Hey Al,

I use both Firefox and Explorer regularly. I prefer Firefox.
Firefox loads fast and efficiently and is HIGHLY customizable. Never had any problems w/ locking/crashing either.
You can't go wrong w/ Mozilla in my opinion.

Hope this helps.....

I used Firefox for a better part of a year. With IE 7 being released, I have switched over to try it. I like the way they handle the tabs, as it seems to be inline with how I like to work with them. I will probably keep on using, unless there are compelling reasons to switch to something else.

I just installed Firefox a few days ago.  I like it so far and will keep using it over IE.  As mentioned, Firefox loads quicker and so far appears more stable.  Cheers

You can also use the Opera browser, it is another one to try.  It is a very fast browser, and also a very stable one.
My personal picks are:

1. Firefox 1.5 or 2.0.x are great (solid and well built)
Best when adding such plug-in as ADblock Plus
2. Opera 9 (Fast browsing and stable as well)
3. IE (only when needed some sites still need it)

I allow it to update automatically and have never had any trouble. I switched to Firefox at the behest of a very knowledgeable computer buddy who advised me it was MUCH more secure than IE  - mind you this was back in the days of IE6. Now that MS has upgraded, I'm sure lots of those issues have been dealt with.... but I kinda got used to Firefox and have stuck with it.

If you're thinking just about THINKING of getting Firefox, just DO IT! I've been using it for over a year now even after a few reboots.

For anyone who already has it, get the add-on called "NoScript", it'll block those pop-ups that are javascript based. At first for every site you go to, it'll block all scripts on sites but you choose which to allow and which you want to block aka about: blank...etc.
This will also help stop any worms getting into your PC and sites tracking you and gathering information like location, which sites you go to better their own sites.

Always keeping up on the updates, 2.0.0.7 very stable and some of the plugins are great  (AKA  Add-on  under tools)

When I got my new comp. a few months back, I had nothin but problems with IE. I'd go onto a web site to look at something (ie snowtroopers), hit the back button after reading an article or something to go to look at somethin different, and the page would go.If it did it would take forever. With Mozilla Firefox I have no problems with that what soever and it is very fast. Haven't touched IE and don't really plan on it either.

Don't forget Apple Safari.  That is a real good alternative to both of them.

I installed Google Chrome a few weeks ago and so far so good.  I've had a few hiccups with it but nothing too major.  The only real problem is when you try to check your hotmail with Chrome.

If you like Opera or Firefox, Chrome is a good mix of both.  It's fast very customizable.
