Star Wars Art / Randy Walker commissioned art
« on: December 09, 2014, 03:14:07 PM »
Not my handiwork but I just recently had the artist Randy Walker do one of his very unique interpretations of the vintage SW carded figures for one of my treasured finds as a kid "Snaggletooth"! I asked him to put the k-mart sticker on it since I bought mine at a local Kresge's which used the K-mart stickers. Turn around on the commission was super fast and ended up $25 US shipped. Done with what appears to be a mix of ink and watercolours on card stock. I'm going to frame it because it seems like I could wreck it easily but I totally love it. I'm thinking of getting at least a C-3PO after xmas, maybe a few more. Enjoy and PM me if you want any more info on how to get in touch with him (I found him through a story on him in their news section a few weeks ago.

Did anyone go hunting for the exclusive at Target and if so did they find it with the ape figure?

The Black Series (2013-2018) / Future of the 3.75 line
« on: November 20, 2014, 09:01:05 AM »
Last night I did a bit of a toy run and found some of the OT figures I thought I'd be excited about on the pegs and but found they felt like rehashes probably for the first time in a long time. And I had the thought: after Ep VII we're probably going to see a lot less if not zero OT figures ever. My guess is once the Disney machine ramps up and people are focused on the new films, the new heroes, the OT rehash figures are going to get even less popular with older collectors let alone kids. I just can't see how they will compete with all the NEWNESS coming. Especially if the films are any good and I don't mean good in that they click with the OT-raised generation but they entertain and wow the kids in a way the PT probably didn't quite do for that generation (not that it didn't create a lot of new fans). But the stories from here on out, unless they really do end up making a origins of Kenobi/Yoda/Han/Boba films, will create stories and a plot line that we don't know the ending of. The PT lead the audience back to the OT. This one is branching out into unknown territory (not even the EU's post-OT can predict it). So are these the last days where we can expect anything more than a smattering of OT offerings?

I guess if Disney does manage to release an HD version of the OOT they could use that hype to continue offering PT/OT figures for a while so maybe the complete die off of OT figures won't happen for 5-10 years...

Looking for a good condition and hopefully complete (though no coin necessary) Luke Battle Poncho vintage figure. Anyone have one they are looking to sell or trade for?

Would also be interested in a Warok, Han in Carbonite, Artoo with pop up saber and General Lando but they are not a priority for the moment but let me know if you have them for sale/trade! I might bite!

Also am hunting for the following:

Luke Jedi Knight
Chewbacca x 2 (with or without accessories)
Darth Vader x 2
R2-D2 x2
Kenobi (weapon/cape not required)
Boba Fett

I'm looking for several novels based around the Dungeons and Dragons Forgotten Realms. I'm open to hearing what anyone has but I'm particularly looking for the Paul Kemp Erevis Cale books, the Ring of Winter by James Lowder and some of the earlier Drizzt novels by R.A. Salvatore. But again, lmk what you have! PM please! Condition isn't a big deal, just want to read them!

I found this weird little fanzine when digging around my older stuff. It's a Doctor Who fanzine from what I think was a club based out of Hamilton??? It's called "Enlightenment" Issue no 9 1985. I'd pretty much give it away especially if it meant something to someone on these boards! Or I'd include it free with any order! Reduced the price on the Dune figures. Will be posting some SW modern soon (loose various and carded TVC)

(pictures to come for Star Trek and Firefly)

Star Trek Reaction - all regular release figures (Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Sulu, Uhura, Gorn and Vina)
Loose Series 1 and 2 (8 figures)

Firefly Reaction CARDED set (includes Jayne tuque version and Mal trench coat - as well as regular release of both - 7 figures total)

Dune vintage set of four

Dune LNJ vintage figures:
Stilgar (almost complete, missing hook) -$35
Feyd (complete) -$40
Paul (complete) -$40
Rabban (complete) -$35
All for $125

Non-Star Wars Toys / Guardians of the Galaxy
« on: July 08, 2014, 10:24:51 AM »
Spotted some of the movie Guardians of the Galaxy stuff at a Target a few days ago. I kind of liked the little mini figures but thought that for $9 they seemed steep, the ships that I think they fit into were like $40! Ouch. Many of the various sized figures seemed to have odd articulation and play features too.

Wampa Cave / Maybe this leads to Chewbacca's cottage?
« on: October 26, 2013, 05:59:23 PM »
I've seen this road sign since probably the time ANH came out (in the near north of Ontario) but finally thought of taking a picture of it this past week while visiting the area. Not the correct spelling I know, but I still find it kind of SW related all the same!

Just got the email, $2300 with free shipping in the US. Would be funny to get him delivered to someone in the US and then try to drive back across the border with him in the front seat!

Wampa Cave / Wave 4 Kithaba etc
« on: August 09, 2012, 09:05:20 AM »
Has it already been determined if this wave will be coming to Canada or not? I mean as a regular release and not a possible Winners/Homesense thing? I'm curious if we can expect a red-bandana Kithaba to be readily available or not. Someone told me he was going to be the less rare one???
