That is nice, but that card misses 2 artoos & a 3PO that you need to keep straight - we still haven't seen the lightsaber R2 or the original 12 back artoo for that matter, and we need the pull apart 3po.  :speechless-smiley-004:

For my own mental health I'm doing this list here so I don't lose it & can refer later.  :speechless-smiley-004: Please check my amendments of the original post if you have time.

I'm at 45 cards myself & know that I'm missing 4LOM & Zuckuss (I want that bloody 2 pack, let me tell you, and Winners here turned up ZIP ZERO ZILCH for me  :mad0137: ).

Oh, and Trooper I LOVED your visual aid - I certainly didn't mean to come off as overly critical which I'm worried I did. Please bring it back.  :love0030:

Thank you Sir!  :)`

I almost want to start a thread called "Missed Opportunities" due to the photos chosen by Hasbro in a few cases, but it's really not THAT bad (mind you any "mistakes" are going to get the  :mad0177: from me when it comes to this). By my math, they SHOULD have the following scratched off the list - in fact I'll call it nonsense that they're not.

First off, we have to start with ESB Hoth Rebel Trooper and ROTJ Emperor's Royal Guard. These figures came out DURING the line for crying out loud, I DO NOT understand why they chose to go away from the original photos. The odds of us getting these 2 cards re-made with the proper photos must be about 0%.

Next up is ROTJ Fett on skiff card. I'm just going recycle 2 Fett cards because the original photo was used on all 3 versions that I had - and one of them has a Return of the Jedi logo on it!  Huh? :speechless-smiley-004:

Of the cards that have not yet been re-released there are a number of "between good enough & great" modern figures that would be worthy of being released as single-carded entries down the road (yes, I'm a big fan of the modern Ewoks & consider them worth the price of a full figure. The fact we got 2 in some of these packs was astounding to me), in my opinion those would include the following:

ANH

R2-D2
Jawa (option 1)
Jawa (option 2)
Jawa (option 3)
Hammerhead
Snaggletooth
Power Droid

ESB

AT-AT Driver
Bespin Guard 2
Ugnaught (option 1)
Ugnaught (option 2)

ROTJ

Romba
Leia - Boushh
Chief Chripa
Paploo
The Emperor

POTF

A-Wing Pilot (option 1)
A-Wing Pilot (option 2)
Death Star Gunner
Luke - Stormtrooper

Any other figures you guys recall that would be worth the price of purchase just to get an extra & that remade card?

Any of the 'expensive' vintage carded figures would be nice to have for fillers until the funds can be made available to have an original.  Yak Face, Amanaman, Carbo Han, Stormie Luke, ect.

It seems now, especially looking at the cardback visual provided by trooper that maybe they've been saving the POTF figures for the end of the Modern Vintage run.

This Lumat is an example of a modified original vintage cardback.  Alot of it is the same, but the tree has been removed.

Funny the changes they choose to make. At least it looks like the same snap of the character. This same thing was taking place back in the day as well - check this photo of the changes in the Stormtrooper card - to me that's the same "focal point" Stormy, but his buddy has been removed.

Of interest, at the very end of the run I realized we (I) had made an error about one of the cardbacks - the first Weequay card is not the vintage card. Good thing the latest one IS a remake of the proper vintage card so that we're not missing him from the collection.  :mad0218:

Not sure what caused me to go through these again today, but I noticed the picture of Ponda Baba used in the modern remake was NOT the same one used on the vintage card. Scratch one off the completed list. :(
