Tips on how to deal with deadbeat traders.
« on: August 28, 2006, 07:07:21 PM »

I thought this thread might be a good way we can organize some ideas on how to deal with deadbeat traders.

I was thinking we could post little ideas or anecdotes that have worked in the past. i.e. don't say take him/her to court unless you actually went ahead an did it.

I am refering to things that have worked and will be good ideas for other troopers.

I'll start things off.

I had a problem with a big trade on another board. Basically it was one of these blockbuster style trades where we're both exchanging a lot of $$$ worth of goods.

This guy had positive feedback on the board in which I was posting as well as another board.

Everything was going well and I sent off my stuff. I never heard back and he stopped posting on the board. I couldn't reach him by email or PM.

The nice thing was, I had his address. After about 10min on the net I was able to get his hime phone number. I gave him a call and talked directly to him.

My item arrived shortly thereafter. It may have cost me a couple calls to Geogia, but it was worth the Kotobukiya Scout trooper.
