lots of figures...that's how I found this lot.  I ended up getting three more SA Clone Troopers that way.  They were $7.50US each, so yes, it is kinda like scalping from the sellers standpoint, but for me, even though they are scalping, it's still like getting it at cost for me up here.  I wouldn't pay more than that for any figure though.

Wampa Cave / Re:Out of the new trilogy, which had the best toys?

I agree that the ROTS figures are cool too.  I really wish though that we will get an ultimate Jango Fett (ie.  like the first AOTC one with removable helmet but without the rope/claw and not pre-posed)

Do the falcon.  I want to see a proper cockpit that adjoins to the rear cabin.  I always had troubles playing with the falcon as a kid.  I wanted to rip out all the cardboard walls and plastic to make it happen, but it just wasn't meant to be.

I did take out the cardboard...and I also cut up the seat to try to make it work, but it just was too small.

Wampa Cave / Re:How much are those clones in the window?

Yeah, and by the time he receives it, he might have been able to get it at his local Toys R Us.   I can imagine people wanting to pay a lot if he had it in hand, but he even states that it's a presell, so he's basically saying that you'll get it when everyone else can too....

Yeah...I missed out on it too.  I had preordered them before and didn't have the money to order another set.  I don't doubt that these sets will have problems selling, and I do appreciate the good will...I have nothing but good things to say about Matt.  I was just making those comments based on a business standpoint, but then again, it could be the same argument about Walmart selling some things below cost as I'll just leave it at that... :)  BTW, if anyone hasn't had a chance to see Matt's display at his store, it's well worth the trip to see's really awesome...even his G.I.Joe ones are cool too.

I recently offered every BC Snowtrooper the Entertainment Earth Clone set of all four for a sweet $100.00. This really upset all the stores in my area that scalp.
I encourage all fellow toy store and comic book owners to treat your customers (the guys keeping you employed) with the respect they deserve.

Good luck everybody.  >:(

Matt's at Toy Traders has been really good to me and really helped me with my G.I.Joe collection, but sadly I had to sell most of the stuff because of financial problems.  He's one of those guys that really supports keeping stuff local for us.  However, (I'm not complaining, just stating a fact), a case of Clones still brings a set to $100US.  I think by selling it at $100CDN, it's kinda underselling which is also bad because some of the smaller collector stores who don't sell things for scalper prices either can't compete if you sell things like this below cost.  Even buying them directly from EE was more expensive than $100CDN for a set.  As a collector, I'm really happy that someone is willing to give us stuff at such good price, but at the same time, is it fair to undersell everyone else who is trying to make a decent living selling new stuff at suggested retail price?  Just my thoughts on this situation.  Hope I didn't burn any bridges...haha... :)

Wampa Cave / Re:The next dozen....Any ideas?

pilot anakin is coming out with the new green jedi starfighter.  as for new figs.  hmmmmmmmm, the younger versions of owen and beru would be a nice touch, the queen of alderan, and of course we have to have the token jar jar binks  ::)  NOT!!!
I think some of the jedi that are seen in the clone war cartoon would be kewl (hammerhead and the other furry thing from the bar scene in ANH).  I guess just the dif paint scemes for the clone troops and droid troops would be about it.  Any other ideas?

Pilot Anakin is just a #2 Anakin with the headset piece from the Clone Wars version.

I would like to see a SA Mace Windu.  The Evolutions Palpatine will be super articulated so I don't see them doing another one.

If it weren't for this review, I wouldn't even have known that the head could move.  Mine is the black ball joint version and I think that might be the earlier one and when Hasbro realized that the heads were getting stuck like that, they went back to the non painted one.  The main thing I hate about the figure is that it doesn't have holes in his feet.  I was gonna display him in my Assault Gunship just about to leap out and then realized he had no holes in his feet for the pegs.
