Walmart Reset
« on: February 12, 2015, 09:05:14 PM »

The local Walmart is resetting the toy aisles and had a SW planogram up. Retained are 3.75" Rebels/Saga Legends, Mission Series and Black Series (3 pegs each), Command and 12" basic figures. There was space allocated for Hot Wheels Starships both singles - 5.97 and 2-packs - 11.97. There was also space for something labeled 3.75" Electronic - 29.97 which I am uncertain what it is.

Notably absent - 6" Black Series and vehicles.

The Lego aisle was also being reset and they had some of the 2015 Lego in including their exclusive 75087 Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter - 49.86.

YMMV

It might refer to the lightsaber.  Price point is about right.

I probably would have agreed with you had my original description been correct but I got it wrong. I should have taken some pictures :D. Upon re-checking, the planogram and shelf tag actually read 3.75" Digital and the price is 29.92 which is different than the 29.96 being charged for the electronic lightsabers which have an assigned peg. Whatever it is comes in a case of 6.

I'm guessing that the 3.75 Digital item is these sets of repacked figures:http://www.rebelscum.com/2015/High-Resolution-Hasbro-Digital-four-packs/ If so, the price point seems high for a set of 4 Saga Legends figures.

Has to be. Nice job putting the clues together, I hadn't see the RS link to these upcoming sets.  :u:

I'm dying to know what these digital releases will be! Which version??? I'm getting my hopes up but I kind of imagine they will be the last blu-ray releases but on iTunes this time!  :mad0218:

Found a case of the Digital 4-packs at the local Walmart in quadlingual slipcase packaging - 29.92.

EDIT: add lousy pic of ESB inner tray.

I saw these last week but, like previous DVD movie tie-in releases, these are overpriced and underwhelming. I couldn't see myself dropping $100 on the OT sets for sub-par figures and boring packaging.

Great place for a new collector to start, really. After getting these sets you'd be well on your way to having a nice modern 5POA collection anyhow.

One of the ROTJ sets I looked at for my kid was god awful. The paint apps were garbage on the scout trooper. Then I found the scout trooper/wicket two pack and it looked much better. Might have been just one bad apple set or it could be the level of quality on those sets in general.

Just representative of the overall QA on these new 5POA figures - it's VERY hit & miss paint-wise, and I'd say it clearly leans toward the miss. You really have to search for good paint jobs on these.

What annoys me about these figures beyond their lack of articulation is that Hasbro is even trying to cut costs by making them more slender/smaller than their typical SW figures i.e. use less plastic.  Looking at IG-88 and Bosssk, I was fine with the sculpting but they seem miniscule compared to not just their SA counterparts but also the earlier Saga 5POA versions.

This line is all about cheapness in just about every possible way.
