The Toys - Snowtrooper Reviews! / Re:ROTS #41 CloneTrooper
« on: May 27, 2005, 11:44:08 AM »
I have about 10 of the #6 Clone Troopers...but that's cause I was able to get them cheap and was actually able to find them.  I doubt I'll find too many of the #41 and the #6, as someone already mentioned, look good enough for me in a diorama or vehicle.  However, I did manage to get 4 #41s on Ebay for $10 Canadian each shipping included, and 5 AT-TE gunners at the same price.  If I see the SA Clone Trooper, I will buy them, but I have the other ones just in case I can't get too many of the SA ones.  That's probably why most people would have like 20 of the first EP III Clones.

Mon Mothma was in the movie...she's in a wide angle shot when Anakin gets off the cruiser after rescuing Palpatine at the beginning.

I think GL missed and opportunity to explain why stormtroopers are not clones in the OT. (Sure, one could argue that they are clones but then why didn't GL modify the stormtrooper voices as he did Boba's to reflect Jango's voice in the new DVD's?) Why would the Empire cease to utilize clone armies when they are indeed so loyal and follow orders so promptly. The clones are perfect and have good aim! The only thing i can think of is that the clonetroopers are fairly expensive to produce. I suppose that since the Galactic Empire is formed following Ep3 they can land on any planet and basically capture any man and make them a trooper....cost: $0.

Maybe Goerge will go back eventually and make all the stormtroopers digital to eliminate all the different body shapes/sizes and pigeon-toed dorktroopers. (please no George, the cgi clonetroopers look terrible!)

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

This was explained in one of the Visual guides for Ep III.  The clones had accelerated growth so by the time the Clone Wars ended, they were starting to get old and could not do active duty.  Most of them went and became mechanics or maintenance workers for the Empire.  I think it was cheaper to recruit people than to create a new Clone Army.  Can't remember exactly what it said, but if you find it in a bookstore, go read up on the part where they show the different clone troopers.  It's the Visual Guide with the red Clone Trooper on the cover.

Wampa Cave / Re:Millenium Falcon in ROTS

Isn't the Mellinum Falcon just a Corellian freighter or something.  There are lots of these ships that look just like the Falcon so it's not necessarily the Mellinum Falcon you saw.  Or, it was the Milleninum Falcon being piloted by it's original owner before Lando got it.

Oh, and sometimes I am waaay off in my shipping quotes, but I'm usually quite close and at times I underestimate them too and end up taking a loss.  Just be careful when bidding though cause lots of sellers I find tend to think that because we live in Canada, shipping costs should be double.  I've actually found out that it's actually cheaper to ship to the US than it is to ship within Canada.

« on: May 12, 2005, 04:56:45 PM »
If it is stated on the auction that the person was going to charge you a certain amount for shipping and you bid on the auction anyways, then you had agreed to that amount for shipping.  If it wasn't stated in the auction and the person tells you after, then you can have a case.  I always state up front what I am charging for shipping.  If I should find that I was waaaay off (ie. $5 or more over, then I will refund the extra to the buyer).  But like I said, if they said outright that it was $7 for shipping, then you agreed to it.  Many sellers though, if you ask them nicely and don't just give negative feedback right away, you can usually solve the problem.  One time I won an auction and shipping was stated as $6 for US and I bid on it thinking it would be around $10 max to ship to Canada.  When the seller came back saying that it was $18, I told her that was too high, but I will pay that and if it is significantly less to ship, I would appreciate the balance refunded.  She gave me back $10 after she shipped it.  Now if she had stated in her auction that she was going to charge, $18 for shipping and I bid anyways, then I can ask, but there wouldn't be much I can do if she refused.

sssoooo why do people think quigon is kinda in on the sith because of dooku's training

...sorry if this is off topic

No one said that QuiGon is in on the sith.  He's teaching Yoda how to be one with the force after they die or something like that.

The Toys - Snowtrooper Reviews! / Re:BARC Speeder
« on: April 21, 2005, 05:03:38 AM »
You can reposition the lasers so they both point at the same height.  At least mine could.  I got my BARC speeders for $9.99 at Sears even though the price tag on them said $19.99.

Collection 1 with action feature had no stands.  Collection 2 which don't have action features has stands.

Wampa Cave / Interactive Lightsaber game

Did anyone get that lightsaber game that you hook up to your TV?  It looks cool but I'm hoping it goes on clearance before I get it.  If anyone has it, any reviews?

Wampa Cave / Re:American Packaging
« on: April 07, 2005, 04:34:12 PM »
I've always liked US packaging better.  We Canadians get shafted quite often.  I also collect G.I.Joes and up here, we don't even get the comic included with the figures.  Back in the 80's, the figures' filecards had less info on the Canadian cards due to the French writing.  If I was a MOC collector, I would prefer them all on US cards, but I would get an army builder like a Clone Trooper on a Canadian card to have both versions.  So basically, I would get one figure I particularly like for each different Canadian cardback to go with the US cardbacks.

Jar Jar IS important!  He started the clone wars by voting in specials rights for Palpatine or something like that.  Mesa thinks.
