So I been on ebay a bit trying to get some old Kenner figures. I noticed original Leia seems to go quite high- $20-30. The others are in the 5-10 range. Is there a reason?  When I was little I made my sister play with Leia cause us boys were too manly!

There could be a variety of reasons. Since Leia is all white, the figure is notorious for developing spots as a result of plastic breakdown over the years. It is also prone to yellowing as well, similar to the Stormtrooper and the original Luke, so locating a mint all-white Leia can prove tough at times.

If the figures you saw were in good shape, it could also be a case of a handful of bidders bidding high in an attempt to obtain a nice quality figure given the reasons above.

Okay that makes sense. Thanks! I thought she was more rare or something.

It could also be because maybe she wasn't the hot item for boys like Luke or Han or Vader and thusly the quantity out there is pretty limited. I still have all my original Kenner figures but I never had a Leia. My sister did... and she pretty much ate it... along with all the weapons...

I had two vinyl-caped Jawas and traded them both with her for a fabric-caped one because it looked better. Sadly, she destroyed them as well.

Every true Star Wars fan is a Luke Skywalker, looking at his twisted, evil father, and somehow seeing good.

Trust me.

I kind of doubt it. The original Leia was quite plentiful for years when the vintage line was in stores. She was a perennial 'pegwarmer'. Lots of them survived to present day.

She's just hard to come by in excellent white condition.  As well, that dang little blaster is rare too, so both together can cost up to $30.  Even not so good condition leias can cost $10.

Well I will keep looking. I am getting there on restoring my vintage collection. I'm not too fussy about mintness or even original parts.
