Cartoon I am working on
« on: January 05, 2009, 10:24:49 AM »

Some how with my busy life I have found time to start working on my cartoon. He are some pics of works in progress..
It is a combination of 2D and CGI
The character is called Greeny, his sidekick is Pinky (yeah very original I know) but this is an idea I have been working on since I was 15, (20 years ago)
The main Bad Guy is called "Dark Green"
I have several other bad guys in the works and will post pics later.

heres some more

This is hilarious, dude! Looks wicked!

What sorftware packages are you using to create your cartoon? I'm more into comics and illustration myself but have always had an urge to dabble in animation.

Do you have formal training in animation or are you learning this all on your own?      :yoda:

I am glad you like it.
This is my real first attempt at big animation, I have always dabbled , I use to use Deluxe paint 3 and 4 on my old Amiga when I was a kid and did some short animations.
as for training, it is kinda on the job training, I am learning as I go, sometimes I reached a point where I have to goolge to see how to do something, or get a pose right. Sometimes I use google to get facial expressions or just use a mirror.

I use a free 3D program call anim8or to do all the models and most lanscapes.
I use Anime Studio for the 2D work, this program is great, kinda like toonboom, it allows you to build up 2D charcters with bones so you can move them around. This program also allows me to load the animations made in Anim8or as background anims for the 2D characters to interact with.
Then I load the whole thing into Particle Illusion to add particle effects If needed....
