Ultra Rieeken/3PO
« on: December 14, 2003, 03:16:02 PM »

Found a couple of these in Detroit today, nice fig and the screen he comes with is nicely done as well, a bit pricy though at more than twice the cost of a regular saga figure.  He is not too well articulated so he pretty much just stands and points at the screen.  Probably best used for dioramas.

3PO as a figure is pretty standard fare, but the escape pod is very nicely done.  It comes apart and snaps together with ease and is well detailed.  It will probably be the peg warmer of the bunch, but it is worth the $, more so than Rieeken.

Wampa was nowhere to be found (unsurprisingly).  The case breakdown appears to be 4 of each of the ultras/case.

i guess the ultra fig is the new deluxe fig?
they usually go for about double the price.
is it a new 3po mold or just the same usual one?
what about the pod? is it the mold from the original toy?
it seems all the new vehicles are just repainted original molds. not a problem with me, i'll get em eventually,
hey apu, thanx for the review.

I think the 3PO mold may be the same as the lost arm one, but I'm not sure.  Paint job is considerably different.

Pod is definitely better than the original one and much better detail/paint.
