That new R2 in the ROTJ wave looks very sweet!

I picked up Vader and Leia during TRUs sale. Vader is just another Vader. What on earth is that white mark on his chin though?!? Almost ruins the whole head for me. Was there a specific scene that Hasbro based this Vader on? Leia is a pretty nice figure thoguh. The head sculpt is perfect and the dirt and scuffs on her outfit are a really nice touch. I think her vest is a little bit too short though, compared to the cards picture.

Supposedly it's scar tissue.

Scar tissue huh? They could have blended the paint much better I think. It just stands out way too much.

Sir Steve's Hasbro QnA answers confirm a few things:

C-3PO is too small. His mold shrank.

Vader's chin was an accidental paint apps (from an abrasion misinterpreted by the factory) that Hasbro decided to "keep".

That's pretty interesting stuff. They said that one day eventually they want to fix 3PO. I think this short version is great, if they fix the size issue on it, I think we will have a definitive version.

And I had finally come to terms with his size too and went and bought myself a second one! Now only to have my suspicions confirmed! Doh!

And in defense of his "size". I think that regardless of the height of the actor or whatever SW.com might say, if a character looks the wrong size compared to the films they are the wrong size. An action figure needs to be cheated in order to achieve a satisfactory match to the way it appears in the films. If any actor, including Anthony Daniels, was short such that any two shot between him, Luke, Leia, Han or whomever framed badly, they would have put him on a crate to boost his height. As I think I stated in a post here some time ago, every shot I saw in ANH had him appearing as tall or taller than Luke. Right now, the only figure he would come close to matching is the old ANH VTC Luke from what I can tell. But he looks shrimpy next to R2 and other protocol droids.

I've just acquired TVC 3-PO during the latest BOGOFOD TRU sale. I have a place for him in my collection. I like to call it my 'SW museum of horror' : He'll fit just fine next to "Monkey Face Leia", no less.

I picked up Han during TRU's sale, and I never gave this guy a second glance. He just didn't excite me at all. But after opening him up, he looks really good. His legs are still a bit wonky though, as most Hans's legs are. But he looks pretty cool working on top of the Falcon.
