I was in TRU the other day talking with the Hasbro representative and TRU staff.   The one thing I did notice is there were a lot of staff on the floor and the store was completely dead in terms of customers in the store.

I hope a plan comes together to save TRU Canada.

jjreason, I did not mind this one.  I thought it is being way over hyped in the media. But with that said Black Panther and Wonder Woman are important movies in the sense that hopefully with their financial success we will get more movies from Hollywood that have leading actors/actresses and casts that are more representative of everyone in our society.

I think my son liked Thor for the same reasons.  He was out with a lot of friends and they had a great night together and Thor was part of that.   I too really like the first Guardian of the Galaxy and would probably put it as number one on my Marvel List.  DC of course beats everything Marvel. Hell a TV episode of Gotham beats every movie Marvel has ever done. (little jab at jjreason here):)

Now the movie we need made is DC vs Marvel super heros.  We all know how it would end of course with DC winning every round and match up. But it would be nice just to see Superman knocking Thor and Hulks heads together as he writes an article for the newspaper at the same time. :)

Well my daughter and I just watched it.  She has never seen it and this is my second viewing.

I said nothing to my daughter about my feelings about the movie.

Her review " biggest piece of trash " She said they were never true to the character of Thor and the jokes were boring.  She is 17 and in the past has liked the Marvel movies.

My review has unfortunately not change.   It is on par with Guardians of the Galaxy part 2 - both for me were a waste of time and money.

With that said - my son who is 15 loved the Thor Movie.  My wife did not like the Thor movie.

I will have to watch this one again.  I saw it in the theatre and really did not like it at all.  I found everything including the humour just the same old marvel stuff that has just left me bored of anything Marvel.  I wish I did not feel this way but I honestly do not get excited when a Marvel movie is released.

Not sure how many it went down by, but it could be Canadian's who ordered it to be shipped to the states but then order it for direct shipment to Canada and then cancelled their old orders.

I'm at the point in my life, finally, that money isn't the first & foremost issue with this item. There just isn't any way I could ever enjoy it. No room to have it open, certainly no room (or interest) in leaving it boxed.

To me it's like the modern version of the GI Joe aircraft carrier - way better to have it at a friend's house to play with, but not have to deal with figuring out where to put it or how to keep it safe yourself.  :rollfloorlaffsmiley:

The perfect Just In Case Scenario.

I need to buy another one, Just In Case, jjreason comes over to my house and rethinks his decision not to buy one.

I would think, at most we would be 10% of America say about 200 units. So the uptick would be small.   I think if we took a poll on this site the numbers would not be that high .   But if they could open this up to the whole world with shipping included and they just have to pay the tax, just like they did for Canada, I think they could make a bigger dent in their numbers.

Not so sure they will make it unless they open it up to the rest of the world.   They still have not reached 50% yet.   Certainly hoping they do.

If you buy this in Canada you will pay $500 US plus your provincial tax. Here in Ontario it is 13%.

This is a good deal for Canadians.

If you ship it to a US state address you will pay the state tax, plus the provincial tax and plus your cost for going to pick it up.  This way you avoid the states tax and cost and hassle of picking it up.

And if there is any problem with your order.  Hasbro is on the hook for shipping it back to themselves and shipping a replacement to you.   This is very valuable to me.  Hasbro does not have the best reputation when it comes to shipping things in mint condition.  And at these prices we should all expect mint condition.

Based on watching Amazon's tactics over the last few years.  I highly suggest you purchase your goods when possible from the Retail Chains through price matching policies etc. .  Amazon is not your friend in the long run.  I often see them drop a price but the only reason is they have seen Walmart or TRU drop a price and they have matched it. As soon as the prices rises at the retail store - Amazon jacks their price back up. In recent shipments I can see that Amazon is caring less about the product going to the box or how they ship it.   Support your local stores if you want the magic of the 80's to continue.

Are Toy manufacturers distribution channels shrinking, expanding or staying the same?   You would think when a store that is dedicated to selling toys and baby stuff is having significant problems there is a chance that there could be broader industry problems.  My belief is the manufactures have significantly contributed to the toy industry becoming as weak as it has.   The marketers and product development teams have continued to focus on price points that yield a weaker and weaker market.  The quality is becoming so poor that, the only product still worth purchasing is LEGO.  And LEGO has proven consumers are willing to pay high prices for products that deliver value.  You may get a child to watch your ad and want your toy once and get a parent or relative to buy it once, but when you deliver a product that is poor on quality and play value, no one wants your products any more.  Just buy the kid LEGO, they are always happy with it and can build and do more things with it.   I know the first thing that will be said is VIDEO GAMES are the problem. If VIDEO GAMES are the problem why is LEGO doing so well? The answer is they have become a trusted brand and product that parent are willing to purchase for their children.
