Well I crossed the border with a buddy yesterday in search of Saga 2 figures with the photo backdrop cards as well as any leftover ROTS figures.  :r2d2line:

As far as ROTS figures went, 0, zilch, nada!  :( Not a single one anywhere to be found. What a bummer.

I did manage to get a whole set of the Pit of Carkoon wave with the backdrops. And yes they are so much nicer than their canadian counterparts. :winking0071:

But the surprise of the trip was the finding of the Hoth wave! :party0053: Got all 8 of 'em. These guys are extremerly nice, especially Veers and the AT-AT driver. Derlin is OK, the Power Droid has enough do-dads added to it to classify it as a new figure, Vader is a repacked 500th figure, the Snowtrooper is a repacked saga 1 figure with battle damage on the helmet, Rieekan is repacked deluxe figure with a blaster and R2-D2 is a repacked VOTC with X-wing accessories :love0030:

Why the hell do WE not get the photo backdrops. They would actually get me to start collecting MOC!

I suggest a "class action" complaint email campaign to Hasbro.
Imagine if the majority of the 900+ Troopers on this list flooded their inbox with complaints?  :mad0177:

Hasbro should've just made the backdrops as inserts and that way, they could still print up the Canadian cards (with the requisite bilingual text) and insert the photo backgrounds in. Of course why do that when they probably know avid collectors will end up buying both the starburst and photo cards to be complete? Makes more financial sense to do it the way they are doing it right now... they sell more.

Hey mini-myte, I clicked on the link but the image was already gone for some reason...

Good Point. Damn fiscal common sense. I keep forgetting that they are trying to make as much $ as humanly possible, NOT satisfy us collectors :winking0071:

Just out of curiousity, what was the U.S. retail for these new figures?

Ok, I've put in a thumbnail instead of a link. Are you guys able to see the image now? Let me know if there is a problem. As for the US costs, they were $5.88 US at Wal-mart and $6.99 US at Target.

Post Other Finds of NEW PRODUCT Here! (Internet, US, Specialty Stores)
« Reply #11 on: February 19, 2006, 02:21:55 PM »

A new topic for the posting of finds of new stuff - either via internet, specialty shop or cross border shopping. Here's how I think they should looks:

EXAMPLE ONLY

All 8 Hoth Wave Saga2 Figures found at a Specialty Shop in Ontario! Please see Ontario forum for details!!!

And then in the Ontario forum you could get into where you found them specifically, what the price was, etc.

Hope that makes sense. I think breaking down the finds into "retail" and "other" categories will allow browsers to adequately find the info they're looking for.

Again, if you have input, please see the discussion under way in the Suggestions forum!

perfect timing.

I just came back from Niagara Falls and did some shopping at the Military Road outlet. I popped by Target, and they had the next set of Transformers. I was able to pick up Anakin and Darth Maul (no Fett's).

I also went to Walmart. They have the complete Hoth set (only $5.88/each US !!)  and a Titanium "vehicle set" which includes the "special" Milenium Falcon.

Just a heads up for anyone going to Niagara Falls in the near future...

Picked up the exclusive Wedge figure at a specialty store in Ontario.  Please see the Ontario forum for details.

They're COLLECTIBLES.  They don't become TOYS until you take them out of the package.

NO exclusives please - we're Canadian!
