Wal-Mart Canada originally passed on bringing the Jabba set to Canada, but
we are working heroically to try and get some quantity in there after all.
Right now, it looks good that it will make it.  We will not be revealing any
images until Comic Con but it does come with everything you asked about.

We don't have any plans for a Luke as Vader figure, since something about
it doesn't feel "real" enough to justify release.  But it's an interesting
one to consider.  As for Rieekan, it's highly likely that he will never be
updated.  We do have that specific Bespin Guard on our radar, but that's for
longer term.  Finally, no plans for female Imp officers beyond in the
movie-based line with one great exception that you will hear about soon, at
Comic Con if not before.  Stay tuned!

The response to Eopie & Qui-Gonn was the greatest of any of the modern
mail-in figures (even greater than that for George Lucas in Stormtrooper
disguise).  That is why we re-released, even though we were not obligated to
do so (all offers are "why supplies last").   We have also been notified
that our supplies of Nahdar Vebb have been exhausted and we are about to
re-release him as well.  Fans can expect a similar delay in getting their
notification, since we don't know exactly when the new figures will come in.
As for Boba, we expect the demand will be huge, and are planning a large
figure release to cover the demand.  If demand should exceed supply early in
the promotion, we'll re-release.

We have a long ways to go before we will have done total justice to Ewoks.
We have at least planned in the lineup for each year, and we are trying to
do other multi-packs to get more to the shelves (there was a great set
proposed for this year that involved both movie and EU Ewoks, but the
proposed retailer decided against pursuing it this year; we remain hopeful
it will come out in 2011).    So we're talking 2 Ewoks over the next two
years currently in the works and hopefully more.  Almost all of the
movie-based Ewoks are a certainty, especially if they have precedence in the
Kenner line.  As for the TV-based Ewoks, 1-2 are likely next year if the
proposed exclusive pans out, if not, chances are almost zero we will get to
them.  As for Kneesaa, odds are much lower but we would not rule her out
someday.

Napseeker: from another Q&A, we have a more definitive answer:

Quote
1) In recently revealed case assortment details, we see Wicket is listed as coming with Kneesaa - can you confirm this? If so, you'll be making many fans very happy. Did you include a second figure because collectors have previously stated that a single Ewok might not do well at retail because of its perceived value?

Answer: Unfortunately, Kneesaa was dropped due to some production issues; we did not replace Kneesaa with another figure. Instead, Wicket is comes with his movie version poncho as well as a version inspired by his animated series appearance. He is a very cool figure.

EDIT: I suspect the female imperial is a reference to the Baron Fel & Ysanne Isard cancelled comic pack set, now likely an Ent Earth exclusive.

Discuss!

Ah, D**mn it! That's not good news. Looks like Walmart is about to offer us Canadians the same kind of fiasco they did with the Dewback. Hasbro is trying to work out some alternative way of getting this but, how da ya say it, I have a (very) bad feeling about this...

Hey, that's good information there! Two versions of Wicket! happy

And they do indeed recognize the roles of the Ewoks, although not enough: only 2 new Ewoks in the next 2 years? Woo-hooo??? That's a little disappointing. The Cantina is fully loaded, but Endor remains empty. sad

And that's definitely sad news about Kneesaa. sad

Glad to hear Jabba will (probably) make it to Canada.  I only hope he isn't in limited quantities and gets shipped to all Wal-Marts.

I suppose a question for the next Q&A would be :  Is TRU Canada going to bring in the Ultimate Boba Fett Battle Pack (and what's the price)?

Well at least Hasbro Canada is making the effort to sway Walmart to take it (at the end of the day, it'll be Walmart to blame/credit either way).  Depending on price, this will sell... one has to hope that the minimum quantities that Walmart is required to order would not be the deterrent given that it's so collector-focused.  At least those of us now have the choice:  try to use US contacts to get the Jabba OR cross your fingers and hope it does come to Canada in sufficient quantities (or at all).  It's partly up to us now too how we want to get our hands on this baby.

The ewok news isn't great but it's worse for the jawa. I'd hoped that Hasbro might release a soft goods jawa (with vinyl cape accessory! happy ) on TVC card but Hasbro has confirmed we won't see one for a couple of years  sad

Hmm, the Jabba info sounds rather sketchy. Hopefully Walmart Canada pulls through on this one. It also may seem like Hasbro just isn't making enough of their mail away figures, or more people are sending away for them. I guess it does help when the mail away figure is amazing.

What Hasbro should do is make an Ewok BP, fill it with 5 or 6 of them and there you go. They can get a bunch of Ewoks out all at once. Good idea? Anything Ewok never stays on the shelves/pegs for very long anyways, so there isn't any worries of that.

I suppose the POTJ Dagobah Vader is the closest we'll ever get . . .

Yeah, doesn't that count? Granted it's outdated, but it's not like it's never been done before. I don't see why they can't do that again with one of the updated sculpts. Heck they could just sell it as Vader, they always want more vaders on the pegs. That's what they did with the POTJ one. It didn't indicate the reveal at all on the US packaged version. There was a sticker on the Canadian release, which is quite rare. I don't know that I've even ever seen one of the Canadian versions on ebay. Not that i look often, but I do check from time to time out of curiosity.

It is actually quite a no-brainer... Vader with an alternate head. I have no idea why that would be such a problem and it is a good way to appease both the kids and the collectors.
