Is the Vintage Stuff dead?
« on: February 19, 2010, 08:22:36 PM »

I'll admit, I don't come here nearly as much as I once did. But when I did come by, I always enjoyed checking out the vintage threads.

Kinda shocked to see there's hardly been any posts in the last year in this section.... what's going on!?

I don't think it's dead, it's just elsewhere. :)  It seems like most vintage discussion is at Rebelscum and just doesn't catch on here.

Maybe the new "vintage Rocket-Firing Boba Fett" offer will spark something.

Finally a rocket firing Fett!
I think the vintage stuff isn't dead, but since everyone has had 30+ years to work on their collection, it is just not as immediate as the new stuff, unless like me, you are trying to reacquire all the stuff you had as a child and that you foolishly sold in the 90s for $60.

It doesn't seem like there is much vintage talk in here. I have no desire to collect anything modern so I don't really visit the site anymore. I'll start to try and use it a little bit more!

My own thoughts is that "new" vintage collectors are few & far between. All of us that are involved in that aspect of the hobby have been for ages methinks.

ya tell me about it.....I thought having a Canadian focus, I would find some interesting stuff on here, but it seems rebelscum has more vintage talk.  Boohoo.

Welcome to Snowtroopers.  This site is definitely quiet at the moment, but it ebbs and flows.  A new face can be good stimuli to get things going again.  You should introduce yourself and your collection interests in the new recruits thread and maybe show off your stuff in the my collection forums.  It's always cool to see the collections of other snowtroopers on here.  I'd like to see your vintage carded figures.

Rebelscum is a good site for information and trading in the star wars community, but this site is great for alot of it's own unique reasons.  Number one reason is that the majority of the members are great, generous and helpful people that go out of their way for other members.

Also, Vintage Will Never DIE.... :fight:

Thanks for the warm welcome, Thirdfloor.  I can't believe what I've been missing out on, not using forums much in the past, and leaving it to toy / collector shows to talk to my fellow Star Wars peeps.  I am partial to my fellow Canadian Snowtroopers, of course  :artoo:  I'll post something soon, as you advise.   Thanks again!

VINTAGE WILL ALWAYS RULE!
