Ok, there were 4 succesful answers to question 7.  The answer, by the way, was hydrospanner (Han asked for them, Chewie handed a hool toolbox full of them).  Those who move on are:

Wedge 1021
Fishfan
Mit_Othy
Darth MacAdam

Hi Guys...
Sorry for being incommunicato the last 2 days...I just got married last week and there's been a lot going on.  I missed the posting about questions every 24 hours so I thought I'd have time to answer Q5 on Sunday...only to find out I had missed 3 questions!  This contest was a blast and I'll gladly participate again next time, when I have a bit less on my plate!  Good luck to the 4 remaining contestants!!

Brinakarobin, thanks for conducting this!  It was a lot of fun!

Congrats, Darth Mink.  I hope your wife tolerates Star Wars :D  Good luck, and start enjoying your honeymoon rather than hanging out in the trivia forum!  Hopefully this will become a regular feature here, so join us for the next contest when it starts!

Rad, your answer had some truth in it, and I may have accepted it, but the others all had the answer that was intended.  Thanks for the suggestions for speeding things along - they seem to be helping.  And make sure to join in for the next contest we do, as well :)`

OK, the final round is set!

Fishfan
Wedge1021
Darth MacAdam

The answer to question number 8 was the Kaiburr Crystal (I may have spelled it wrong, as well - I'll look it up later).

As a tid bit of extra Star Wars trivia, the Kiber crystal (spelled differently, pronounced the same) had it's origins int he very first script for Star Wars, where it (like in Splinter of the Mind's Eye) was an object that could focus one's use of the Force.

For the final round, we will be going into the Chat Room.  I propose either Friday Night, perhaps 9PM AST (8 PM Eastern) or Sunday anytime after 4PM.  It should take about 30-45 minutes.  If the three players listed above could post as to whether or not they can make any or all of those times, please do so ASAP.

Friday works best for me as well (at least, my wife hasn't told me otherwise yet!)

Now I'm nervous, not sure how long I'll last in the lightning round. That last question would have knocked me out if I hadn't just read that comic. But those are the more obscure questions that make things fun. Great job so far brianakarobin!

Here's where the fun begins...

Friday should be fine.  It'll be 5pm where I am, so I'll just have to tell the wife that I'll be working late!

Sounds good.  Friday night it is!  Start brushing up on your trivia!  And make sure to read the rules of the contest again, to see how round two will work.  You can see them in my post here (read the section on "Phase II")

Also, in case people don't know, if you go to www.snowtroopers.ca, just below the link for the forums, there is a link for "Chat".  Click on that to get into the chat room.  Please try to use your snowtroopers names so there is no confusion as to who is who.

Thanks, I just did a trial run to make sure all was working. Had to update my Java plugin, so good thing I checked. Should be ready to go (technology-wise at least!)

I may have to concede.  I just remembered I'm going away this weekend.  I leave Fri after work and hope to be back in time for my ball game at 3, meaning I won't be home till 5ish on Sunday.  I'll understand if I'm out as I said I was in already, but I forgot I had a prior commitment.  Sorry guys.
