Almost the same, Ambasah :) I got spoilered at school by some kid about Vader being Luke's father but didn't truly believe it until I saw it for myself a day or two later. I remember going to the theatre in London east of adelaide on Dundas - at the time the only one with sound that was acceptable to Lucas back in those days if I recall correctly - and having to wait for a later showing as the first one we went for was sold out. I remember my dad bought us McDonalds and we ate in the car waiting for the show.

I remember being shocked by the Tauntaun's innards and being startled by Chewie grabbing Lando's neck :)

Some of my best childhood memories for sure, ESB remains the greatest movie of all time.

Speaking of spoiler: I saw RotJ a few days after it debuted but in the interim, some girl in my shop class blurted out that she saw it the night before and that Leia was Luke's sister.  I thought to myself "No... she's got to be lying... that's just totally dumb!  She kissed Luke in TESB, so there's no way she could be his sister.  No way Lucas would do that.  It'd be stupid."

Boy, did I underestimate George on that one!

I remember that day quite well.  I remember lining up at the Stanley Theatre in Vancouver on opening night.  I was 9 years old at the time.   What a memory!!!! And then later that year to get the Sears Christmas wish book with all the Empire toys in it.  I was so  excited for that Christmas!!

I was NOT about to let that happen again. For ROTJ I went on the bus with a friend of mine, both of us in Grade 5, down to the same theatre in that no-so-hot neighborhood in London. We saw an afternoon show and were likely the first kids in our school to see it. More great memories, but holy bloody hell would I have gotten in poo if my folks had known that trip was made without an adult.  :speechless-smiley-004:

Mind you, it would have been worth it.  :character0005:

I seem to remember seeing Empire as part of a double-bill with ANH at a seaside resort in the UK. Pretty sure that was when I saw it for the first time. Watched it with the wife last night and seeing it again with a couple of fellow Snowtroopers tonight.

Is there a cooler punishment than carbon-freeze (pun not intended)?

Should see you there,
It's been a while since I watched it, but I think I remember what it is about   :)`

Happy Birthday Empire!

Best. Movie. Ever.

I am going to watch the unaltered DVD tomorrow night with a big bag of popcorn while wrapped in my vintage ESB blanket.

Good times  :)`

I was 7 years old and a bit oblivious to the release date of ESB. My 3rd-oldest brother came home from school, packed me and 4th-oldest brother into the car and drove us 45 minutes to town to watch it on opening night. So awesome! I LOVED the AT-ATs and seeing Luke train and got to hear Boba Fett's original voice. LOL

I got an AT-AT from Sears that year for Christmas. Yay!!!

I was 15 and someone made the mistake of setting me up with a date to go to TESB the day it came to town.  Obviously I remember nothing about this girl.  My belated apologies to Whatshername.
