McFarlane's Hockey for 2009
« on: February 20, 2009, 12:58:41 AM »

OMFG!!! Just checked the Spawn site to see what was new, and all I have to say is WOW!!!!

Time to start my list of what I want. Nice thing to see is some Winnipeg Jets showing up, with a re release of Temmu Selanne and Shane Doan. Nice to see lots of goalies coming out, especially Terry Sawchuk in Toronto and detroit colors, another Sittler, oh, and who can forget this this ( I wish I could), Mats Sundin in vancouver colors. Best one has to be the coffee guru, Tim Horton.

Yeah, but are they the new, molded type of figures?  And worse, will the scale change like it did for the basketball guys?  I'd have probably bought one each of the latest round of NBA Legends, but the fact they are mini-me versions sucks.  I can deal with the molded stuff, to a degree, but I bought the original Howe in the old style rather than getting the new style.  I can see myself getting another Selanne no matter what, but beyond that this is a big lot of depends what they look like.

I didn't like how they stuck it too us with the Doan. The white jersey was initially promised as a wide release, but got cancelled..........

And a second Selanne that'll probably cost $300+ on the secondary market.  Ugh.

not sure how this new "limited edition" or whatever they call it is going to go over. yes, you are gonna spend quite a bit for the harder to get figs.  I have started to get a few now. I got a Doan, # 501 to be exact for a good price of $40.  i also found a Bernie Parant in a Leafs jersey. I would rather look for an American toy site where i might get a better deal, than try to find a scalper somewhere in WPG, if there are still any around.  I have a
