What's up with the flipping screen
« on: March 17, 2012, 03:05:57 PM »

Just wondering why it is that when I respond to a thread with a quote from someone as soon as my typing reaches the last open line in the text box the screen starts to "flip, or flutter" with every letter that I type and doesn't want to show the line that I'm typing unless I use the scroll bar on the side of the screen.  It doesn't happen when there is no quote.

Anyone else experiance this? :sign0065:

No, what browser and operating system are using?

The browser is internet explorer and the os is windows xp.  It's weird because i've had it happen in the past, and it happened to me earlier today responding to a different thread.  If I spacebar down to the bottom of this text window now it's happening to me in this window right now.  It won't let me see the line I'm typing unless I scroll down to it.  As I'm typing it will flash up for a split second as I'm typing the letter but then it "lifts/scrolls" the text up to the previous line.  It's frustrating....

I have had this happen to me once or twice on Snowtroopers. But I find it happens most to me while Im trying to write on facebook. Although it hasn't happened to me lately. No idea why.

I personally use firefox. Nice & tidy, any issues I've had are few & far between. Also heard good things about google Chrome, but have never tried it out.

I have had this issue in the past. The fix is to use your browser in compatibility view. there should be a small icon at the top of the browser by where you type in the web address, it looks like a little rectangle or sheet of paper with a jagged line through the middle. click on that and it should solve the problem.

Thanks for the tip. :)`  I've noticed that button before but never investigated it's purpose.  That'll save me some annoyance, thanks.
